Please check the images for benchmark and temperatures. Battery life: 9-11hrs (60hz, 50% brightness, battery saver on, iCue uninstalled). No RGB rainbow effect on startup after you set a preset using Fn + Spacebar. Speakers are pretty good. Keyboard is typical Lenovo Legion, has enough travel, trackpad is alright, nothing special. It has windows precision drivers and supports all the gestures. In my opinion, it is the best laptop in it's class. Provides adequate portability and more than enough power (both CPU and GPU). I would highly recommend the laptop.

can't enjoy it because of keyboard lights

CONS: 1) Comes with truly bad keyboard backlight decisions. You cannot disable the keyboard's rainbow puke unless you use the third party iCue software that is known to drain the battery. iCue cannot run outside of Windows environment, meaning if you boot up from a flash drive (let's say, for installing something from BIOS), you will be forced to stare at an AGGRESIVELY ANIMATED RAINBOW until you boot back into Windows so iCue can execute and disable it (that is, if you are smart enough to know how to create a new lighting profile within iCue because by default it's rainbow puke). Even when you boot up into Windows, sometimes it takes time for iCue to execute and disable the rainbow. Do you know what would have worked better? A solid white backlight with different intensities that you can adjust with a keyboard button, as it's done by every other manufacturer. 2) The circular light around the power button is too bright and irritates the eyes in a slightly dark environment. It's always there, always in your peripheral vision, always distracting you from reading and watching. I would have covered it with tape but then the Windows Hello button wouldn't work. These lighting problems are truly annoying. I am considering to return this laptop unless the manufacturer plans to address it with a keyboard firmware update. I'm not confident, though, because Lenovo users have been complaining about this issue since at least 2017. This would not have been a problem had Lenovo properly researched who their customers are. People who choose this specific product are not necessarily children craving for RGB lights. If you are advertising this as a lightweight professional-looking laptop that doesn't come with obnoxious logos, then why ruin it with terrible lights? PROS: 1) Lightweight for its performance, otherwise not necessarily a "light" laptop because there are 3.8lb options nowadays. 2) Launches programs almost instantly. Much faster than a 7th gen Intel. 3) Great battery life. 4) The display is VERY nice. It is far superior to midrange laptop displays from a few years ago. I like the narrow edges.

We are sorry to hear that the keyboard lighting is an issue for you. Try turning the keyboard backlighting off: Hold down the Fn Key then at the same time, tap the spacebar. Once to turn on the backlighting, twice to increase the lighting intensity and three times to turn off the backlighting effect. Lenovo

Compare with my Legion Y730-15. It is way better than that. I can tell Lenovo is doing something good. Updated another 1TB SSD into the system. However, software needs to be improved. For 2 days using, I got some trouble with 'Loadlibary error with 126', 'no response on windows' I think I will need to restore the win10 something. This is my first laptop with AMD cpu. I guess I have done a little bit more work than intel one.

