Lenovo - G51 15.6 Laptop - AMD A8-Series - 8GB Memory - 1TB Hard Drive
Graphics memory goes to 4GB and will handle most demanding games.
Good enough for work and play. The 1TB hard drive should sustain you for some time.
One down side I found for me was the 4 cell battery. it doesn't last all day. Would recommend changing it to at least a 6-cell battery or more. Or use with an external battery top up for those who use their laptops on the road all day.
Otherwise great if used where you can plug in after 4 hours by which time you should be taking a break from the screen.

I wanted a computer with 8GB of memory and 1 TB hard drive.....and I did not want to spend 399.00 or more for it....I paid 299.00 for this Lenovo....Even the guy who rang up my laptop....said to me....8 gigs for this price......This is the first time that I have the AMD PROCESSOR....I always had Intel Processors....so...far no problems....I read many reviews of this Lenovo laptop before purchasing....I was not thrilled that this laptop was not on display in Best Buy stores...I read reviews about the flimsy keyboard....and yes....it does move down...when I press certain keys on the keyboard...like the d key.....j key...r key...etc...not all of them...but some...not happy about it.....and it is not made as good as my old HP laptop....Everything is made cheap these days........but....for the money....you cannot beat the price for the 8 gigs....The power plug is cheaply made.......It works fine though.......This is my first Lenovo...prior to this ...I had an HP and a Dell....Many people buy this laptop....I should know...when I tried to get it.....there were no more at the stores near me...This computer is now on clearance...at 319.99....still a good deal.....They have a Lenovo on display for 399.00 with an AMD 10 PROCESSOR. in the store.........8 Gigs of memory and 1 TB hard drive......This laptop is an AMD 8...and was 299.00.....They do have other cheaper laptops...but not with 8 gigs of memory....and 1TB hard drive....The price and memory was the reason why I purchased this laptop.

I don't need a laptop for gaming or video editing, so I didn't need a really powerful computer. I wanted more than the basic memory and hard drive space. This laptop delivers. The salesman suggested that I get an Intel i3 processor, as it was a similar speed to the AMD A8 processor in this laptop, but I can't see spending so much more to get a similar processor. I have had several computers with AMD processors and have always been happy with them. This computer is fast to boot up and has the memory and storage space to last a long time. The sound is good and the display is decent. The only negative is that battery life isn't what I expected, but it's not too bad either, and I can probably just upgrade the battery to a larger one if I want more time unplugged. Overall, I am happy with my purchase.

I have worked in IT for 18 yrs, and I bought this for my son for college. It is the best bang for the buck that I could find, even during the BlackFriday buying season. This is not a gaming laptop, so the A8 AMD cpu is perfect (imo). The 1366 X 768 display is considered HD but it is not the 1920 X 1080 which keeps the price reasonable. Its cons are: no touch screen, and no isometric joystick. Its pros: 1TB hard drive, 8GB ram, HD display, an AC network card, HDMI port, USB3 port, DVD drive, and the price. Durability and battery strength are yet to be seen, but Lenovo's seem to do well in both areas and replacement parts are available.

Good laptop for the price. Feels and looks cheaper than the Toshiba I had before. Windows 10 has issues but that is not Lenovo's fault. Speed with quad core processor is average. Was hoping for better performance in speed overall compared to the last laptop that is 7 years older technology. Easy set up and transfer of files. Plenty of USB ports ,sounds great, great hard drive space.

After 2 weeks of use:
This Lenovo laptop with AMD A8, 8GB RAM, AC Wifi,, Bluetooth, HDMI for $299 can not be beat. Yes, it is not perfect (number key 0 is small, no backlit keyboard) but again, for that price and that listed hardware is a great buy. It also comes with very little Lenovo software with is a plus since that does not bog down the space taken or resources used. I kept tabs on a lot of laptops the past several months and others at this price came no where near the hardware this one has. A similar spec for this hardware price would be around $450 refurbished!! I understand this model is discontinued but if you are somewhat computer literate, that will not matter. Just keep your updates going and all should be fine.
Again, I am very satisfied with this Lenovo laptop.

This computer had a lot of great specs including 8gb RAM and a big 1TB drive, the downside was you are not getting an Intel chip which of course can scare you. I must say I tried to do comparisons of chips online, trying to understand key aspects of chips, etc. What I think I saw and certainly now experience, is this chipset is great, at least as good as the i5, from Intel.
All in all this has been a great purchase and a solid laptop.

Perfect Laptop for Me

Pros:
-Easy to use
-Perfect for light gaming. (No Fallout or Witcher, but can run most indie and less graphic-intensive games)
-Good battery life
-Very quiet
Cons:
-Track pad gets stuck at times and I have to wait a moment for it to recalibrate.
-Changes volume at times on it's own, might be because of my power save options.
Summary:
It's easy to set up and is a great laptop for both work and leisure. The setup does take a little bit, but not nearly as long as people are saying. It connects to the wifi fine, so any complaints about that are most likely user-error.
Comes with Windows 10, which I find easy to use. Items install quickly and the computer runs quick.

I wasn't sure what to expect for a laptop priced at $300, but I was pleasantly surprised! The speed is decent and it runs well; so far no problems at all. The only downfall of this laptop is that it's quite heavy, but other than that it's a great deal!

i read some bad reviews so naturally had mix feelings about the perchase but couldnt pass up the deal.
**things to know:
the computer does not come with word, excel ect.
it comes with lenovo version which i didnt care for so i bought the service pack for students which isnt that much. thy sell them at best buy just ask someone for help if you cant find them.
the default browser is microsoft edge which really really sucked and did not work lol. luckily it also comes with the regular internet explorer which you have to look for in your start menu but, once you find it just make a desktop shortcut and youll be good to go. Now you have internet explorer on your desktop so just click on that instead of useing the microsoft edge internet thing lol. or use internet explorer to download your own favorite browser i.e. firefox, chrome. i think this is why people said this laptop did not connect to the internet, they were probably trying to use microsoft edge instead of useing internet explorer. i cant blame them because like i said you have to actually go into the start menu and look for internet explorer in order to make a desktop shortcut so you can use that as you web browser instead of edge.
this comoputer is great for casual use such as school work, browsing and downloading. has a 1tb hard drive which is great for saveing documenst, school work, or a whole bunch of music.
the computer is fast and is responsive i personally havent had any problems with i, the screen looks really good and the sound is actually really good too i was surprised. i dont play games on this computer because this laptop was purchased specifically for school and just casual everday use.

Seems to be just what I needed. I'm not much for doing all my computing on one of the smart phones and prefer the bigger screen of a laptop. This one had more memory and a larger hard drive than my previous laptop which I needed due to saving more photos and documents than I had expected. So far everything is good with this laptop.
