Love this movie. Over the top but in fun ways. It was like an Anime with live actors.

anyone with a sense of humor and willing to give this movie its due, should come away pleasantly surprised. it has a little bit of everything, humor, drama, action, a love story, and pretty good special effects, all blended together in a believable (in a looney tunes-kind-of-way) depiction of wandering street-hoodlum-to-hero story. don't judge a book by it's cover, don't dismiss this movie as "not worth watching", I own it on dvd already, picked it up for $2.99 on a special at bestbuy, which, like watching anything i've seen so far on blu-ray - is like watching for the first time. I dare anyone to watch this is and say something bad about it!

    Excellent Value

A fantastic movie made even better by it's low price. For this rock bottom price you get the widescreen version as well as an hour of extras. There are several interviews with Stefan Chow the director, writer, producer and lead actor of Kung Fu Hustle. The only thing that was less than ideal was that the English dubbing changed alot of the dialog around to fit the amount of time that the actors were talking. If you watch it in Chinese with English subtitles (as it was in the theatrical release) it's perfect. If you don't have this in Kung Fu comedy in your collection you should. Own the highest grossing Hong Kong release today.

Definitely an interesting sort of Xanxia parody flick with a few serious moments mixed in with the amazing comedy. Not sure if it was intentional yet to me the subpar CGI just adds to the comedy. I’m not familar with Chinese cinema so i was glad I took the time to check this movie out after hearing so mang postive comments about it. Can’t wait to see some more of Stephen Chow’s work.

action comedy to new heights (literally)

After the first receptive directoral debut of Stephen Chow with Shaolin Soccer, he trumps himself with an even more polished high production film with Kung Fu Hustle (originally named just "Kung Fu") Relentless gut busting comedy with Wu Ping (matrix choreographer) knowhow wielding some of the most amazing stylized fights with a comic book flair. Stephen shamelessly borrows and pays tributes to many of his heros of his time. Original 5.1 soundtrack is not available through the ps3 as a player only a 2.0. And english dub is available is my only gripe. This an entertainer for all ages.

Stephen Chow continues the martial arts excellence with Hustle, his follow up to Shaolin Soccer. This is not your typical Kung Fu movie, and is loaded with wonderfully bizarre moments, interesting characters, and some little easter eggs for the fans. If you like Kung Fu movies and have a sense of humor, or just like good directing, this is definitely worth checking out.

This film is so insane. The best way I could describe Kung Fu Hustle would be a cross between The Matrix and the Looney Tunes cartoons. Stephen Chow, the lead actor, writer and directer, does a great job. I'm surprised he isn't more well known. The movie is really entertaining.

    Real Life Anime

Kung Fu Hustle is one of those movies I picked up when Bluray was first coming out and I didn't have much to choose from. The novelty of high-def was at its peak for me and I was just out trying to find movies I thought I'd like on Bluray. That being said, I am VERY happy with my decision! Described to me as a real-life anime, I had my doubts initially about Hustle's ability to amuse me, but boy did it! This movie is all about two things- slapstick comedy and well-staged fighting. Both it pulls off VERY well! From the hilarious storyline and characters to the amazing fight scenes, Kung Fu Hustle is a great movie to watch whenever you just want to sit in awe and watch art unfold! Highly stylized to the extreme, it may be a little over-the-top for some, but it nonetheless impressed me more than the Matrix trilogy!

I loved this movie when I was a kid. So I was glad to see it for a pretty good price. If you haven't noticed, DVDs require you to turn your surround up higher whereas blu-rays don't require you to turn up your surround system as much. I was pleasantly surprised how the sound quality was which was superb. The extras are just basic, nothing new. The movie and plot is enjoyable as it was when I first watched it.

Sweet movie with terrific action sequences. If you watch Jet Li and Jackie Chan movies this one is up your alley. It may appear silly at times but keep watching. It really is a hidden gem of a movie. Compared to Shaolin Soccer - this one's better, IMO.
