Texas could keep going after the surprisingly refreshing Texas Chainsaw 3D. This entry keeps the legend alive but acts like more of a placeholder for a truly classic 9th film, fingers crossed. Great packaging. Ranked best to worst: 2, 7, 1, 3, 5, Leatherface, 4, 6.

This movie does what a good prequel should do. Gives enough back-story to fill in the gaps of "Why?" & "How?". Also, has Tobe Hooper on board as well & pretty much non-stop from beginning to end.

Leatherface is a decent attempt to weave together perhaps "un-weave-able" elements that have dotted the many previous Texas Chain Saw Massacre films, but that attempt may have simply been a fool's errand (I mean, the guy has a mask and a chainsaw, what more do you really need to know about him?). The film is very strong on style even if substance gets left by the wayside, and so those who are in the sweet spot of the Venn diagram featuring Texas Chain Saw Massacre fans and habitues of Art House fare may well want to check Leatherface out, whatever its inherent deficiencies. Technical merits are strong for those considering a purchase.

Finally... another origin story to erase the mystery of a horror icon. Leatherface is not a great movie but it's also not the worst in the franchise. There is some nice violence and strong performances too. Great direction... worth a look

I have seen this movie at least 6 times. I was very disappointed with Lions Gate for releasing the movie in a rated R format. I have an all region player so I bought the Unrated Steele-book from Germany. It is the ultimate Chainsaw flick with all the gore intact. I recommend if you have an all region player to get it from Amazon Germany. It is worth it. The story is a prequel that shows how Leatherface became Leatherface. It is wild because the guy you think is Leatherface isn't . You sill see what I mean. The movie was the last movie Tobe Hooper worked on before his death. I really enjoyed this one.

Picked this up at random when shopping. Been a fan of horror films for 30+ years and a fan of the TCM films. This one has a good amount of scares and gore, nothing special but def not disappointing. Bluray has standard features.

I’ve seen most of the other Leatherface/ Texas chainsaw movies. This film was just all over the place in terms of pacing and the plot. Image quality is great on the blu ray but the movie is a 2/5 for me.

Solid casting, good story mixed with a few surprises. IMO a must see for fans of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise. I did not see the ending coming and the character that you think is going to be Leatherface is not.

I am surprised more movies are going straight VOD and DVD/Blu Ray. This is a movie that could have made some money in the theatres. I enjoyed this movie and was better then some of the other Texas Chain Saw Massacre.

Different take on the Texas Chainsaw movies. Was different and interesting. Didn't seem like other remakes or prequels. Their was some thought put into this to develop the characters back story.

I am a huge fan of horror, and I missed this when it first was out. Figured, 8 bucks why not. A totally different take on Leatherface, but not all that bad. Not for the squeamish

An unnecessary film in the Texas Chainsaw franchise, but entertaining enough to buy it on blu ray. If you're a fan then yeah, buy this.

Not a bad leather face movie and not a good one! I was not mad it it but it was overall okay!

This turned out to be a lot better than I thought it was going to be. If your a fan of the series, I would pick it up.

Leatherface was not my favorite movie in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre series, but I like that it was a prequel. Also the price is reasonable at $7.99.

Do not expect what you already love from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. This movie is slow at times but if you are a true fan, you'll enjoy this movie.

Purchased this to fill out my horror movie collection. Recommended of you are a horror movie fan.

Being a fan of all of the TCM movies, I saw this one day at BB, for a really low price, so I added to my collection. It's not a bad movie.

I was pleasantly surprised with this movie. Especially considering I stumbled upon it in the store. If you enjoy TCM you will enjoy this.
