This dishwasher does a great job at cleaning dishes. I debated if I wanted a hard food disposer or filtration, and everyone has a different take on the subject. I finally decided to go with filtration, and also the upper rack, thinking it would be great for Tupperware lids ect.. We removed the upper rack because our favorite cups would not fit with it in. Dropping the middle rack to the lower position created problems with large dishes, so that was not an option either. As others have noted, the interior dimensions are smaller, and I assume this is due to the added insulation. It is very quiet, and I like the light on the front that changes colors depending on the part of the cycle the unit is in.

This dishwasher is so quiet that you actually have to put your hand on it to see if it's running. The dishes do come out cleaner and the sleek, contemporary design is beautiful.

Stainless front looks good with other appliances. Love the stainless interior. Lots of adjustments and gadgets to hold different types of items. Excellent job cleaning dishes. It is so quiet I don't know when it is running. It fits in the same space as the old dishwasher, but has more interior room because the tall tub extends lower toward the floor. This is the cause of my one minor gripe. When the door is all the way open it is almost to the floor and the handle is now under the door. To close the door I have to reach all the way to the floor and slide my hand under the door to grab the handle, or grab the top of the door which puts fingerprints on the stainless door.

Quite. So very quiet. My dishes are clean and not spotted. Like the extra spray located at back of washer. The third drawer is fantastic. No more utensils falling down to the bottom. Highly recommend this dishwasher.

Big step up for us from an high end LG purchase years ago. Only one matter, doesn't always fully dry items on the glass rack but still a big improvement. Third rack is ideal for utensils and silverware. Would give a 4.5 star review if possible except for the slight issue with the drying. and have no qualms about buying one of these again. Darn near perfect and so incredibly quiet. Last thing, ProWash is a great feature.

    Great Dishwasher-BestBuy lacked full disclosure

We purchased this dishwasher at a discount because of “open box”. It had no box and apparently had been installed in someone else’s home. Leaked water all over our floor as we brought it in. I called Best Buy back and they said we could bring it back for full refund, but since we chose to pick up, that would have been a hassle. We installed it, and found one piece bent at the bottom, where adjustable “leg” is attached. Fortunately, we could bend it back into position. GOOD NEWS is that we finished installing and it works great so far. The “open box” pricing is great, but just be aware that it may be a returned unit. I would have given a 5 star rating if we had been given full disclosure by Best Buy of the bent leg and previous installation.

We did quite a bit of research before purchasing this dishwasher. We're replacing a Kitchenaid that was almost 10 years old and used at LEAST once a day, and we weren't sure if we wanted to stick with it. I'm glad that we did! The clean is amazing, the quiet is amazing, the 3rd rack is amazing (Never had one before, and we use it all the time). We've had it just over a month now, and zero complaints or issues.

So quiet, you have to watch the light or open the door to see if it is running. We like the generous silverware tote and the third rack for small items, sharps, and odds and ends. Plenty of room inside. Dishes come out much cleaner than our Kenmore Elite that was highly rated at the time by a consumer magazine. As a bonus, the grab bar serves as a towel holder. Our only wish would be to add a minutes remaining readout.

Had an old stock washer that was built with the house! Time to change the old unit as you would have to turn the tv up a quarter more when you were washing dishes! We found this unit on sale and looked at the decibels and had no idea what decibels was how loud. Brought it home and installed it that afternoon, anyone with a little ingenuity can do the install. This unit is so quiet, the only thing you hear is the water gurgling down the drain. Do not hesitate to buy this unit. however, The wash cycles are a bit long, but doesn't really matter as you can wash any time without disrupting your tv time!

It was a toss up between this and the Bosch. But I am glad I went ahead with this. First off is the classic clean appearance and then the quality of the washes. My dishes come out clean shiny almost brand new :-) The noise level is minimal if that. All positives. One gripe - the length of each wash cycle. Either I am not doing something right or it is just the way it is, but even the quickest of wash cycles takes a 100+ minutes to complete. Not sure if that is normal. But in any case, with the deal I got for this and my fridge (also Kitchen Aid) I am most satisfied. Thank you.

I cannot say enough about this dishwasher. The quality is superb. It cleans well, the third rack is a blessing, the moveable racks inside really comes in handy when dealing with large pots, and the sleek design upgrades the look of my kitchen. Plus it is so quiet, people can't tell that it's running. I will be upgrading the rest of my appliances to KitchenAid for sure.

This is my first Kitchen Aid dishwasher and I've only had it a week but I noticed it's very quiet. It got the dishes clean and dry (even the tall plastic glasses). Don't know about the longevity... but so far I think it is a excellent dishwasher.

Sub-optimized for Quiet at Cost to Other Features

We got real focused on the ultra-quietness of this unit...and it really, really is super quiet when washing (fill and drain just as loud as any other). I also loved the "cabinet-style" rack runners, which were the highest quality and strength of any we had seen. But just like any time you focus on one or two features, the others may suffer. While it does have heated dry (unlike the comparable Bosch), it is too short and not hot enough, so it never dries completely, especially plastic. The cycles are too long (needed to clean effectively due to the wimpy wash power (to keep the noise low). The third rack is not usable with regular utensils because it lacks the long flexible fingers to hold them in place like the Bosch. This unit has short, hard, stubby tangs that are too small to hold anything in place. With the middle rack in the lowered position, we can't get our dinner plates in the lower rack. With the middle rack in the upper position, we can't get tall glasses in it. The end-of-cycle signal is too quiet to be of any use. The "barbell grade" stainless steel handle looks totally out of place and inappropriate for a kitchen; belongs in a gym.

I've had this dishwasher for 3 months now and I love it. It works great and is so quiet. Our last dishwasher was so loud, we couldn't have it running and hold a conversation in the same room at the same time. When I looked at it at the store, I wasn't sure how we'd feel about the 3rd tray and I assumed I would need to take it out in order to fit the dishes and glasses. It turned out that our plates are small enough that they fit with plenty of room on the bottom and the glasses fit in the top so we left the 3rd try in and use it all the time for our flat spoons and other flat utensils. I almost never have to jam the dishes in this washer like I did with the old one so this one must be bigger. I also like that the upper rack is tilted on some of the rows so my glasses with the dip in the bottom get completely dry. This washer cleans beautifully and we almost never have a piece of food left behind on dishes or silverware. I'm so glad we picked this one. The installation guys were great and showed us how to use it before they left. I couldn't be happier with this purchase.

My 4yr old LG blew the motor. Geek Squad rep suggested to replace & not repair. It just happened the Kitchenaid sales rep was visiting the store. Between Gannah(?) & Kathy in appliances all of my questions were answered. The DW is fabulous. Efficient. Easy to load after I developed a system. QUIET! A full hi temp/sanitize wash & dry takes 2 hours so I run it at night. In the morning while enjoying my coffee I empty the DW & ready to go for the next load.

Was shopping for a Bosch dishwasher, but the head appliance salesman at our local Best Buy told me that Boschs no longer have heated dry. I knew we wanted the heated dry, so we looked at Kitchenaids instead. Daughter and I picked out one and had my husband look at it soon afterwards. Quietest dishwasher we've ever had. Cleans great.
