Very impressed with the speed and how easy it is to transport. The tablet is not very easy to type on despite the number of keyboard placement options. I have been doing a lot of word processing and the right shift is smaller than normal, so I tend to press the up arrow enough for it to be bothersome. I was also a macbook pro user before this. The computer came with windows 8.5 installed and i recently upgraded to windows 10. My microphone and video had stopped working. The lenovo support team was available to talk in a chatroom, but turns out my drivers had to be reinstalled and the support person ended the session in the middle of a driver installation and did not contact me again to follow up. The battery life is pretty pathetic, I still bring my charger everywhere with me. The bottom of the computer also gets pretty hot if on my lap for along period of time. In spite of these glitches, I think the computer and hardware will last a long time. My experience at Best Buy was not the best, so I will probably not purchase anything else from them.

Aight yo to prove this an honest review, ima use some slang a** language Jk, but seriously I was just a college student looking for a computer that I could use either in class or to work on homework, and maybe use for a little gaming or adobe programs later. I came across the Yoga 3 14" while look at the Yoga 3 11", and went with this one because it was only 50 bucks more and had a better processor and bigger screen (maybe a few more things, look it up). Only problems I've had so far are the kinda low battery life imo (but as long as you can charge it sometime throughout the day, you'll be more than fine) and there was a touch screen issue for the first couple weeks. It was a ghost touch that would be concentrated on one part of the screen, but I googled the problem and found a link posted on a forum from a Lenovo worker that got me to a software download that (so far) has worked completely. Would totally love a tricked out laptop, but had to be realistic and this is a great bang for the buck (especially w/ a coupon).

I got lucky.. got the student discount and deal off the day for a total of $600. This computer starts up, shuts down super fast with the SSD. I upgraded to windows 10 with no problems, but I do reccomend installing Firefox over chrome or using Microsoft edge. Internet browsing is almost instant when you do. Battery life is better than what I have been reading--I get about 7 hours while in class sometimes for 6 hours, so this is perfect if you take notes on your laptop during class. Case feels very durable, and the look, feel, and weight of the laptop is just perfect-very slim. The i5, 8Gb ram, and 256 SSD make this laptop faster than what I even need it for. I haven't tried games on this, but with Intel graphics I'll assume it would be weak, but that's not what you're buying this for. Everyday browsing, home use, or for school this laptop is perfect. The touch screen and versatility to switch into a tablet is really neat and useful for newer windows operating systems. The keyboard is lowered so the laptop can be converted to a tablet, but I have grown to love the feel of it, and the back lit keyboard is awesome for when you are using it in the dark. There has been talk that the screen is relatively dark or dim, I will confirm this, but it's more than bright enough for indoor situations. No one will be using this at an outside picnic am I right? With that said, resolution for the screen is very good, streaming movies or videos look great. Overall I am extremely happy I bought this product, and once people get used to the 3-in 1 setup and keyboard, you will be satisfied also. Probably the best mid range laptop out there if you ask me. Cheers!

Love love love this laptop/tablet. Fast and sleek. I downloaded the free utility Classic shell that makes Win8 act just like Win7...which I prefer. And I have a nice little shortcut on my desktop to go to the Win8 START screen whenever I need to go into TABLET mode.

This 2-in-1 laptop is a great product. The 14" screen is the perfect size; not too big or too small. It is extremely lightweight making it easy to carry around campus. The solid state drive is a nice change from the usual hard drive. It only takes a few seconds to boot up. While the memory may not be significant relative to a hard drive's potential, it makes up for it in speed. You can simply keep your extra files on an external hard drive or flash drive. The battery life is great; it lasts me hours on a single charge. The only flaw I see is the keyboard. The keys could be a little more solid. Other than that, I would highly recommend this laptop to anyone.

I spent a ridiculous amount of time researching different laptops and ultrabooks before making this purchase. I finally narrowed my window to Lenovo. After playing with all of Lenovo's comparable products; my decision was quite easy. This is the perfect portable, but perfectly sized machine. I would recommend it to anyone. -One note: the keyboard seems to be shifted slightly to the left; making it a little difficult to get used to without touching the track pad.

To be honest, when I first purchased this laptop, I wasn't sure really why I was being a 2-in-1 when I've never really had the need for a tablet where a laptop couldn't do the job even faster. I was probably more intrigued by the touchscreen laptop capabilities (nothing new nowadays). Some first thoughts (both positive and negative) I had on this laptop were: 1) relatively small amount of memory compared to my other laptops (which were all much heavier and bigger) 2) 14" seems like the perfect size, especially for a 2-in-1, where a 13" was too small for me for a laptop and 15" would be a pain to carry around as a walk-around 2-in-1. 3) It's a laptop, that can also be a tablet and allows a stand option 4) Performance is ridiculously good for a machine this size 5) 2 USB 3.0 ports + 1 3.0 port (charger) I ended up getting it a week after first checking it out in the store and comparing it to the slightly newer 13.3" yoga 3 pro and the big winner was the battery life of the Yoga 14 (i think 14 hours compared to ~5 hours?). I was planning on using this for both school and work and the chances of me being able to have a chance to charge every 5 hours was nil, especially being a "power user". Something to note was I was able to upgrade immediately to Windows 10 after setting up Windows 8.1 which came pre-installed. The Windows 10 experience on this machine is amazing. The transitioning and options available for switching from Laptop to Tablet (or Stand) mode were extremely seamless. I bought a stylus for this the next day and had no problems with incorporating that with the Yoga 14 and Windows 10. I'm going to start getting too detailed if I go any further with this review so I'll summarize it here: Performance on the machine is lightening fast and will take care of most to all of your daily laptop/tablet needs. I've even done some moderate photo and video editing on this laptop with no latency or crashes occuring, something I would never expect from a machine this size. Versatility of use as a laptop and tablet is awesome. Warranted, you probably won't use the tablet mode that often (they actually have statistics that compare the amount of time you have the machine in each mode) but when that time comes you really wish you had a tablet to be more "carry-able" (I'm an assistant at work so this actually happens pretty often), you'll be VERY glad you have the option too. Works AMAZING with windows 10 whether you are a fan of touch or not. Some of the more performance-taxing things I've done with this laptop include (for those wondering about performance with certain applications): -Heavy web development (used Adobe DW and MS VS) -Some photo and video editing using Adobe products (PS, AE) -Music composition using MIDI (Ableton, FL Studio, Mixcraft) I had no problems using any of these programs whatsoever, the 8G of RAM definitely does it's job well! This product definitely gets a 10/10 or 5/5 whatever, for all the above. Not a power horse if you're looking into getting into heavy intensive video editing or anything overly power consuming, but can definitely handle more than I thought it would be able too. The only con I have on this machine is the 256MB SSD, a 512MB option would have been great to see, but I just ended up buying a 512MB class10 UHS SD card with a 95mb/s transfer rate which run's like a dream and gives me enough total hard drive space to do what I need to do. Hope this review helped!

