Customers are saying

Customers admire Kingdom Hearts III's smooth gameplay, engaging story, and visually appealing worlds. Many found the game fun and a good value for the price, also praising the music. However, some players felt the difficulty could be increased, and a few criticized the voice acting and the length of the cutscenes. Overall, the positive feedback on gameplay and story outweighs the negative comments on other aspects.

Story can be a bit odd if you haven't played

The story can be a bit odd especially if you haven't played the prior games(I haven't gotten around to playing the story so far bundle yet). Its pretty fun but to get to certain things without programming shortcuts the interface becomes quiet cluttered for real time battles. its does not pause when going through item lists the way final fantasy XV does, despite not having online gameplay or multiplayer. The story feels like it had several parts cut out. Hopefully the up coming DLCS will help fill in some of the gaps. If you have the patience you might want to wait for a final cut type version rather than picking up any paid dlc that comes along. It was fun but the story breaks up into a lot of sections and at the end of the design process they changed parts of the ending or left them out due to time and budget constraints. They already spent more than 10 years between releasing kingdom hearts 2 and kingdom hearts 3 and it suffered several time table changes on the release, similar to what happend to FFXV/Final Fantasy XIII Versus

You. Donald Duck and Goofy. Fighting with Mickey Mouse and a whole plethora of C-tier Disney movie heroes (Baymax??) to save the world from Darkness. Pretty darn cool. Gameplay remains similar to the first two games, but with a lot more verve and panache. Tons of opportunities for flourishes and crazy breakdance moves, really makes the battle system stand out. The storyline has become even more incomprehensibly stupid and incoherent, now jamming in what feels like 10 or 15 games worth of information into one single title. The constant exposition tries to explain what happened in the other video games in the series, but if you didn't play some rare Gameboy Advance or PSP title from ten years ago, you will be confused and there's no avoiding it. Darkness indeed. Ultimately that all pales in comparison to running around in a bunch of Disney universes fighting the bad guys with magic swords that look like keys. Highly recommended, especially if you're a child who doesn't really care about writing or cohesive storylines. Lots of fun!

I really enjoy the series as a whole and if you're a fan of disney they did a really good job with the world designs in this one. I had a blast playing this and I definitely recommend it for any disney/KH fan!

If you are a fan of the Kingdom Hearts series you are inevitably going to buy this game regardless of what I tell you, but really all you need to know is that it was worth the wait. There are so many new mechanics introduced in the combat that while are helpful don't feel forced at all so if you were really inclined you could realistically play this more or less like old school Kingdom Hearts 1. So far the story is pretty great too and they include a catch up menu so players who have not played any of the past entries can have at least a small idea of what is going on. My only real complaint is that the game tends to be a little on the easy side since it isn't difficult to end up overleveled so my advice is to only play this game on proud mode to ensure you are challenged throughout the adventure. All in all this is a must have for fans of the series.

A Finale That Was Worth The Wait

Before playing KH3, I had to watch a few videos to recap the story of KH 1, 2, and all the other side games. Because the game took a while to come out, it feels like there was a lot to catch up on. However, when you play KH3, it seems like the story picks up immediately where it left off. The benefits are that you can see how amazing the graphics are. The game play has the same fighting style but with a lot more summons and abilities. The combination of fighting styles definitely add another layer of replayability to the game until you find the one you want to stick with or keep trying to see which ones are the most fun. The Disney characters you encounter in KH3 are a nice pick although some of their stories are very similar to their actual movies which may bother some players seeking new adventures. Overall, the game is a nice ending to the saga.

I have been in love with KH since the beginning! This game is not perfect there are errors and annoying talks but overall it's the beauty and the game play, story (still doesn't make sense lol). I love this game just for the worlds mainly it does seem a lot easier than the other games some bosses were hard but after maybe 3-4 tries, I won. The other games made me so angry and I quit playing because I couldn't beat a certain boss this one not so much and it seems shorter to me. The gummi ship feels like a true ship in this game you can really fly it to get to the other worlds. I do like flying around and being able to choose to fight or not too. I wish they didn't talk when you walked pass every ingredient, emblem. Sometimes they do get in the way but I love the graphics. I would still play this in the future once I completed the game.

    The Conclusion of a Saga

Kingdom Hearts 3 is a great conclusion to the Kingdom Hearts story that started back on September 17, 2002. If you haven't played the previous games in the franchise you can still play this game and get a lot out of the story. The game does a very good job of explaining the plot to new players. The combat in this game is the best the franchise has had in a long time. While not as many Disney Worlds represented as in previous games the worlds represented are more dense and bigger than previous game. The Prates of the Caribbean level for instance gives you a huge map to explore on your ship with pirate Donald and Goofy at your side. Franchises from Disney (Frozen, Tangled, Winnie the Pooh, Hercules), Pixar (Toy Story, Monster's Inc., Big Hero 6) and others are explored in this installment. Long time fans of the series will enjoy this final chapter in the Xehanort Saga. While not perfect, the game does an admirable job to close out storylines that have been going on for over 16 years.

