It's no wonder that this kinetic treat spawned an American remake and two television series and was arguably the inspiration for cultural icons like Alias and Salt. Conceptually strong and full of distinct and shocking moments it continues to impress after 20 years. The blu-ray transfer offers rich visuals and sound (even dubbed). If you're jonesing for an interesting and unique spy thriller, look no further.

No matter how good this character/story has been portrayed via film or serials--or copy cats--this Luc Besson thriller has the luck of having Anne Parilloud as Nikita in a tour-de-force performance. It also served to really launch Jean Rino and Tcheky Karyo into the US/world market. Great action, acting, editing, plot. I wonder how it would have turned had it been made in today's advanced world of CGI. Lastly, tt was a steal at the reduced price.

It zapped right by me the this French made movie was subtitled. However, the more I got into it and caught up on my 'speedy reading' course in college, I got along fine with it. I think over dubbing it would not have worked well. Was more curious than anything as I liked the Bridget Fonda adaptation. Still prefer the B.F. to this original but found some enjoyment here.

And I thought "Point of No Return" was pretty good as it was a remake of this blue ray DVD I found on sale. "La Femme Nikita" is way better with its foreign flick flair and the action scenes are superb! Great sale price at Best Buy for this DVD so this also sweetened the deal/experience!

Written and directed by Luc Besson. Any movie connected with him is entertaining. Remember "The Professional" and "The Fifth Element"? Well, this is another of his movies. This movie was so good they remade it in an American version and then they made a tv series out of it. Watch it.

This is some of Luc Besson's early work, though he is probably better known for Leon the Professional and the Fifth Element. If you're a fan of either those movies then I think you will appreciate this film greatly.

This is one of the shows that kick started the action chick flick. Watching in French is better because the English dub is terrible. In any case, glad to have this show on blu-ray.

This is the original, French-language version of the more popular film "Point of No Return". It is a much better and exciting than the remake. Also, the TV series Nikita is somewhat based on the this story.

The movie that started it all. Powerful female lead like most Lucy Beeson movies. Still better than the American movie and two t.v. shows it inspired.

This is a great foreign action flick and in a lot of ways if that's the way the American version starring Bridget Fonda. Loved the price!

This is a great French film from luc besson. Anyone that loves asassian movies will surely love this. Don't be afraid of subtitles.

Skip the American remake that was made later. This is the movie you will watch and enjoy. Plus get to see 'The Cleaner' in it.

I had heard about this film and wanted to see it. I found it somewhat disappointing - not the usual excitement and elegance of something by Luc Beeson. This is one of his first films, which explains a lot. Four years later (1994) he produces "Leon: The Professional", which is fantastic, and he has made many more fine films since. Its value lies in the historical perspective of Beeson's work.

Before they remade it as "Point of No Return" this wild original is a great action ride. Classic Luc Besson!

The American remake does this film some justice, but Besson's tale of this female assassin will always be superior.
