Now that I have Atmos set up, I am seeking out Atmos movies to enjoy the sound. I am glad I utilize dual VTF-15's to handle the LFE in this movie. From the bass to the surround effects, I loved this movie. I watched it for the audio experience. When I upgrade to a 4K TV, then I will be able to comment on look of the movie. Until then I can say the soundtrack does not disappoint and I actually liked the movie. It was a great version of Kong and refreshing to have it done in the way they did in this movie. Its not going to win academy awards, its a megalithic monster movie, but it will most certainly entertain for the time you are engaged with it.

A very interesting blend of the Viet Nam era to the early WWII era. It makes it very intresting with a sequel to Godilla vs Kong which was the next movie following this one.The 3D version is much better thand the 2D one. Would be nice if it is in 4D.

Director Jordan Vogt-Roberts brings delivers an incredible monster movie featuring an all star cast, a great creature design for Kong and gorgeous cinematography by Larry Fong. Unlike the recent 'Godzilla' movies much of the action takes place in bright sunlight and the staging never gets confusing. This is not a film to over analyze. It's meant to be a rollicking, old-fashioned adventure/monster film and it completely delivers. Picture and sound is phenomenal with set pieces that you'll want to use to show off your home theater set-up. A very fun and thrilling flick!

. An intense horror movie! Redefines the genre by delivering a solid plot with a scary lead actor and multiple chilling moments. A little bit of pacing issues could've been handled well but the end takes the viewer by surprise. Christian Bale is effective. I first saw him as Batman and now as Bateman...His performance is outstanding! It's hard to decide which genre it actually comes under because it blends multiple genres: horror, drama, crime, thriller etc. But I would classify it as horror because even without the chills, the lead character still is pretty menacing.

This is one of the best movies I added to my collection, an alternate version of the original well made with great actors, awesome FX and a lot of action!!! I've seen this movie so many times and still enjoy it like the first time, finally got the 4K Ultra HD Blur-ray version and it's incredible. Great story, good lead in for future movies. You will watch this movie over and over!!!

I worry about remakes cause they usually do the same story as the original with just more up-to-date special effects. But this one only kept the original premise: people going to unknown island and find King Kong and now it's survival on the island while also dealing with personal demons. I can't wait for the matchup of Kong and Godzilla

I first saw this movie on DVD when it came out and really enjoyed it. I thought it would look great on my new 4K player and bought in that format. I can see some differences but not as much as I though I would have. If you can get it for a good price then buy it in 4K. It sounded pretty good in regular DVD format.

I've seen this movie four times, once in a theater and three times on Blu ray, and I am still not sure Kong as a metaphor for Vietnam works. But the film sure does! This is the best Kong since the original. Not overblown or pompous like the Peter Jackson version (and no Jack Black, a real plus), or cheap like the 1970s version, KONG SKULL ISLAND is a winner.

I saw this wanting action and stuff but was surprised by how invested i was and then fully blown away by the immaculate special effects. Watch before seeing Godzilla: King of the Monsters to appreciate small moment more in the movie...and then rev up for the Godzilla v Kong sequel in 2020!

Here is another 4K title that is well worth the price for it. 4K definitely makes everything seem more lifelike and realistic. It is also has ties to Godzilla : King Of The Monsters, as Godzilla vs. Kong is expected to be a theatrical release some time in the not too distant future.

I already owned this on Blu-ray but re-bought on 4k as I'm a big Godzilla/Kong fan. Was absolutely worth it. I was a bit nervous that watching this in 4k might ruin the special effects with Long but that was absolutely not the case. He looks amazing and the colors were incredible!

Loved this movie, always loved King Kong and its an excellent movie in the monster verse

Just what you'd expect and better - Big monsters vs humans and big monsters vs other big monsters. Good writing with an excellent cast, top-notch FX and production values, and great music too. Probably my favorite of the recent slate of big monster movies.

My favorite movie in a long, long time. It rekindled what it was like to see Jurassic Park for the first time as a middle schooler. I loved Kong. Characters are great and worth caring for, and the fight... oh the fights, wow. I can't stop watching this movie.

I'm a big fan of the current monsterverse series with Godzilla, King Kong and company. Tons of action, great effects and a cool plot. There are several scenes in this that really show off the HDR component. This is one I'll watch over and over.

I seen several "King Kong" movies, but this one really got you in your face! No one comes in his zone, man or beast! This "King Kong" was very logical and BIG! Very exciting , the cast also gave a good showing also. Funny, serious and ruthless!

This film is entertaining enough to stand on its own, though inconsistencies with details from Peter Jackson's 2005 King Kong are a minor annoyance. However, the UHD picture and sound are absolutely first rate, so if you like the film, don't hesitate to upgrade to the 4K version.

I didn't think that they could pull off another King Kong film but this one took me by surprise. Interesting story plot and a good cast that provides a fun ride in a not-so predictable plot. A Good action/adventure movie to add to your favorites.

Love King Kong. I’ve watched all of the movies. Love them for what they were at the time of their release. This one is no exception. Love the actors and hate when Kong dies as I have in all the rest. A must have for lovers of King Kong.
