Customers have good things to say about the lighting, space, size, wine rack, and water filter of the 24.8 Cu. Ft. Side-by-Side Refrigerator. They appreciate the well-done and evenly dispersed lighting, the spacious interior, the perfect fit for their kitchen space, the convenient wine rack, and the easy-to-change water filter. However, some customers have concerns about the ice maker breaking multiple times, intermittent loud noise, frequent repairs, and a slightly loose door.

spray foam was coming out of the top of the doors that I had to remove with a razor, the refrigerator door makes a thumping noise when i open it, and now the freezer side is not cooling and food is starting to melt and i have had the refrigerator less than two months. now i have to deal with kitchenAid warranty. What a terrible experience with best buy and now getting ahold of kitchenaid is totally frustrating. 6000 worth of appliances and the issues begin

i do love the refrigerator and freezer, unfortunately the ice maker is terribly slow, so slow as a family of 4 we had to supplement our ice by purchasing an external ice maker(which i do recommend:) . 1st con-The freezer is a little narrow, so you cannot fit some big frozen pizza's in there when you get home from the store, but we have a 2nd refrig/freezer so we store wide stuff in there. I love the LED lighting everything is is lit up both freezer and refrig so you can see easily. the shelves are easily adjustable and can be made to your satisfaction. It has two drawers for produce in the refrigerator and two in the freezer for bagged veggies or whatever you choose. The water/ ice maker takes a #1 water drop ($40+-) filter which are a little pricey but I get after-market on ebay/amazon and have been satisfied. the water dispenser is a little slower than id like but it is not that big of a deal. all in all i do like it though--just wish the ice maker was way faster in producing ice--and yes i put it on max cold and it still does not make it fast enough.

I bought this about 2 weeks ago. The refrigerator is simply gorgeous. The lighting is spectacular and the shelving is amazing. The refrigerator operates very quietly. Was so excited for this refrigerator, it just looks greatness.
Then when I opened it up I saw the door swing open and hit the wall. Theres no stopping the door. I called customer service from the where I purchased it, (Best Buy) and they sent out a technitian that said the door handles were to heavy for the refrigerator and thats why it swung open and hit the wall. Seriously?
Then after two days I started seeing finger prints on the stainless steel. I tried cleaning it and was impossible to clean the stainless steel. So my new gorgeous fridge is now a dirty looking fridge that opens and bangs the walls. Terrible.

I have my condo for sale so I was very disappointed to find out I needed to replace my Bosch refrigerator that went bad after just 7 years. I went to the Best Buy outlet store in Burbank and there were many refrigerators to chose from. My Bosch was a counter depth but I chose a full size Kitchen Aid model for several reasons, it was not as deep as most on the market today so it fit my space better than most full size models would have, it's got great, bright lighting inside, glass shelves instead of plastic, and a fabulous price at the outlet store. The ice maker is a little noisy when it drops the new cubes.
I have been very happy with this refrigerator, it holds a lot and it's easy to see everything. Plus...it's a top brand.

The reason we bought this fridge is because of the unique door hinges. We have a tight spot for our fridge and this model has a hinge system that allows the doors to open in a manner that will not bump into the wall oven which is right next to it. It has bright led lighting and plenty of storage.
My biggest complaint is that the stainless steel surface is not coated and therefore it shows every fingerprint. It also has a very thin gauge skin and dents and scratches very easily. I had wanted to buy a Samsung but the doors open in a way that would not work for us.

have had problems with this refrigerator from the start. Had trouble keeping safely cool temps. Compressor issue wasn't covered by warranty or geek squad. A year after geek squad warranty ran out, some other cooling issue popped up and when repair guy came out there were cracks all within the lining of the back side of the fridge. Of course, also not covered. Geek squad warranty was useless for anything that was important to cover. Customer service was also terrible both at BB/GS and kitchenaid. Now after spending $3500 plus for the fridge and OOP repairs, we have to buy another fridge. Will never buy from BB again.

Love the way this appliance looks in the kitchen. It's built very well and all the shelves, drawers, handles are substantial and easy to move. I will say there are only a few configurations that allow you to have a gallon of milk on the door and still shut the door. The shelf on the door will bump the drawer if you have the drawer up too high and the shelf too low. They did make the most of the interior space - the shelves are deep and I'm very pleased with the space in the freezer as most side by side fridges seem to neglect design in the freezer section. The lighting is well done and evenly dispersed so that no matter where you place your food or containers you don't block the lighting for other shelves. No cold spots, keeps food just as you expect. Ice and water dispenser work very well. Ice maker is smallish and a little slow, but if you don't use an incredible amount of ice in a day (like trying to host a party without purchasing bags of ice or fill a cooler) it's not a problem at all once the dispenser is full it has no problem keeping up with normal daily use.

