It’s a good camera for someone starting out with photography!

Starting from second use, the camera constantly freezes and becomes unresponsive, even with fully charged batteries. No buttons work including the power button. The battery has to be ejected and reinserted to reboot the camera. On a full day of use, I had to do this at least 5 times. Did I get a dud?
The zoom mechanism is sticky and frustrating to use. It sticks when trying to zoom all the way, zooms all the way when trying to zoom just a little, sometimes has a delay, or sometimes doesn't work at all (even if the camera is not frozen as above).
Image quality is disappointing. Iphone and Samsung photos taken in the same exact context look much better--sharper focus, richer colors. It's difficult to stabilize this camera resulting in blurry pictures more often than the same photo being taken with a phone.
As others mentioned, it's quite difficult to see what you're shooting in daylight.
On the positive, it does deliver on the 2 points I bought it for: high zoom capability and comfortable grip. However, it's difficult to focus when zoomed.
I wasn't expecting pro-quality images, but I'd hope images would be somewhat comparable to phone cameras. It fails miserably on that point and adds frustration of use.