This little beast has everything you could possibly want with respect to portability, practicality, and performance. In my personal opinion, this is one of the most balanced 2 in ones out there, (again, with respect to school/work related tasks). I gave it 4 out of 5 fives stars due to the issues with the tablet services, many of which have been resolved.

Originally bought the Yoga 3 120 Gig machine, but was having some software issues and brought it back. I then asked if they had a better model and they had 1 computer which was the same internals , except it has a 256 gig ssd. The kicker is that it was literally only like $50 more than the 120 gig machine. Im so happy, because I was worrying that space would be an issue. 2 Thumbs up!

Light weight. Slick look. Perfect for a college student. One thing to point out though that there is problem with the touch screen by default. It will require updating a touch screen panel firmware. Lenovo solution: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/ht103512

The weight and size of this laptop is just what I was looking for. It's light-weight and thin. Perfect for slipping into my work-bag or cradled in my lap while lounging on the couch. I don't feel like I have a car crushing my legs. Plus with the SSD, it doesn't get hot and the start-up is lightning fast. The battery-life is pretty decent as well. So happy I did my research and was able to find this little gem that met all my requirements. I found it at a very affordable price too. Love it, love it, love it! Now no more excuses...I'm writing my novel!

Wanted a computer that had current tech and capabilities but wanted to keep the price down. Not the top of the line model but plenty of good features like the solid state drive, 360 hinges, gen 5 processor, and touch screen. I have been looking for 6 months for the right combination at the right price.

I love this computer. I've had it for a little over a month now, and it does all that it says it does. The battery life is pretty fair, it is what the seller advertises. It's sleek and slim, and it has a lot of great features that really help make this laptop great. However, one thing that bothers me about this laptop is the fact that it doesn't seem to remember my settings. So if I'd rather use hot keys and not the "f1" key set, the computer doesn't remember that and almost every time I log in, I have to reset it. It doesn't have a lot of storage space, but that is a given as well considering it is what the seller advertised. Overall, I love this computer, but I do wish it would remember my settings. There might even be a way to fix that, I don't know yet.

    pros and contras

contras: 1. the on/off button is too small and hard to push, plus too close to the other buttons 2. the volume buttons are also too small and awkwardly located, plus they are reversed 3. there are only 2 usb slots, rather than three, and they are too close together to other connections 4. especially to the micro-hdmi, which in addition requires an adaptor, which takes up space 5. the scrolling on the screen is hard to control, and feels like butter, even with a mouse; it goes all over the place when trying to enlarge/reduce a page, or scroll to a certain point 6. the main window space is greatly reduced with the menu on the bottom, rather than having it on the side, and makes wordprocessing harder by reducing the space seen for the page 7. with windows 10, the space for the icons on the bottom of the screen is even more reduced with the new additions 8. the usb ports are rough and easily damaged with usb sticks 9. the battery does not last long 10. the top space for browsing also greatly reduces the space for the pages with so many menus; so much junk 11. the space for the finger pad is too big, taking too much space from keyboard keys, and for the fingers to type comfortably; the pad space is awkward 12. the charger cord is too short 13. 250hd is not much at all; will need at least 500hd for it to really be worth the price 14. when connected to a monitor, part of the screen goes off it, even in any of the formats! --- pros: 1. the screen has a nice resolution, moreso than the seemingly equivalent one for Asus, for photos and videos, 2. and for video chatting 3. with the ssd drive, the computer turns on super fast 4. the weight is pretty decent, thought would like less weight to carry 5. in general it is a nice, decent computer for the specs, but too expensive for the money paid 6. just after found that other reputable computers cost about the same or less and have an i7 processor and more hd storage, including hybrids with 1TB! Would only recommend it as a much lesser price! or with more ssd hd space, even a hybrid! You have the photo of the product mentioned, as seen above. It's the same.

After much research and the prospect of my old laptop giving out, I knew I wanted to have a computer with much versatility and a long-life. I also knew I wanted a solid state drive and with its 256 GB, it would be more than capable of meeting my needs. In addition, I knew I wanted a 5th generation processor and with the i5, it too meets my needs. I am no techno wonder and I am able to use this laptop/tablet with little difficulty. I am learning something new daily as this is a major upgrade from my previous laptop purchased nine years ago. To date, I have no complaints.
