My Lenovo with a Root Kick

I thought I was having trouble because I switched from a MacBook BUT even though I went to Best Buy (Davenport, FL) for help sitting it up 9/29-it was no help from a rude agent. I finally ended up sending it to a computer business (20 yrs in business) to find my problem which was a root kick. Geek squad certified meant nothing I guess.

Only had it a week so still learning Windows 10 but as of this point, I'm liking this. There was a small glitch when I first started it up but Lenovo support was able to rectify the problem quickly. Quick responsiveness with one program open or with multiple programs open. I love the versatility of going from laptop to tablet mode. Love the Touchscreen. Light weight makes it convenient to use and take anywhere.

This my second Lenova purchase. I purchased this for a second computer for work. Trying to get used to windows 10, but so far seems pretty good. The feel is a little heavier than my yoga pro 2, but the case seems durable. I like the extra USB port incorporated into the charge port. The keyboard is easy to use for the size as it is not too small to type and the backlit keyboard is nice in darker environments. Overall I would purchase another one. My main complaint about this computer; however, is the charge life. Battery seems to only last about 4 hours after a full charge. This makes it difficult to go the day but I can usually find a place to plug in. I am very happy with this purchase so far.

I want to start by saying I read ALOT of reviews before I purchased this Lenovo 700 2 in 1 . I have a 17 and 15 " laptop so it wasn't a necessity but I thought the ability to fold the screen over would be handy for a couple of apps I use for my home business . That's the reason I went with the 700 instead of the 900. If I didn't have access to many other options I would definitely invest in the 900. That being said....The processor has had no lag at all. I have the 256 solid state drive and the i5 processor. I've always had the i7 so I wasn't sure if I would notice a difference , but its been working out just fine. The startup is very quick- maybe 3 seconds...if that.bThe touch screen is responsive, but to be honest I have not used it a ton. I am definitely a mouse person...so I don't have much to say about the touch pad either. I just don't use them...on anything. I bought my first Bluetooth mouse to use with this and I am loving that too ! I had read some negative things about the keyboard but I like it. I have always bought one particular top selling PC. Ive always been very happy with them and still am...I just wanted to try something different and I really took to this keyboard. The smaller "enter " hasn't cause me any issues at all..but I am not a "trained " typist, so I don't know if that makes a difference. The other thing I read that people complained about was that the backlight on the keyboard only had 1 setting. It does and once again...no issue for me. I love the backlight and its no big deal to me not to have multiple settings. I find that people complain about the smallest , silliest things. Yes...they are paying good, hard earned money, but I am more concerned about the real meat and bones of a system...not the frilly stuff...and this one has held up its end of the bargain. Battery life has been great too. Ive gotten an average of about 8 hours on a charge...I think that's a decent charge and it recharges quickly. One thing that was new to me was that the charging port is one of the USBs...so when you are charging , you lose one of the ports. Bottom line of my experience is...I read reviews and watched the returns at Best Buy for about 3 months. I went back and forth because of what I read and I wish I had went with my gut and jumped in or listened to the reviewers who sounded like they knew what they were talking about vs the ones who only mentioned what went wrong. Every product has their issues. I ended up finding a certified open box for a great price and that's what pushed me over the edge. I hope something Ive said here helps someone who is wondering what they should do. I don't regret my decision...I actually use this more than my XX right now ...I'm liking it so much and my XX is their top of the line model.

This is an easy to use 2in1 laptop/tablet. Very useful with the complete folding feature. Has good battery life. Recharges very quickly. Find it lightweight, easy to use keyboard. First time user of Windows 10 but easy to navigate and learn. Enjoy the versatility of having keyboard or touchscreen functionality. The i5 processor makes it the fastest computer I've ever had and the Solid State drive is the quietest.

If you aren't accustomed to doing your work or much of anything on a touch screen it will take you awhile to get the hang of things, but the screen resolution and more importantly the quality of the touch screen is great compared to the asus, acer, hp and dell counterparts. I wish they made a pen that comes with it like Windows though. Windows 10 is a HUGE upgrade from 8 and 8.1 you will enjoy it if you are coming from that time.

Today is January 22, 2016. I first purchased this laptop December 28th, 2015, as my faithful; 7 year old Compaq decided it was time to leave this world. I AM ON MY THIRD ONE. Yes, of the SAME exact laptop. The third one is also going back. That is how badly I wanted to love this product. The touch screen is sensitive, the clarity is incredible, its 2.7 lbs, and it functions quickly. CONS: shoddy construction. I saw it myself. The geek squad guy took it apart in front of me. I could actually see the problem. There is an element within the computer that has something to do with the screen. Whatever glue is supposed to hold it together is NOT doing its job. All of these computers have failed within two weeks. ...Well, not entirely - # 1 and 3 both had tremendous touchscreen issues. It would select things when I was at the table, with my family eating dinner- in the other room. It also elected to move my files whenever it darn well pleased, and close out my tabs. Those may not sound like very serious issues to you, but can you imaine this occurring as a student? During your online class final - which under no circumstances are you allowed to retake? (I wish I was being dramatic.) Yoga 700 number 2 had an irreparable videocard error that happened completely out of the blue. That was the one I explored with the geek squad guy. Now, in Lenovo's defense, these were all from the same store, maybe it was a bad batch. I still want to get a Lenovo, but I will definitely be getting a computer with 4.5 to 5 star reviews. No less. Please be aware of the headaches this system may cause you before purchasing. That is all.

