The large digital read-out an improvement that has saved me time.

A good value.

I know the app is what is supposed to set this apart but who wants to mess with that when they wake up and think "hey, do I have a fever?" Following a tip in another review about hitting the button several times quickly it did finally switch into a regular thermometer mode