Kingdom Hearts 3 is the imperfect but still great conclusion to the Xehanort arc of the series. Gameplay is fun but less so than previous entries (especially KH2, my favorite entry in the whole series). It lacks Final Fantasy influences but does set up some interesting things for the next game. The story is the typical conflux of interweaving character arcs, but for having so many characters to wrap up, it does a decent job at this. Game length was disappointing as you do not visit worlds a second time like in previous entries and this made the game feel shorter. Overall, Kingdom Hearts 3 perhaps did not live up to (relatively unattainable) levels of hype, but it was a blast to play and see how the Sora-Xehanort arcs ended. I recommend it to anyone who is a big fan of the series, but you should probably play at least some of the other entries in order to have a good understanding of the story (particularly Birth by Sleep, 358/2 Days, Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2, and Dream Drop Distance).

It’s a stunning game with great visuals and fluid combat, but as a die hard kingdom hearts fan, it’s disappointing. The story throughout is very filled and boring to get through. Worlds like the Frozen kingdom get really boring too, to the point where I had to skip most of the cutscenes in it. The game gets good when characters independently made in the universe show up. Overall if you’re looking for a fun, basic Action RPG this one is fine in gameplay aspects, but if you want a better story I’d suggest just getting the All-In-One collection for the series.

I really enjoy the Kingdom Hearts games, though I do hate the water levels. This game is full of twists and turns and intrigue. A very fun game to play and it's also fun to watch it being played. The only bad thing I have to say about any of the Kingdom Hearts games is the annoying Donald and Goofy voices. They make my ears bleed. But all the other voice acting is great, even some better than the originals. Additionally, what's not to love about ANYTHING that has to do with Final Fantasy! Full Disclosure: it took my boyfriend only 2 days (if that) to beat the game and less than a week to collect everything (which is saying something because he is not a completionist, but he enjoyed this game so much, he couldn't stop playing it until he got every tiny, hard to find item. And no, he didn't use any walkthroughs).

I've been waiting 13 years for this. So far it has not disappointed. The battle mechanics have been revamped and are very fun to use. Boss battles are more fun than the previous 2 and the graphic are kind of weird, but very well done.

This game is the culmination of over 15 years worth of games and storytelling and I happy to say it is very much like the rest of the series that spawned it. The voice acting can be hit or miss but it is charming nonetheless. The game looks great though it only looks truly stunning on the more powerful versions of the current consoles (PS4 Pro or Xbox One X respectively). The gameplay tends to be on the easy side even on the highest difficulties though there are ways to add challenges through self imposed limitations. There is a lot of variety to the game and I think it is important to play through the game trying all of the different things it offers. There are dozens of minigames to try and I think are all worthy of at least a try or two. The game is by no means perfect but playing through it at a casual pace and experiencing the world that the developers have made will allow for a positive experience.

This newest numbered entry into the KH franchise has been long overdue. Having been a huge fan of the second game, I had to manage expectations going into this one. Combat is the greatest selling point, and though I feel as though no game after 2 ever felt quite as refined in this aspect, 3 presents a myriad of options, giving endless variety. The worlds feel large and detailed, the art style is amazingly flexible ( Pirates world and Toy Story world in particular deserve a shout out), and the battles have a great feeling of scale. KH2 remains my favorite, but this was a much-needed worthy ending to the saga.

Kingdom Hearts 3 is the end of the Xehanort saga and ties up multiple storylines in the series, The game is best played if you've played the other games. Kingdom Hearts 2 came out in 2005, since then there has been a bunch other games in the series released on handheld and a remastered collection on PS3 and later on PS4 that have continued the series. Kingdom Hearts 3 is a good game but I don't think it's the best in the series. On the hardest difficulty I felt it was a little easy like I was playing on Standard. It needs more Optional Bosses this only has 1. Worlds are okay. Previous Kingdom Hearts games used Classic or Renaissance Era Disney Movies but KH3 uses Modern Disney/Pixar movies. I suggest first timers to get the Kingdom Hearts collection. Kingdom Hearts 3 isn't going anywhere, you can take your time and play through the other games and if you don't like them, you probably won't like KH3

Our family loves the Kingdom Hearts series. We most especially loved KH 1, 2 and Birth By Sleep. This game takes a lot of the best parts of those games and combines it. The only warning is the cut scenes come often and are very long. And you can go way too long between opportunities to save if you want to play for shorter spurts at a time. But you can't play for much less than an hour at a time if you want to get anywhere with the game. The graphics are amazing, and the new worlds give some great interest. Love the way they finally brought the stories together. Still doesn't make full sense of it all, but a whole lot better. Loved when they finally get the Birth By Sleep characters back together since that has probably been our favorite.

Like many of you - I have waited a long long time to pick this game up and I’m very excited for it! It’s got the same charm and great fighting system of the first two games with memorable worlds to play in as well. I will say, the story/dialogue is still confusing at times and has far too many lengthy cut scenes. But this did not keep me away from enjoying the game and still added to making it more of an experience with the familiar voice acting work. Great all around work and conclusion!
