Hard to review -- already at the warranty center

We bought this for my daughter to use at med school and the top left quadrant of the screen went dead in less than a month. No drops or other trama -- shut it down one night and screen was out the next day. Best Buy personnel in Columbus near OSU were not helpful and accused her of causing the damage -- not a real smart business practice. It's in route to the warranty center in Texas. Hope Lenovo stands behind their product!

Good choice for performance + portability

Many of my coworkers require Windows laptops that are portable enough to take into the field but powerful enough to run a specific resource-intensive program (ArcReader). With a slim 2-in-1 design, a solid-state drive, 8GB of RAM, and a modern processor, this machine is a perfect fit for us and I would endorse it for anyone needing a similar balance of form & function. That said, a 128GB hard drive certainly isn't for everyone, especially folks with lots of music & video files and the battery life is mediocre, as noted in other reviews. Thankfully my coworkers do not require too many large files and can charge the laptops in their trucks if needed. Additionally there is some bloatware that needs to be removed before deploying but not nearly as much as with previous Yoga models. Overall, this isn't a laptop for everyone, but it is nearly perfect for many in industries such as engineering, surveying, utilities, etc.

Really pleased with this purchase. Pros: -The keyboard feels good, well lit -Display is fantastic and can be viewed by two or more snuggling together -Hinge feels stable -Very fast performance for all general tasks (we haven't edited large video files) Cons: -Power port is too similar in size and shape of USB port and user must find right side up in dark. Round, lit power port would have been better. -Not enough audio amplification for basic coffee/kitchen atmosphere, we resort to external usb speakers too often. -Didn't realize it doesn't come with Ethernet (LAN) port. requires a HDMI to rj45 adapter if a wired connection is needed (example:setting up your wifi router) -SD card port is shallow so a fully inserted card can't remain in while storing the laptop - This is my method of automated external backup storage. The workaround is to use micro SD and especially shallow card adapter which accepts micro SD card in from its side, before insertion into the laptop. -Right-hand SHIFT and BACKSPACE keys are too narrow. you decide.

Lightweight, fully functional and FAST! Very quiet with excellent battery life. Even works fast in Power save mode! Responsive touch screen and LOVE the flexibility it gives where you can fold the keyboard underneath and use it as a stand when using an external keyboard. Saves a TON of room on the desk. I was a HP guy for 20 years...NO MORE! Such a better experience with Lenovo!

I hadn't tried any touch screen computers, but needed a computer. The price was great and it had all the parts I was looking for. I was a little worried about wearing out the hinges on the display. It's been a couple of months and I haven't had any problems yet. It's pretty fast and relatively easy to use. I am very happy with this computer so far!

My son needed a new laptop for college. The one he has had for some time now is still quite powerful but its really too heavy and bulky to carry around and use with any frequency. He needed a good sized laptop that was lighweight but not underpowered. His expected uses are both note taking in class as well as running some apps that simply would overpower most smaller alternatives. Initially he was unsure about a computer that could also function as a tablet but once he got his hands on it (in the store) he quickly changed his mind. He found it was very comfortable and was not too heavy or too hot. The Yoga 3 easily fits into his backpack and lasts a long time before needing to be plugged in. The only negative we have is the cost. Its significantly higher than other midsize laptops. Fortunately we shopped for the computer far enough in advance that I could then wait for a sale. If you want something that should last you or whomever you get it for for a few years then this is certainly a laptop to consider. If you are patient and can wait for the next time it goes on sale, it becomes almost a no brainer when compared to other laptops in its category.

I'm new to both windows 8.1 and touch-screen so am still getting used to this and have had it for less than 2 months. It is a very nice change from old laptop. Pros: Logs on much quicker than old laptop. Light weight & does not get as hot as old one. At night the lighted keyboard is handy & the volume buttons on the side are quick and easy way to end the noisy popup screens. The battery indicator on the screen is useful. Problems: Wish the battery lasted a lot longer. The security package that BB installed has been a hassle so have called geek squad several times.

I love 99% of everything about this laptop. It is so functional, easy to use, and has so many handy features. The only thing that I dislike about it is that you can hear the fan whine at a very high frequency often. Because I love this computer so much and after talking to several people was reassured that nothing was wrong with the computer, I have decided to just get used to it. Overall, still love it though!

    A major transition - Windows 7 to 8 to 10

This is a nice powerful machine that behaves much as one would expect a Microsoft windows machine to do. I like the touch screen adding flexibility. Windows 8 is a strange beast and will take some getting used to, which may be academic since Windows 10 will be along in a couple of weeks from this review.