Disclaimer: I erase the drive of any device I buy from a store the moment the cellophane comes off the box. This ensures that I'm able to lay down a clean image of Windows 10 Pro with the latest drivers, software (as I choose), and eliminates any bloatware. The display panel in my particular device achieved color gamut ratings post-calibration of 99.1% sRGB, 70.2% AdobeRGB, and 72.8% DCI-P3. Don't understand what any of this means? Not to worry, even without the tools and calibration, the colors are vivid right from the factory. This isn't your run of the mill cheap washed out panel. The refresh rate is quite a treat if you have never experienced one before. I do not have the tools to test for PWM (backlight flicker which can bother eyes), however it has not bothered me in the few days of morning-to-night usage that I've owned this device. The keyboard is full stop unbeatable. This is about 85% of what Lenovo's "ThinkPad" range of devices offer, which are some of the best keyboards you can get in a laptop, let alone the enterprise environment. Some of the keys are shaped smaller, and the FN and Ctrl keys are flipped around vs the ThinkPad keyboard, but otherwise I have no complaints about it - quite the opposite, really. The trackpad has worked well for me. My primary device is a 16in MacBook Pro, and while this isn't quite as good as the Mac, it is exceptionally good for a windows laptop. Button presses toward the bottom half of the trackpad are excellent. They can be hit or miss toward the top of the trackpad. I wish it had a TrackPoint, but then it would be a ThinkPad and not a Legion. The speakers on this laptop are unremarkable. This shouldn't be a surprise given the price point. You get the middle of the mids, the highs, and... not much else. Use of quality headphones or speakers is a must for the best experience, once you turn off all of the audio enhancements. I haven't had much issues with Performance, however I bought this as someone who doesn't see Gaming as their primary hobby. I play games occasionally and the ones I have tried on this device so far have worked well. The RTX3060 is a good match with the Full HD panel on this laptop. I wouldn't want to run it on a 1440p, 4K, or 8K monitor. We will see what happens when Horizon 5 drops. Day to day tasks are remarkably snappy. Battery life has surprised me, it's on par with my Mac's battery life. Except with double the performance. Bravo, Lenovo! The major windfall for this laptop, and why it is so cheap, is the memory. For some reason, Lenovo decided to start the process of soldering the memory, but for some reason gave up halfway through and slapped a DIMM slot on the board. Lenovo, if you had started the job, you should've just finished it. You may as well treat this as you would buying a Mac, because if you swap out the socketed DIMM for a different size, you will already take a hit on an already rather lackluster performing memory setup. Buy the configuration you want, as you will be stuck with it. Lenovo, please consider a firmware option to enable XMP as well as giving us two memory slots for future iterations. Overall this device is nothing short of fantastic for how little they cost. It's as if they are practically giving it away. I am a big fan of Lenovo's ThinkPad line of devices, and this is about 85% of a ThinkPad, just with a "beefy" graphics card. Turning off the backlit keyboard (or using it with a solid color) allows you to easily fit into any office environment. The design is mature and sophisticated. It has fantastic premium build quality. You'd be hard pressed to find a better device at this price point. It has quickly warmed up to be one of my top two favorite laptops I've ever used. Go give one a spin at your nearest Best Buy, you might just be walking out with one yourself!

Seeing as how this is my first gaming laptop, I was stunned when I first saw the Laptop, with its sleek design and beautiful RGB keyboards. At first, I though the size and weight was going to be a problem, but it is really light for its massive screen size! I could carry this thing around the house and in my backpack without much problem. The keyboard is really good with nice tactile feel and good travel time. Another concern was the RGB lighting as I heard the ICUE program could drain battery life. But even after I deleted it, the default profiles on the computer were enough to satisfy my RGB needs. The 165hz screen panel is amazing and the color accuracy is awesome especially on a laptop like this. One of the problems though is the fact that this laptop can pick up so many fingerprints on the outside, so I recommend getting a microfiber cloth and some cleaning solution. The last great thing about this laptop is the performance. Any game I used on this device ran great. Even Battlefield V with RTX graphics on ran at 70-80 FPS. While performance was great, the heat was not and the areas around the fan were very warm. Fortunately, The area around the WASD keys weren't really affected so you don't have to worry about that. The maximum I got the CPU core was 94 C, which is really high! But if you want to lower the heat to save the longevity of the laptop, you can turn off Turbo Boost to get about 10-15 less degrees on average, there are some videos that can show how to do this. The fan noise is loud as well, but if you wear some headphones, you can really forget about it. This laptop is astonishing well made and powerful for its size. All the specs on this laptops are the best for its price except for its SSD size, so I recommend getting some type of M.2 SSD later on. Overall I have to say that this laptop is worth the price.

Pros: Runs most games at high or ultra settings, has a pretty good display, very sleek and light, minimal noise unless playing large games on ultra settings, very comfortable keyboard, amazing lenovo functions (ability to quickly switch between power modes which prioritize power and battery life) Cons: can get a little hot (mitigated if using a laptop stand/cooler), has a sub-par memory (can be upgraded very easily with a SSD-nvme), the frames material easily accumulates finger marks Personal notes: when upgrading the storage, open the bottom from the back first. There aren't any good videos online telling you this so I had to struggle to figure this out on my own. The battery has a habit of over-charging so if it constantly says that you're at 98%, it is really at full charge. If you let the battery level drop a bit, it will go back to displaying 100% when charged fully again

