it works very well...speed is great also... i also like the fact that you can add an extra drive to it and boost it up to a raid drive... usb 3.0...

We have to ship images and data to our special effects team members and this drive does the job. It's compact, easy to use and the 1 TB makes this purchase a no brainer.

This hard drive is a bargain compared to other Thunderbolt drives. It's durable, fast, and easy to setup. I also use this as my emergency start up disk.

As far as hard drives that offer thunderbolt speeds, this is one of the best out there. It's super portable. The data cable just tucks right back into the side so you never have to worry about losing another pesky cable. With the rubber sides, you can feel at ease knowing it can withstand a drop if it were to happen. Setup is easy and straightforward on the Mac. Overall, I am really satisfied with the product.

I appreciate the fact that someone has finally developed a portable external drive with thunderbolt capabilities! Very fast!

Until something bad happens to it, I rate this five stars. I've had it since August so far and it's very durable and reliable.

there's one thunderbolt connector on this and we had to find a special adapter to connect this to the computer. otherwise, the transfer would take forever. Also, the drive is found in the store with the Mac accessories. I originally looked for it among the portable hard drives. If i hadn't asked a sales associate, i would have assumed that Best Buy didn't carry them.

I bought this when I was getting rid of my personal PC and giving it to a friend. I have a Mac now and wanted to be sure I was able to load pictures. I like the formatting software that comes with it. I was able to partition the drive so that I only used space that I needed to get my stuff from my PC and the rest of the drive is usable with my Mac.

Overall it is a good drive for travelling. Even though it is Thunderbolt, the drive speed is not as fast as it should be, even on a brand new Mac Pro. I was using it for video rendering and editing and was not highly impressed. This is however one of the fastest drives you can find for the price. I had to upgrade this to a Thuderbolt 2 Little Big Drive, and that drive is substantially faster. The other problem I noticed with this drive was that I had to do a repair disk on it several times from my Mac.

We needed more space in a mac book air. This device was recommended by the GeekSquad. I took it home installed it then moved most of the bid items on the LaCie. It's great! Now we can make more movies.

This is the fastest external hard drive! Also love that it is rugged, and unlike the Seagate drives, no pieces come loose!

I spent a lot of time researching this and other drives; prob too much time. I finally jumped in and purchased the drive thinking that the drive speed would be less than stellar as compared to the newer 1GB Flash drives. I plugged this into my laptop and holy shnikey... This drive halls butt. I wish I had made this purchase about a year earlier!!! Fast, cheap enough and very easy to use.

This product does what it says it will... But on top of that it's lightning fast, which it says as well but I didn't know it would be that good!!

I needed my hard drive to be able to withstand a few bumps and bruises along the way and this was the perfect fit. Great quality and fast external hard drive that can handle a beating.

This is a great headdrive with both Thunderbolt and USB 3 capabilities. An outstanding product from LaCie.

This is my third LaCie and I love them. My first was identical to this one and my second is a four tb drive. They are extremely fast with the lightening cable, I have never used the USB that comes in the package with it so I don't know how it compares. I absolutely love that the cord is attached, and winds around the drive for safe keeping. The orange is a lot more visible in my bag, so it's always easy to find.
