Summary—After owning the blender for a week I can say it does what it’s supposed to quite well. Crushing ice is no problem whatsoever. Mix in some ingredients and off you go. If you forget to add a splash of milk, juice, puree, or anything else screw off the center top and add it without removing the entire lid. It comes with 3 speeds, which you turn the dial to, and a “ice crush” mode. The top cover makes a very secure seal as I’ve tested filling with water and tilting on its sides to allow the water to reach the lid. The only area which isn’t leak-proof is the center cap which leaks water if turned upside down. Something of a thicker consistency such as salsa or a smoothie would have a tougher time leaking during blending. There’s an added base which seats over the existing blades and allows for direct use of the included jars which lets you blend and go. But despite all the positives there’s a few things that bother me. First, the “ice crush” mode doesn’t quite do what the features state, “The unique asymmetric blade blends at four distinct angles to pull ice into the center”. In all my attempts at blending ice the blades don't seem to pull the cubes in, instead it’ll blend everything directly above the blades and leave the ice on the side walls there. Eventually just the blades spinning and nothing more blending. It’s my belief that this is due to the pitcher being made of a hard plastic rather than glass. To fix this just add a splash of water/juice and everything crushes just fine. The second, which I mentioned in the first, is the pitcher is plastic and not glass. If I were out shopping for a blender my choices would be those with a glass container as glass is more hygienic than plastic. Wow. this thing has some power. Can't beat the ninja that I have but it works really well to Make my shakes . Frozen fruit zero problems. Love the minimal look and matches my other appliances. Clean up is quick and easy. But please take caution when cleaning. Those blades are sharp on both blender blades. 1 blade setup for the larger container and one for the personal cup.

Blender broke on me mid blend. I am a small business owner and use my blender frequently. I hadnt had it for a month yet and it gave out. Do not recommend

Broke immediately, I just purchased this blender and it cracked making a huge mess.

We picked up the KitchenAid K150 to match our other KitchenAid appliances, we have the dishwasher and stand mixer. This company just never misses on quality, and that shows with this product just like all the others. The cups are great to make a quick smoothie on the go, or for a shake for the kids. The large pitcher will be excellent for margaritas! The volume level on this setup is much less than other blenders we have owned in the past! It isn't silent (impossible), but it is much better than others on the market. If you are looking for a blender that looks good on the counter, with a premium build quality look no further!

It crushes ice to Margarita ready in less than 30 seconds. Smoothies - easy. Love the individual containers that connect directly so you only make what you will consume. Aesthetics are important, it is an easy to clean matt black. Works as well as the high end brand. No disappointment here, great machine Kitchenaid.

Really enjoy having this blender. The name says it all "Ice crushing blender". The pitcher is perfect for margaritas and daiquiris. The 2 personal cups are great for a smoothie in the morning leaving you only the cup itself to wash rather than the whole pitcher plus whatever cup you pour it in. Strong motor and sharp blades make quick work of anything. This has actually completely replaced our previous standard KitchenAid blender due to its ease of use/cleanup and it has a smaller footprint while left out on the counter.

We made smoothies and margaritas all day and this never missed a beat. I have a few other blender options and I will be using this one over those for just the shear ice crushing power. Everything mixes thoroughly and is delicious every time! Highly recommended if you're looking for a monster ice crusher!
