The only downside is the battery life can be somewhat lacking if you're coming from something like an Ally X. I upgraded from a steamdeck OLED and don't regret a thing.

The chip is able to get decent performance and vrr helps with smoothness so i can see why Asus said they wanted vrr over oled. Having steam OS means you can suspend play which is the big bonus for handhelds for me. Overall after paying 749.99 for it I'm happy with it.

Good (not great) handheld

The screen is nice, but not oled and the battery life is abysmal. However it has nice hp and ran most games well above acceptable levels.

While the Legion Go S may lower battery threshold compared to more expensive handhelds with larger batteries, we strive to provide the best experience possible, so we'd like to share some tips on how to help with this.
Regarding the battery life, depending on the demand of the game you're playing, by pressing the Legion R button to launch the quick menu, you can switch to lower power mode to save battery. In the menu, under the performance tab, users can toggle thermal modes and prioritize battery life by using the default mode or creating a custom thermal mode should you not be satisfied with the 3 presets. These adjustments can also be made by going into Legion Space > Settings (Legion Space can be launched quickly by pressing the Legion L button (Legion Logo above the button).

Really slow, not for demanding games

It was extremely painfully slow at downloading updates. Even at low settings, there was stuttering, freezing, and artifacts in games. The one good thing was the display, which was great! Such a bad experience overall, I returned it.

I hadn’t noticed until today that it was supposed to have come with one. Othee than that it plats well, still figurng out some kinks with it.

Love Steam OS but not the device

The simplicity of just being able to game without the cluter of windows is amazing. Steam OS is truly the future of gamjng in my opinion. As a dad the ability to simply put the device to sleep and pick it back up anytime is amazing. There are even work arounds to get xbox game pass games working which is great. With that said you have to put in a ton of work to get other games from other stores working and that kinda a pain. With that said its still leaps and bounds a better experience than windows for handheld gaming.
