Layton's Mystery Journey is a welcome addition to the Layton series. Just like previous games, you solve mysteries by solving small puzzles. However, unlike the previous games, Layton is not the main character. Instead, Katrielle, his daughter, is the protagonist. Additionally, the game is divided into twelve cases instead of a single large story. Overall, I thought the cases were less interesting than the long story format, but the puzzles were as good as ever. If you're into the Layton series, this is definitely worth picking up.

If you have ever played professor layton then you know what you're getting here. Studio gibli style graphics mixed with my inspector homes mystery solving gameplay. But this time featuring a young female lead. Fun stuff.

I had no idea that I liked the Layton series as this is the first one I've ever played. I'm normally an action/adventure game guy and tend to shy away from puzzle games because I don't have the time for them. Having said that, I played this and nothing BUT this from beginning to end over the period of about 3 days. That's with a full-time job and a family, mind you. It's really very good and I'm anxious to go back and discover the older titles in the series. Highly recommended.

Loved the other games and this one is still my favorite! Easy to follow the story, puzzles are fun but some challenging.

This game falls right in line with other Professor Layton games-has a story line but is driven by the puzzles.

I really like this game but don't go in expecting the same old Layton games. Still very good puzzles but the game is really linear and it's very much story/ dialogue heavy so you could end up solving 2 or 3 puzzles, then 5-10 minutes of story, then puzzles, then story, etc... Don't get me wrong, the dialogue is very interesting, it's just that I got this game for the puzzles. If I wanted a visual novel I would have played Ace Attorney. Also the stories are broken down into chapters so you end up solving a small mystery every chapter as opposed to the previous games where there's one giant one. Overall the game is great, I just wasn't expecting the game to be presented this way.

Like my summary said, you will feel right at home if you've played and enjoyed all of the previous games in the series. It's also very good to start with this one because it seems to be the start of a new series in the Professor Layton series of games.

This is the first Layton game I've played in the series and not sure how the rest are, but I'm really enjoying it. Some of the puzzles can be quite challenging. Haven't finished it yet, but it's been very fun so far.

Even though this is a single player game, I have been playing this with my girlfriend and solving puzzles together. We both really enjoy the different types of puzzles available.

Layton never fails to disappoint and the newest entry brings so many new things to the table, it's like the series is starting over without forgetting everything it's been through.

The story this time around is fun, and light-hearted compared to some of the previous mysteries. The puzzles leave a little bit to be desired, but overall a fun package.

While this one took a different turn compared to the typical Layton games, it still kept to the heart of the series and was an enjoyable play through.

It's a continuation of the Professor Layton series with a new protagonist that hits the right puzzle beats for fans of the series. A thinking man's game.

This is a really cool game! A must have. Solving the mystery is a blast!!!!

My wife loves playing these games. So I bought her this one to complete the series until a new one comes out.

Bought as a gift for a 45 yr old. She has played all the Professor Layton games and thus has not disappointed.

This mystery/puzzle game is great for both beginners and those familiar with the franchise.
