I'm happy it has an optical drive. It was ready to go out of the box. I easily installed her few apps. She loves the machine. It was a good price and a nice piece of equipment.

When he got it for his bday and started using it. He had hardly any questions with me there to help him set it up and use. Lenovo is my favorite brand of computers

Easy to replace the hard drive with an SSD (Crucial) - instructions on Lenovo's site. No need to remove battery if you are careful. Just pull the plug out gently and your good.

I decided to look for a laptop that would meet my needs but for a LOT less. The machine has a great keyboard, is easy to use and cost about $1,700 less. Couldn't ask for a better machine.

Posted .This system should be a fast system with its AMD A12 processor and 8GB of RAM. It is normal for the fan within this system to run to keep the system within normal operating temperatures. You will be able to hear the fan when it is running. This is normal. Start up should not be slow. Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programing errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults.

Not too many aesthetic features (looks pretty plain, not a whole lot of lights, no backlighting on the keyboard) and no touchscreen or anything. But for the price you're getting 8 gigs of RAM and a terabyte hard drive which is mainly what I was looking for, along with the disc drive. Only 2 USB ports which isn't exactly ideal and I'm not a fan of the ethernet port (has some weird springloaded cover thing that doubles as the cable retainer clip). I didn't find a better deal in this price range anywhere else I looked.

Has a decent build, one drawback is that it doesn't have the backlit keyboard and the finish is plastic and not metallic

Only issue we've run into is battery life. It seems like Battery life on this computer is not the best. Max 3-4 hours. Other than that, rad computer for what its worth.