Thank you for choosing the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 15 Gaming Laptop, model number 82K80001US. This model ships with Lenovo Legion Coldfront 3.0 system cooling technology. Building on a legacy of max clock speeds with zero throttling over marathon sessions, Legion Coldfront blows the performance doors even wider in its third incarnation. It features an intelligent intake system, turbo-charged dual fan design, a quad channel exhaust system with improved thermal fins, 10,500 machine-drilled intake vents, keyboard vents, heat sinks, and a new intelligent mode. Legion Coldfront 3.0 on the Legion Slim 7 Gen 6 (15 inch AMD) AI-optimizes the most demanding eSports titles without ever breaking a sweat. You can even control the fan speed and voltage with Q Control 4.0 ( Fn + Q option to change the fan and system performance by undervolting the processor) for that full-throttle flow or to extend battery life. If you have questions about optimizing the power settings of your Legion Slim 7 15, we recommend you contact a Legion Gaming Expert at Legion Ultimate Support: 888-278-9707. Concerning leaving your computer plugged in after charging to 100 Percent battery level, this computer protects the internal battery life by not over-charging the battery. If you run your cursor over the battery indicator on your desktop screen, you will see the message Plugged In, Not Charging. This allows the battery to discharge to 95 Percent, then the battery will begin to trickle charge back to 100 Percent. Under heavy workloads, the battery may continue to drain with trickle charge. Once the battery level hits 90 Percent, the battery will now charge at full charging levels, back to 100 Percent charge. If you are going to leave your computer plugged in all of the time, you may want to switch to Battery Conservation Mode. This will only charge the battery to 60 percent when plugged in to prolong overall battery life. Lenovo

I was looking for a laptop to use for office work and the occasional audio and video editing along with some game play (mostly simulators) and decided on the Slim 7 as a middle of the road machine. So far I have been very happy with my choice. I haven't had the time yet to really put it through its paces but so far it hasn't disappointed. The keyboard is comfortable and the rgb is ok although I leave them off or set to blue most of the time. I have read several reviews about people complaining about the sound but the sound is acceptable to me, and it works great with a Bluetooth speaker or headphones. The screen is crisp and the usb c video out works great with another screen. So far it seems the battery will last around 4-5 hrs if your just browsing the web and watching YouTube videos. But with the 230 watt power supply it charges up in less than an hour. Speaking of the power supplies, it is a little large, so what ever you get to carry your laptop in make sure it has plenty of room for the power supply and your accessories. The body is sturdy and the fan intake is on the bottom which you will need to keep in mind when using it on your lap. If I had to complain about anything, and to me it's not that big of a deal, it would be that one of the memory cards is soldered in. So if you want to up grade from 16GB you will only be able to go up to 24GB and not 32GB. Let me say that there are better and more critical reviews that you can find out on the web and I urge you to look them up, but one thing that you may need to consider also, is how fast do you want your laptop. Mine was at my doorstep in 7 days, not bad by todays standards.

First time picking up a laptop of Lenovo and with a Ryzen 7 8 core and a 3060 definitely well worth its value though needs a larger m2 drive (which it comes with 2 slots 1 occupied of the 512 gb) which i plan to upgrade with a 1tb or 2 tb m2… only time will tell but I’m looking forward to using this laptop for college and some gaming here and there i wished there was a hdmi though to connect this to a tv and/or monitor. Does have usb c to display on a tv or monitor which requires a dongle which is the only downside

So I went to best buy to buy either the Asus rog Zephyrus or the MSI G66. I wanted a laptop that is well built not hard plastic or low-quality aluminum with a 144hz + panel and an RTX 3060. I saw the the 3050ti version I was stuned by the quality I didn't like the number pad at the begging but I like it now. Pros: Corssire RGB, 165hz IPS very nice panel, RTX 3060 6GB, easy upgrade and Great and fast CPU. Cons: fingerprint magnet So I would recommend buying a 15" microfiber cloth to place it above the keyboard when you're done using the laptop and to clean the fingerprint! I noticed the keybinds marks can be left on the screen (slightly) so The microfiber is really useful. NOTE: The upgrade is easy the swappable ram is 1x16 8GB so it is slower than the ram with 1x8 8GB. I changed the ram with 1x8 8GB and I added another m.2 512gb. For the ram check Linus: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R7CO9v9rpOk&t=0s&ab_channel=LinusTechTips or The Dirty Way Manufacturers are Downgrading Your PC The battery life is about 7/8 hrs without gaming and when you game plug it I don't know why but it is smoother my personal use for this laptop is light (Programming and school work) I have a gaming pc but I needed a laptop for school and I am not getting a Macbook for $1500 without a good CPU and GPU that was my logic when I invested in this laptop.