I would like to begin this review by saying I got a wonderful open box deals for this KitchenAid refrigerator. What supposed to be $2200, I was able to buy for $1150.
With that said, this is a great refrigerator. Both freezer and refrigerator remains nice & cold. Shelving throughout is durable (unlike my old Frigidaire).
The only 2 issues I have encountered with this product is the ice maker and the control panels.
The ice maker is really slow making ice. I mean really slow. I have a family of nine kids and we use the ice machine a lot for our extracurricular sports activities. This machine can only produce a full tray of ice if you do not touch it for 2-3 days. I have read other reviews that said this, but I had to see it for myself. They were right.
The next issue I have is the control panel is digital above the water and ice dispenser. Althought this has a lot of features, it is not necessarily user friendly. I can safely say I can maneuver through electronics without having major issues. The only thing I can do right now without having to spend a lot of time reading the manual is being able to lock all my preferences and also be able to pre-measure the water dispenser. Gone are the days we can mess around with switches and figure out how something works. I am pretty sure I will figure it out eventually.
With that said, we had the opportunity to return this to Best Buy within our first 15 days and we decided to keep it because overall we thought this Kitchenaid refrigerator does have more positives than negatives especially for the great price we bought it for.
I rated it a 3 star because I took out 1 star for the slow ice maker and 1 star for the non-user friendly control panels.
Hopefully this reviews helps you.

Noisier than the old GE fridge it replaced, although the geek squad service person said that noisier is typical for Kitchenaid and that the unit is functioning normally. Turned off the icemaker, which helped. Compressor is the primary source of noise and I might acoustically insulate the cabinet enclosure for the fridge to see if that helps with the noise.
Also has bottom fridge door hinge which makes a clicking every time the door is opened or closed. Geek squad service person showed me that it's not broken, but we couldn't determine the source of the noise.
However, this thing is gorgeous especially inside. The interior lighting and materials are what got the sale. Everything else works well. Overall, almost great but ends up only good. Kind of like buying an expensive car that has a few annoying things that fall short of 5 stars.

We like the fridge. Lots of space inside and very well lit. The water dispenser did stop working in the first week but best buy quickly swapped it out. No issues since but my expectations were a bit higher given the price.

After doing a lot of research, I decided to purchase this side-by-side to replace
an older unit. I couldn't be happier. Unlike some of the reviews I have read,
I have not had any problems with the in-door ice-maker or noise levels. This refrigerator/freezer functions well, the temperatures are consistent, and the interior lighting is great! One note: if you are buying any 'stainless steel' appliance, I recommend purchasing some micro-fiber cloths and a can of 3M
stainless steel cleaner and polish. Using these products will help to keep the unit
looking like new.

We chose this unit because we didn't want to bend down for a freezer. It is well lit and the Stainless front is magnetic as well. The only thing that we don't like so far is the refrigerator shelves are too fogged up and damp all the time, and the ice cubes are a weird shape and quantity of ice storage is very small. Also, KEEP the reference chart to change controls. Do wish it just had a typical dial to change interior temperatures though rather than the complicated method one must use near the water dispenser.

Normally I do not write reviews but I am so disappointed in this purchase I don't want people to make the same mistake I did. I purchased this refrigerator 6 months ago and in that time I have had to replace the bottom drawer three times as the handle keeps breaking. The first time I blamed it on my kids, but the next time I broke it and after using epoxy to fix it, I noticed how poorly the design is. As I am writing this review, Kitchen Aid is sending me a new drawer for the 3rd time. The other issue with this refrigerator is the ice maker is slow, very slow, to the point that when we have family or friends over we purchase an extra bag of ice and keep it in the garage refrigerator. On a positive note, Kitchen Aid has been great to work with and I like the water dispenser once measurement feature. This comes in handy every Monday when I start my diet to lose weight then by Wednesday I give up on my diet because I don't like to drink water, hence the wine rack feature.

Happy with refrigerator except for still waiting for part that was ordered to correct the problem with the pin not staying in to keep the rjght hand door from coming off. Technicians came out and looked at the problem and was told they would order new part to correct this. However, it has been several weeks and still have not heard from the Geek Squad as to when this part will be available so they can come and fix this problem. Communication with customer does not seem to be a priority.

The cooling of this refrigerator is as good as I've seen. The storage area in the refrigerator section is a bit tight, but the additional shelving on the door is a plus. A 4 bottle wine rack is included and hangs on the bottom of one of the shelves. The freezer area is great with plenty of room. Overall a very reliable refrigerator.
