I wanted to punch the keyboard in it’s stupid face

Owned for 8 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a teacher and use a computer constantly, especially in the wake of COVID-19, but I purchased this one before the crisis exploded since my last one was on its last legs. This computer is stylish and fast, but there are two big issues I have with it. First, I’ve never dealt with a more obnoxious keyboard in all my life. I would type something, press every button, and it would only register some of the keystrokes. Granted, the majority of the letters would appear, but there was no rhyme or reason in what it would omit and how many times it would do so. When it was really bad, I would press a key 3-4 times firmly before it would actually appear on the screen. I wanted to murder it. Ultimately, I went out and bought a new wireless keyboard and now my blood pressure is back in a normal, less murder-y range. Second, it has minimal USB ports—three, I believe. By the time I had the nub for the keyboard and mouse plugged in, as well as the connector to the printer, there was only one port left. With a cell phone charger, a FitBit charger, the charger for my ear buds, and my flash drive, it became a constant game of rotation...until I bought a multi-port USB hub. Long story short: I had to supplement the computer with some additional equipment in order to make it work for me, but now all is good.

Posted .We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with data entry on your lenovo IdeaCentre 730s-23 All-In-One system, using the included wireless keyboard. First, be sure the batteries in the keyboard are fresh. Then, be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10 on the computer, then update all of the BIOS files and drivers up to that latest version of Windows 10. You can easily accomplish this by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software available on this computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. If this doesn't correct the lag issue, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

I bought it for my wife as she prefers a desktop in the office. This has a nice size screen and it's nice not having a CPU on the floor with wires going everywhere. The camera is not the best for Zoom calls. Picture is grainy.

The keyboard and the mouse are wireless. The feel of the keyboard is great and very responsive. The monitor is huge! It seems like Im watching a small HD tv. Not many All in ones have a i7 processor. The touch screen is nice also. I've only had it for 3 weeks, but I love everything except the ports in the back of the machine.

Regarding ports on the back of the system and frequent access, if you find you are using ports frequently and need more convenient access, you may want to consider using a portable USB hub with an extension cable. This will allow you to position the USB Hub for easier access. You can keep your computer running at its best by keeping the Windows 10 Operating System and all supporting BIOS files and drivers up to date. Within 15 seconds, I am ready to start working on this computer, long gone are the days when I waited 2 to 3 minutes, seems eternal, for my old computer to start and get ready. The instructions on setting up the keyboard and mouse could have been better as it took me some time to figure it out.

Just install the included batteries into the keyboard and mouse, remove the USB receiver that is stored in the battery compartment of the mouse, plug the USB receiver into the USB port on the computer, turn the mouse and keyboard on and then turn the computer on and you are ready to use the keyboard and mouse. But I’ll just say that the included migration software from Lenovo works great and I was able to get the files transferred over from my old pc with very little effort

It will generate heat whenever it is turned on, even at idle, this is normal. The onboard fan will maintain the proper operating temperature for the device. You will hear the fan whenever it runs, this too is normal.

I love the fact that the CPU "tower" is built right within the unit for space saving purposes, which allows for me to place it in the area available within my house and stretch out with additional camera equipment. The computer has great graphics and run fairly fast for me to edit imagery. The only downfall was the instruction manual didn't really explain to turn on the computer to begin and that you didn't have to program your keyboard and mouse.
