Basically they make the thumb sticks longer which increases the physical movement of the stick. In other words, you can move the reticule on your screen a hair without overcorrecting

Bad review on a used product received only.

It was purchased as a Christmas gift for my nephew and the box it was not only mangled but the clearly already opened and maybe used. It was not damaged from the shipment as it was well protected in a bubble wrapped bag they just sent it that way. I am returning today but again it was purchased as a gift so review is not on the product itself but just so disappointed in this purchase.