Really impressive unit. Build quality was important to me due to bad experiences with previous laptops I have owned. Moved away from some other models due to QC issues. This laptop has really good build quality. Almost no flex when lifting from corners or edges. It has above average performance for it's price range. The GPU is higher wattage than other 3060 laptops which gives it a little extra boost. It handles every game I've tried, but it is also my work computer, and it handles every CAD, modeling, and simulation software I've thrown at it. I would have preferred to not have soldered ram, but that seemed to be the case for similarly spec'd and priced units. Lack of HDMI is a bit annoying but ultimately it's nice having two of the more versatile USB-C ports. As many have mentioned it holds finger prints but I don't really care. Especially in the current laptop market clouded by shortages and increased prices it will be hard to beat the value of this laptop.

Great all around laptop. Quiet, light, looks good. More power than I need, which is good for longevity. Battery is surprisingly good, better when you adjust a few settings such as screen refresh rate and brightness. Sound is alright, nothing to write home about. Occasionally a key will double-tap when typing. As for gaming performance, takes any game I throw at it. Not the best at ultra settings, but does High settings well. Tweak as your situation demands. Elevate the laptop to provide for plenty of airflow and it doesn't even get too loud.

So I did extensive research. I wanted something that can be send to my 4k monitor. I wanted something that would upgrade to windows 11. I wanted something that was a good price. This is the new model. so do not get confused with last years model. It is about 10x faster than my 6 year old i7. I did test other brands for heat, and two other brands ran quite hot. This one runs nice with it being slightly warm doing normal web browsing. the warm is not even that warm as in I could rest it on my lap all day and not worry about burns. Have not tested in extreme gaming yet. The fan also seems quiet. If I am not mistaken this model has an improved hinge system, do your own research on that. It appears to be 4k on my 4k monitor as far as I can tell as it is crystal clear on the external monitor. I did need to buy a usb c to hdmi cable, as there is no hdmi port. I go the item on sale and open box and it seems perfect condition wise, so for the price, it was the most bang for the buck. I am in awe with how much faster this is than my old fast machine. It seems literally 10 times faster.

A amazing slim gaming laptop at this price. Legion slim 7 doesn't get much hype from reviewers, so I am happy to find this product after extended researching. I don't usually pay attention to new laptops, and I expect the slim 7 to last me at least 5 years before I purchase my next. First and foremost, I actually had to return my first slim 7. For some reason, the screen was flickering between bunch of colors. It was an hardware issue. Luckily it was in the literal first week of purchase, best buy took care of the exchange hassle free. For my second, I've enjoy it so far. The gaming performance is excellent. I would definitely recommend getting a external keyboard, since the laptop gets really hot to touch when playing. It runs very smoothly, as the spec should suggest. I haven't had problems running anything yet. One feature I didn't know prior to purchasing is the ability to quick toggle between the 165hz refresh rate and 60hz refresh rate. This feature contributed alot to the enduring battery life. At low battery, ~5%, the laptop is prone to shut down. The outer feel of the laptop feels rather cheap. It is very prone to fingerprint. I brought a vinyl skin so that the front of my laptop don't look like grease. Additionally, it gets chipped very easily. I am a student, so I carry it to class everyday. Within the first week, plastic have broken off from the air vent. I brought a laptop sleeve to protect it since. However, a laptop made to be carried, should be much more durable than this.

Overall it's a great gaming laptop. Its slim, so portability is no problem. While cooling may be an issue if you use it on a surface directly, it doesn't throttle until you are really using it for high-intensity games. Additionally, you can buy a $10 stand to lift it up a little and it drastically reduces the temperature. The GPU and CPU are wonderful, and I love the non-reflective screen. Overall a great purchase.

Wow! Cant believe i slept on Lenovo. I was in need of a new pc, and ive been impressed with the advances in laptops. I got it mainly for gaming, and i like the portability of a laptop. I dont play a lot of high end games, but the ones i do play this laptop definitely delivers. The most intensive game ive thrown at it so far is Apex and it gets over 100 fps maxed out. This laptop has surprisingly good thermals for how thin it is, but I still use a cooling pad for longer sessions. So far so good id definitely recommend this laptop for a casual gamer. It definitely holds its own on new games.. 165mhz screen is a dream too.

I decided to get this because of its slim profile and lightweight. I mostly use this for work but I also game casually. For my need, this is more than enough. I also travel so this is perfect. Cons: super fingerprint magnet. no HDMI port I have to use USB-c to HDMI converter.

I would recommend this to a friend
