We bought this to check the temperature of our 1 year old. We tend to check with multiple thermometers just being paranoid parents. The Kinsa seems to be the most off from the others. Either is right and the others or wrong or it is wrong. We can't really tell.

Great product but wrong item that I ordered. I ordered the forehead temperature one for newborns but got this one. Same brand and reviews but can't use it yet until baby is older.

This thermometer is not accurate. It was saying his temp was 97.9 and 98.3 the other day. And another thermometer was saying it was 101.3 He definitely had a fever. It was way off.

It measures the temperature pretty well. I don't use all the different features it has on the device. It was a bit pricey.

The thermometer I have now works perfectly, but the first one that was sent to me was defective and had to be exchanged.

Doesn't work very well. You have to really press into the ear canal for a reading and that can hurt a child

I bought this item a year or so ago, just to have on hand. I just want a simple device that takes temps. I DO NOT understand why I have to down load the app to activate it. It's ALWAYS dead. I changed the batteries on this so many times and many more issues.

I just received the Kinsa Smart Ear Thermometer and have been very impressed so far! The thermometer and corresponding app are very easy to set up. I first tried the thermometer on myself and didn't think it worked because the complete "beep" went off so quickly! It really only does take a second. I also tried on my two year old and it couldn't have gone more smoothly. It fit easily in his ear and the sensor is wide enough that there's no concern about pushing it too far into the ear canal. It took an accurate temperature. I appreciate that you can use it alone or with the app. The app will track temperatures and you can plug in other symptoms easily. The only downside is that I couldn't figure out how to quickly take another reading without waiting for it to reset on its own. It only takes 30 or so seconds, but when dealing with a squirmy toddler, 30 seconds can be a long time! I'd definitely recommend this product.
