Beware of purchasing refurbished!

The laptop arrived, IN MY FAVORITE COLOR, it worked fine, was clean, and no obvious damage. Lovely! Imagine my surprise when a few days later I go to open it only for one of the hinges to get stuck and totally snap the screen frame and crack my screen! I wasn’t worried because I had GSP and was within the return period, so I just took it in to hopefully be sent off to repair. Unfortunatly, since it was a refurbished laptop, it does not qualify to be repaired under GSP. I DID NOT KNOW THIS WHEN I BOUGHT IT!! So, I ended up having to exchange my laptop for a similarly-priced one in store. Please be cautious when buying ANYTHING refurbished! If you’re picking it up, make sure to test it out in the store, and just know that if it gets damaged that Geek Squad CANNOT send it to a service center, so you better hope the repair can be done in the store.

I will be hesitant to purchase a refurbished computer from best buy again. the device works fine now, but i had to work with geek squad 3 times. once over the phone for an hour and twice in person. i live a full 2 hours from the nearest best buy and this is a hassel. the computer works fine now, really well in fact. lenovo seems to do a good job of not installing too much bloat wear. the case and all parts seem well built. the keyboard is small but i have an external one that helps. if if wasnt for all of the issues i laid out earlier, i would rate this computer higher.

The item was great and all good but the power bottom was broken and the computer was turning on by itself on and on. looks like no one checked on that details. I was traveling and had to get it fixed for work so I took it to a shop and swapped with my old Yoga and that fortune had the same bottom.

I am very satisfied with this purchase. As for shipping, it came in super quick; about 3 days before the estimated date. The laptop itself is very small, which I personally like because it's easier for me to type. As for performance, it runs quite fast and smoothly. For 12gb of RAM it was definitely a good deal. I have only used it once though, so hopefully it will continue to satisfy me in the future lol.

Solid laptop. I like it's design. I don't use my laptop intensely, but it runs well. Love the tablet ability, had to buy my own pen though.

I purchased this laptop and less than 3 years later the casing cracked. I spent almost $300 to get it repaired because I was told it was a great computer etc and should last a while longer...2 months later and the computer just does not turn on. Less than 3 years after purchasing it. I was about to purchase a new one after thinking I had this computer for about 5+ years. Well God was looking out for me because the deal expired as I was checking out, and I was not going to pay $900 for one. It allowed me to see when I purchased my other one and maybe it is time to search another brand...maybe a piece of fruit.

Wrong laptop

Bought an open box. They gave me the wrong laptop (ideapad )then told me I have to return it to the original store. Called CS x 3 before i reach someone that helped me get a return label to mail it back. The store told me that I have to return it to the original store because they cannot inventory it since they gave me the wrong laptop. They told me that they would charge my card for the item if they took it back (this info given by the manager at Mcdonough, GA location). I tried to call the store to see if they had the correct product but was only connected to a central customer service center so you cannot speak to a person at that store. I live about 1.5 hours from the Best Buy that I picked it up from which I didn't mind since I thought It was a really great deal. The CS rep on the phone told me I could take it to the store but this was incorrect information. Also, just to make the situation worse that laptop would not turn on!
