After giving it some thought I bought it again two weeks ago. I thought that first unit might just have had some abnormal glitch.At first it functioned just fine and then one morning after turning it on Nothing worked. I returned the unit on Aug. 25th. and the store gave me a full refund(not yet credited to my account). Lenovo's quality control is simply not up to the industries standards. I do not blame Best Buy, but am extremely disappointed in Lenovo and their products.

Posted .The Lenovo IdeaCentre 510A desktop uses the Windows 10 Home Operating System. Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programing errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686
Useless Optical Drive

The vertical optical drive will not play any CD archived image or document recordings from former CPU manufacturers such as HP and even a previous Lenovo desktop! Even an inexpensive DVD/Blu Ray player will play what this Lenovo does not! I had to obtain a cheap [under $20] optical drive from Amazon to be able to view these discs. I was very tempted to return this purchase to Best Buy. May as well have purchased a cheaper Dell desktop with no optical drive at all!

First, be sure the files you are trying to open are compatible with Windows 10 Home operating system. Second, be sure you have software installed on the computer that can read the files you are trying to open, if you need software other than Windows 10 to read the file. Please note, there is no Media Player Software pre-installed with Windows 10 Home Operating system. You will need to install a Media Player Software on the computer to play commercial audio and video files. Terrible Lenovo Computer!!

One year warranty of course. We were forced to purchase this during covid, as it was the only pc tower left in the Best Buy store. What does that tell you? I am out $600 and have to buy a new computer. Avoid this computer!

I think it may help others to know that I use this computer for my home business -- where I am designing book covers in Photoshop, creating book layouts in InDesign, editing audio for podcasts and videos for other multi-media projects -- some simultaneously. It is fast enough to handle video editing and graphic design without freezing or hanging -- and this was excellent for the price. My other PC had developed hardware problems and I needed a quick solution. Setup was SUPER-EASY! Seriously. But like all digital devices these days the operating systems literally demand an internet connection and an email address to set them up. But this, however, has nothing to do with the PC itself. Out of the box, I was able to set up within 40 minutes or so -- hooking up my cables, LCD screen and launching the PC. I spent just a few minutes uninstalling some apps I did not want on the machine -- like OneDrive, McAfee, etc. Because I use external hard drives for almost everything, I didn't mind having a 1TB hard drive and the memory is expandable to 16G. This works for me. Also, it was SIMPLE to sync my wireless printers, speakers, graphics tablet, etc. to this PC. It does come with a pretty basic keyboard... that I will surely replace because I like more features. Overall, however, I am pleased with my purchase so far. I'll revisit this review in 6-months. That will tell the true story. So far, so good. It's the perfect PC for those on a budget... and its VERY QUIET. So quiet, in fact, that I forget its running. My last PC was loud... and it drove me mad... especially when I got ready to do a live stream or host a video/audio call on my PC.

Looks like they wanted to get rid of bad new slow computers. Very slow and makes loud noise , would not recommend to anyone. I didn’t start using it right away. I trusted and believe them. When i started using it , they said it’s my problem 2 weeks have passed on your purchase.

Slow PC

Swear a 4 would be faster than that crap. Never open many windows. With just only one click the whole system lags. Just learn from my mistake. Never buy a refurbished one.

I paid to ship the computer back to Lenovo to repair and received it back in August 2019. After 5 months, my computer cashed again and won't turn on. I lost all the data and Lenovo told me that my computer is out of warranty and there's nothing they can do. This is my first Lenovo and it will be my last one too.

Died within a week and had to return. Perhaps just a 1 in a ?# lemons. However, Best Buy made the return and switch to a much better platform for close to same sales price. Ended up with a much better computer that is still working great for the last year.

Maybe 4 days later I hooked it up and used for a few days and it is already broken. Will not power on no matter what I do. I have never purchased this brand before this. Even though you can not power up the computer, ensure that your computer is connected to ac power during the recovery process. The Windows recovery environment on your computer operates independently from the Windows 10 operating system. It enables you to recover or repair the operating system even if the Windows 10 operating system fails to start. After two consecutive failed boot attempts, the Windows recovery environment starts automatically. Then, you can choose repair and recovery options by following the on-screen instructions.
