I cannot say anything about a different laptop because this is my first purchase on a laptop in many years. So far I like the computer and will be using it for the duration of the life of the laptop.

This computer is the fastest I have ever seen boot up. Handles everything I have asked it to do. Will be purchasing two more of these for my adult children.

I didn't really care about hard drive space. I simply use it to watch full HD movies/videos, surf the web, and basic gaming. After two months of use I have no complaints. I could have bought a new laptop elsewhere but I did have $120 Best Buy gift card in addition to the $150 student deal which is main reason I purchased new laptop from best buy.
