Count Olaf takes in two children to care for them after their house was mysteriously destroyed and their parents killed. Something is not right, and the brooding tension of the children's situation makes for an exciting film.

This is one of the best underrated family movies. Our whole family loves watching it again and again. The dialogue is hilarious. Great performances by Jim Carey, Merril Streep, and the children.

Great casting for a dark, yet humourous, movie for children. Explores the lives of the Baudelaire children after their parents die in a house fire and then go to live with their distant relative Count Olaf.

This is a wonderful family film. A little dark for some under 10s but a fun and wonderful adventure for both kids and parents. Some great actors move in and out of the outrageous plot.

I have never read the books that goes with this movie but my daughter has and she really wanted to have this movie. It turned out to be a really good movie. I am glad that I bought it.

My son has read the entire Lemony Snicket series and I thought this would be a good movie for family movie night. I was correct!! All 4 of us enjoyed the movie!! Good fun for all ages...45+ to 8!!!

Hes such an extroardinary actor with great range& he proves it in this movie.it has long been one of my favorites& I'm happy to add it to my collection so my G-children can watch it as well.

Jim Carrey is great in this and the production is high quality. A little scary for the real young kids, but very imaginative and visually interesting.

I hav read ALL the books in this series, and the movie was TRUE to the written vesion. Fun, scary, exciting, and crazy, it really captured our 4yr. Olds attention, iy was GREAT!

Excellent adaptation of the first three books in the series

This is a creepy portrayal of what it is like to be an orphan. The author used imagination and soared. It is well acted and adapted to screen.

This movie contains certain meanings that I can relate with and my young adults children loved it also it bought us happy Tears

As usual Jim Carrey is doing his best to entertain and Meryl Streep did a good job as usual. Can't wait for further episodes to come!
