Purchased for my mother who was using an older Satellite. She accidentally updated to Windows 10 a few years back. After playing with this new Lenovo, I really hope 7 will always be around. I have been spending the last week trying to remove any & all bloat-ware, be it Lenovo or Microsoft. Also every time I turn it on, there is a new pop-up requiring an answer be it, “update or accept”, etc. I don’t really want her calling me every day asking if it’s okay to click “ok”. It just seems there are so many background programs running and it takes 7-8 minutes from start-up until it calms down enough to begin surfing/working efficiently. The system will go into “power saving mode” when using only the battery. This really appears to dull the already somewhat slow performance even more. Battery seems okay for a 2 cell battery but since she never takes it away from the house, plugged-in will be the normal operating mode. I read one post stating the CPU is only 2.70 w/o any boost. This may be the case when unplugged but if the task manager is correct, it apparently goes even beyond 3.60 GHz (see screenshot). The stranger thing is, why is the CPU maxing out in basically idle mode? The CPU is constantly working – must be all the background aps which are dragging out the performance. Three cores running pretty hard for some reason... oh well, good thing it's a Quad-core. Hopefully my mother will not have any issues once I hand it over. I give Windows 10 a generous (3), the hardware a (4) and the price a (5) bringing this to a 4 star review.

I bought this from best buy when it was on sale for 300 dollars. It's a good option for people who can't afford a real gaming laptop who want to still play games. Be advised though it won't be at ultra settings at 4k resolution. I'm currently playing prey on low settings and have no problems. The only 2 things I don't like is the fan running and the touch pad. The fan runs whenever it wants for whatever reason. It doesn't seem to affect performance and it was only a 300 dollar laptop. Also I keep brushing the touchpad when I play games. My advice is reset windows 10 and get rid of the extra programs that are on the hard drive if you can't afford anything else. I put in a ssd and extra ram and it runs really well now

For the price there's a decently bright screen capable of 720p most the time refreshing isn't noticeable. The hinging won't accommodate 2 in 1. For the price there's a 2.0 speaker arrangement mounted toward the front lower edge of the base. Sound fidelity is better about 1m distant. For the price there's a large keyboard not backlighted. For the price there's a large AC power wall wart that can recharge internal batteries while in-use @ 2+ hour. The DC link cord is about 1.5m long. On batteries, the processor locked @ 100%, battery performance is about 3 hours. For the price there's a jack for head phone/microphone. This accommodates better audio pick-up the internal mic is a bit hollow sounding. Maybe I used "For the price" too much but this unit is 1/3 price of a gaming system. Rigid plastic is used through-out with a minimal of flex on either half. Be prepared with Microsoft knowledge when operating Windows 10 with Edge browser and Cortana voice assistant. Wi-Fi is multiple channel 802.11n works good. Bluetooth duplicated screen and sound to a Roku TV with video fidelity slightly lower. AMD A12 7th generation processor can be overwhelmed with high level activity. The hard drive is mechanical but fair to quieter while operating. The fan vent is on the bottom of lower half and varies speed with processor demands, restrict the grill on a lap and it will roar. With power set to complete shut-down, start-up is about 3 minutes.

it's a nice basic laptop, lots of memory, but the battery does not last more then 2 hours fully charged and the fan is a little loud, the camera is not good either. It's good for surfing the web and social media apps, and lite gaming. It's best for students and First Time Users on a computer. I got it for a cheap price.

This system has a battery life of up to 4 hours, depending on the work that the device is performing. Be sure that there are no unwanted programs running in the background, draining the battery. Here is a link to some tips for finding out what is draining your battery:
https://www.laptopmag.com/articles/battery-saver-windows-10. Concerning the internal fan on this device, this is a high performance system with its AMD A12-9720P processor and 8GB of RAM. It will generate heat whenever it is turned on, even at idle, this is normal. The onboard fan will maintain the proper operating temperature for the device. You will hear the fan whenever it runs, this too is normal. This system has a 300p web cam built in. lenovo

The Lenovo Ideapad320 is a good overall laptop, with a AMD A12 and 8Gb RAM it's speed is aceptable, don't expect it to run games at 60fps in 4K!!! The pros are the features, RAM HD USB-C DVD-RW and the cons are the battery in my case I test it at roughly 3 hours. Another nice feature is that is light weight, however the interior were the keyboard and the mouse are, it has a metal finish keeping the surface smooth.

Lenovo - 320-15ABR 15.6" Laptop - If you need a laptop and you do not want to spend $900 - $2000 then this is the laptop for you. It is fast enough for most of us and will do the job on-line or off-line. Slim and great design, easy to slip it into your bag and go. Great for work, school or just about anything. Love all the room on the hard drive and the battery life is very good. This is not a blazing fast gaming computer, but it is a solid laptop for you to get the work done. It has all the bells and whistles we all need.

I mostly intended on using this laptop for school, but later discovered it was more than capable of average use; including daily browsing, some gaming, fast boot ups. Only gave it four stars because the battery lasts maybe 2-3 hours with max brightness (even when lightly using). But that's not really a problem if you bring the charger with you everywhere you go.

Purchased computer for the memory and price. Tech is plain but still decent. Came with a basic power cord. Battery life is blah. Rating of 4 only because it has 1TB and the price was on sale. None in store had to do delivery to home. Which was pretty awesome. Came 2 days earlier and in a huge box packed tightly.

This was an additional laptop for our family and is a really good deal for the price. It has plenty of memory.. AMD chip is actually pretty fast. We could have paid more for a touch screen but this has a really large, clear screen and was cheaper. For the price, I think this would be good for a student too.

Couple of weeks earlier bought HP - 15.6" Laptop - AMD A6-Series - 4GB Memory - AMD Radeon R4 - 500GB Hard Drive - . Was a piece of junk. Slower than a turtle with 2 broken legs. Would hang up quickly forcing a force shutdown. Returned it. Got the Lenovo so much better for only a few dollars more ($28) Fast fast fast. Never locks up, twice the Ram and twice the memory. Only bad reviews posted were about battery life but mine always plugged in. So far great purchase !!

Has plenty of speed and hard drive space for the price. Better than most of the $300 to $500 machines. This machine will do most of the things you need it to do. It holds a charge very well and surfs the web with ease. No need to spend $600 to $800 on the other machines if you need a solid workhorse.

If your looking for a reasonable price laptop that you can browse the internet and watch videos then this is for you. Thank you for choosing the Lenovo IdeaPad 320-15 laptop. With regard to the screen dimming when on battery power, it sounds like the power setting on your device is set to dim the screen to extend battery life, when on the battery. You can change this in the Control Panel Power settings on your device. You can get to these settings by clicking on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 screen. Type "Control Panel" in the search window. Select Control Panel from the list. In the Control Panel window that opens, type "Power" in the Control Panel Window search box at the top right of the Control Panel Window. It enter and select "Edit power plan" from the list. You will see the power settings for your device currently. Check the power settings for On Battery. There is a slider that adjusts screen brightness. Make sure this is set to match what the Plugged In slider is set at. When you are finished making adjustments, click "Save" at the bottom right of the window. lenovo
