    Goldilocks computer!

This is the laptop that can replace your tablet. The Microsoft surface likes to brag it's "The tablet that can replace your laptop" but with its flimsy keyboard with difficult to find (by feel) keys combined with its high cost it quickly fell off my radar. I'm a very tall man with long arthritic sausage fingers. I have problems using haptic keyboards and most chiclit style laptops especially when you scale down to anything smaller than a 15.6" laptop. Even with those I end up using an external keyboard. While it's true the keyboard on the Lenovo Yoga 2 11 does have some flex it does allow me to type with minimum errors and at a speed nearly equal to my external keyboard. So a solid C+ earned here. The cpu isn't ultra fast and the ram isn't going to set any records but it is speedy, runs cool and has done everything I have asked it to do. There were two issues with this computer when I received it. They are issues others have addressed and reviewers mentioned when giving this a lowered score. Issue 1: Dim hard to see screen. I uninstalled the Lenovo provided power management app and instead just use the one provided in windows. The screen quite literally doubled in brightness, clarity and color intensity. Battery life remains about the same with nearly 5.5 hours on average. Issue 2: Laggy slow and unresponsive touch pad that won't scroll. A simple driver upgrade and it now performs as well as the touch pad on the MacBook pros I have used. With the only down side being it's relatively small size but it's a small laptop so you'll have that. That's it really. Touch screen is awesome, the size is perfect and for $400 nothing can touch this! That's why I say this is the Goldilocks laptop.

Geek Squad Certified it certainly wasn't.

I bit on the price of $399 on Black Friday for this laptop that was Geek Squad Certified and rated Excellent. What I received was a package containing no power cable, all of the previous owners info was still loaded (meaning Geek Squad never even looked at it), & it was completely covered in grease and smudges...like someone was eating french fries every time they used it. Basically someone threw it back in the box without looking at it and taped it back up with Geek Squad tape. First few calls to customer service were of very little help other than to give me the run-a-round of going back and forth to the store only to have the store tell me they couldn't do anything about it since it was bought online and not from a store. What was finally determined (also spent an hour on hold during Cyber Week that I wasn't happy about) was that I had to return the laptop and I would be given a $50 gift card for my inconvenience. So now I'm out a laptop, and waiting for the Rewards Points that I used on the purchase to return so I can use them again, and I missed out on Black Friday pricing...as well as am out the hours of time and gas I also wasted on dealing with this issue. Two years ago, I purchased a Sony Vaio refub that I've had zero problems with (the reason I thought it would be ok to do again), but this was an absolutely terrible experience with having to deal with this one & would now discourage anyone who asked from buying.