This was my first laptop. I'm in college so I wanted something lightweight and portable. It also works as a tablet. I'm just getting used to everything. It is very sensitive to hand movements. I use it as a basic computer, but do find myself using the touch screen instead of the mouse.

Bought this to replace replace 8 year old laptop. I use it mostly for internet surfing, working with/creating documents and spreadsheets, watching Netflix; no game playing. It is so lightweight and portable. Like the versatility of it being touch or keypad operated. Screen resolution clear and bright. Don't really use it in tablet mode; it's a little too big for that. Battery life great. My biggest obstacle was learning Windows 8!

This Lenovo laptop worked really well...very fast and could handle multiple applications at the same time. Unfortunately, I seem to have gotten a lemon. After four days, it started buzzing; probably something wrong with the fans. I exchanged it for a less expensive Asus.

The Lenovo - Yoga 3 2-in-1 14" Touch-Screen Laptop is awesome! The 14 " is the perfect size to take with me wherever I go. The touch screen makes it easy to move from one screen to the next and when I need to type I can use the keyboard or the touch screen keyboard. I really like all the different settings so I can set it up just the way I want. I'm not too crazy about Windows 8 but Windows 10 will be out soon and hopefully it will make this laptop even better to use. I would recommend the 512GB instead of the 128GB, unless you intend on getting an external drive for storage. Great laptop - love the features!

I bought this as a graduation gift for my son. It is the perfect size for college, small enough to carry around campus, and big enough screen to work efficiently. the solid state drive is super fast, perfect for keeping up with the fast pace of school. Not a gaming laptop, not enough hard drive. the solid state drive combined with the i5 processor make it the best bang for the buck if you need something to boot up fast and handle windows and a browser

The design is good, 2-in-1 The price during the Memorial day sale was amazing, but all 3 had some issues. I don't know it was my bad luck or not. I really liked the product and I wanted to keep it, but I had to finally return it. There are several things that I want to point out regarding its design and material, but for the price I cannot complain. Let me point out why I had to return this product. 1. high pitch noise during charging ( 2 laptops) 2. The fan was making clicking noise when the laptop being used as a tablet. ( 1 laptop) If you have more money, then I would go to Yoga 3 pro

My wife LOVES her new Lenovo

My wife has been using her old Lenovo for the last seven years and she was really happy with it. As it would happen, while doing an internet intense online work related study course in chemotherapy the old Lenovo did it's best to keep up but it was still painfully slow. I promised my wife that although we were both due to update our laptops, I'd get her a new machine before I replaced mine. I asked her if she wanted to stay with Lenovo or try a different brand and she was perfectly clear, the Lenovo gave her seven years of solid dependability and she wanted to stay with the brand. I surprised her with the 14" Lenovo Yoga 3, a 2 in 1 touch screen laptop and she LOVES it! Right out of the box it was obvious that this machine was going to give her many years of service. I added a 4 port USB 3.0 hub and a WD 1T external hard drive and the hardware was a complete package. I installed MS Office and I can say with confidence, she is set! This laptop is everything she wanted, a real power house.

I've been a HP and Dell fan for a long time. I was purchasing a laptop for my wife to help with her work, school, leisure entertainment. She was carrying around a heavy and old HP which honestly worked great and lasted 6-7 yrs!!! But it was time for a new laptop. Among all the laptops available in store, it seems Lenovo produced the best options. This particular laptop is very light!!! Beautiful display and includes WiFi AC as well as a SD slot for expandable memory. Unfortunately opening this ultrabook and others are not feasible and causes limitation in upgrading components later in life. That is the only downside with it. Overall, its fast, very light, feels durable, and will have Windows 10 ready on release day.

I wanted more speed, quicker response to commands, etc. I have achieved that with my Lenovo Yoga 3. I am still learning where everything is and how to operate some areas. But overall this is a good performing laptop computer. I also like flipping the top screen back and the computer becoming like a pad with the keyboard then showing on the screen.

I really like the Lenovo Yoga 3- the touch screen and portability make this a great computer to use as a laptop or tablet. Lightweight and easy to use. I also like the light behind the keyboard that illuminates the keys. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I've had some trouble typing things quickly into Excel spreadsheets. Sometimes the computer wouldn't register my space bar key strokes and I would have to go back and fix what I had written- lengthening the amount of time it took me to finish my work. I haven't experienced this problem with any of the other computer programs.
