The battery was an after market item, not manufactured by Toshiba. It did not properly snap into place, thereby not allowing for full engagement of contacts.
In addition, I purchased this item through Best Buy online and when I tried to return it as such I was directed by Best Buy to a parts warehouse who could not only not correlate the purchase order number on my invoice to the number that they had, they could not assist me further, suggesting only that I contact the nearest Best Buy store. I ultimately returned the item to Best Buy in person, and then purchased a new battery from Toshiba direct.
I will never again purchase parts from Best Buy online but rather instead will purchase original replacement parts from the manufacturer.
