Seems like I could fit much more in my old machine. For the price I am surprised at the lack of spaces. The machine is very quite

It is supposed to be the quietest dishwasher available. It is no quieter than the much more economical Bosch it replaced. There are dirty dishes and cutlery at the end of every wash. The installers needed a hand and I'm still not sure that it is properly installed. High price and low quality. Let's see how long it lasts.

Hang on to your old machine if you can

We replaced a 15 year old machine with this one after reading reviews and looking at test ratings. First, know that all machines made today have to meet government "efficiency" stands, which means that they run three times as long as your old machine and use half as much water. No kidding: takes about 3 hours to run a normal cycle, more if you "sanitize." This unit is indeed whisper quiet, though, so you don't notice it running all that time. We decided on this unit vs. a Bosch because you can't get a heating element in a Bosch any longer. As far as cleaning results, not as good as the machine it replaced. The machine cleans by running longer cycles with dirtier water, so set your expectations. While most dishes come clean, every load has more than a couple that aren't. We're still playing with arranging the dishes and trying different detergents; maybe we'll hit the sweet spot. And even with the heating element, there's always moisture and wet dishes. Still, buy this one if you need one. The EPA has proposed new rules that will require future machines to use even less water and power. One can only imagine the results those will produce.

    Worst Customer Service Experience

Best Buy delivered a dishwasher that was dented. However, we did not see the dent until it was installed. From that point, it has been a long, confusing, and convoluted journey. We originally purchased the dishwasher, and for our old machine to be uninstalled and the new one to be installed. Best Buy could NOT figure out how to schedule an appointment to get the dented machine out of our house and a new one in our house. They have come to our house FOUR times with a new machine but nobody to take out the old one. They finally sent somebody to uninstall the dented machine on a Saturday, but the uninstall of the new machine was not scheduled until the following Thursday. I am currently waiting for the new machine and we are 2 hours past the 4 hour time slot, with NO PHONE CALL OR UPDATE. I have called the 1-800 number about 200 throughout this process. So far three times today just to get the status of the delivery. Each time I get different answers and get put on hold. I can say with certainty that I will never purchase from Best Buy again.

    Great dishwasher / bad install

I shopped around and no one could beat Best Buys price and free installation. I waited several weeks for the free install and when it got scheduled the guy was very accomadating. He called 30 minutes before he showed to install the dishwasher and I left work to meet him at my house. I don't generally judge people from first impression but I was happy I met them and it wasn't my wife who met them to do the install. If you know what I mean. The two guys spent about 30 minutes and the install was finished. I offered the guy $20 for lunch and he and his partner took off and I did the same. My wife came home before me and call to say how happy she was to finally have the new dishwasher installed. She was a little concerned that when she opened the dishwasher door the shelved rolled out but I told her they probably needed to be adjusted. When I got home I saw the dishwasher was installed with the top tilted out so the racks rolled out whenever you opened the door. I read the directions and found the installers didn't adjust the rear wheels to allow it to be level. I didn't call those guys back, I disconnected the dishwasher and adjusted the wheels myself and now everything works fine. I was surprised no one from Best Buy ever asked if I was happy, no quality control. But we love the Kitchen Aid dishwasher.

The dishwasher had a broken motor found on installation. After a tortuous return and replacement, the second had the same problem. The motor is exposed below the unit , and is made of plastic. Could have happened in delivery who knows. I bought a Bosch after this to replace and love it.

Plastic and non plastic items do not dry even when the heat setting is used. Disappointed with the number of items the dishwasher will hold. The only positive attribute is how quitely the unit runs.

    4.5 stars, great dishwasher

Amazingly quiet, does a good job getting maybe 98 percent of the dirt. Love the way the middle rack can adjust to accomodate larger glasses on the 2nd rack or larger dishes on the bottom rack. The top silverware rack is good for large utensils or anything flat that might not fit easily into bottom rack. But the individual dividers on the top rack are not deep enough IMO to use the intended way for silverware. Overall though, great buy, great value after six months of good use. Worked out even better when I was able to get it with free installation from BB as well. Important note, this model, as well as several others by Kitchenaid, are open on the bottom. That may be important to some buyers such as myself. I originally wanted to order a different brand but they were all CLOSED on the bottom. And since my cabinet opening and electric supply/water hose were all intended for OPEN bottom dishwashers, the installers would not even attempt to install unless the model was OPEN bottom.

Chose this machine because it was supposed to be very quiet. It's louder than my 7 year old dishwasher. After being installed only a couple weeks I realized it was leaking. I have a repair scheduled. Don't know yet what will be done. In addition the top tray will not hold silverware on its side. Don't like the machine.

After installation, the dishwasher leaked from the bottom of the bowl. Appeared to be an issue from the manufacturing process. Therefore the product got returned.