The windows 10 on a touch-pad takes getting used to. It is a fast computer, more than adequate for home and small business use. I still have a hard time enjoying this folded over as a large tablet device when the keys become the bottom of the computer.

I just purchased the 700 Yoga a week ago. I am a programmer, script writer in IT. Also vpn to my network and remote desktop computers. Handles good with Office 2016, fast with Excel spreadsheets. Web pages serve up quick (given bandwidth). I like the feel, the compact design. The 2and1 goes into tablet mode without hesitation. Read a bad review about the play out audio sound, but its a laptop thinbook. I use headphones anyways. Mouse pad is sticky and hard to navigate but I use a wireless mouse. Up to this point I believe I will keep this puppy. I love the feel and it gets the job done.

I was looking for a particular set of features and this product came the closest to having them all in the price range I was willing to consider. I don't really use the tablet feature that much, but it could be very convenient under some circumstances. If I were using this in a more conventional mode, I'd find the size, weight, features, and battery life very appealing. I have this product mounted in my vehicle for use with my amateur radio equipment and it does just what I need. I wanted a Windows 10 laptop with a lighted keyboard, a solid state drive, and a touchscreen. I was hoping for a matte finish screen and USB ports on the rear, but I couldn't find that on any new laptop. I have noticed one issue that has yet to be resolved. The Lenovo folks think it may have a defective sensor that decides about whether it's being used in laptop mode or tablet mode. I only use it in laptop mode, but it occasionally gets into a mode in which the keyboard and the touchpad are not active. The touchscreen still works fine. Eventually it gets back into laptop mode. This is not critical, but it is an annoyance. One other issue is that because I use this in a vehicle, I expected to be able to get a fairly inexpensive DC power supply for it as I had for its predecessor. (I prefer not to use a DC-AC inverter and the AC power supply as that seems like a lot of inefficient conversion that a $13 DC-DC converter can eliminate.) This product has a very unique power connector on it and it's very difficult to find a DC supply for it (Lenovo doesn't even offer one!). I found the only one in existence and it works well, but it was really expensive (literally ten times the cost of the one I was using with the computer this product replaced...). I rarely use it on its internal battery, but I find that its battery life is very good on those occasions when I do. I'm enjoying this product and I have successfully put most of its features to use.

Thank you for choosing the Lenovo Yoga 700-14. With regard to the issue you mention with changing modes with the Yoga 700-14. There may be a driver update that can improve performance. You can follow the link to Lenovo.com support-drivers and look for new driver updates for your specific system. Be sure to create a restore point on your system before you make any changes, then create a new restore point once the issue is fixed. Here is the link:

When I was planning to buy the laptop, i didn't want to spend much money, thinking of everyday tech changes; but yes this has caught my eyes a few times and I read the reviews about it. With great reviews, it sounded a good buy. To be true money wise, I am still not sure, this is best buy. 256GB SSD probably you can get in much cheaper laptops, if size is not a constraint. You cannot take out the keyboard, so 360 degree option doesn't come very useful and handy, if you are looking to type a word or excel document esp. Only reason not to go Win Pro was the size. I needed min 14" size for my school. But yes, light weight; 360 option is good to show off to friends, not more than that; SSD helps; wish I can upgrade it further.

I bought this laptop to replace my six year old computer that I had been lugging around for too long. This Lenovo is slim and light and has all of the features I was looking for. I thought the 14" screen would be an issue but it's not because the resolution is the best I've seen. The battery life is more than adequate and the backlit keyboard

Overall a very nice laptop. Had a few glitches with the screen going crazy as if you were touching it all over the place opening up different programs. Did a update recommendation on the web and that has cleared up however it will occasionally just shut down on its own. I really love this touch screen laptop when it is working correctly and the kids love it too flipped over watching movies but with the glitches just can't give it 5 stars.

We chose Lenovo because I bought my wife a Yoga a few years back and it has been very reliable. The Yoga 700 was easy to set up with Windows 10 and doesn't come with too much crapware (one of the reasons we stayed away from HP and Toshiba is past experience with crapware) I like the SSD hard drive, but had to settle with limited space, so use of OneDrive, Google Drive or my external storage for all our family photos and video will be key to reserving room for applications and gaming on the laptop. We have kids in Middle School and High School, and assignments, calendars, and shared documents are cloud based. A lot of their learning and application of knowledge is now done through flash player, cloud document exchange and even youtube. With the intensity of data that comes through these websites the Core I5 processor seems to be handling it well, a huge jump from our Pentium home PC with only 2GB RAM. This laptop will become my daughter's next year when she goes to High School and I feel confident that it will exceed her needs. The two things i'd like to have on this laptop are more USB ports and up-gradable memory; the max memory on the Yoga 700 is 8GB, so it will probably be obsolete and slow in 3 or 4 years when 32GB or 64GB may be the standard.

Was looking for a solid state drive with decent size, a slightly bigger screen than the 13.3s. This fit the bill. I read a lot of reviews and knew of the concerns about phantom touches on screen, touch pad and graphics card issues. These are real, but they are easy fixes with the latest Windows 10 update and by downloading a fix from the Lenovo website. The laptop feels a little glitchy, although it's hard to put a finger on why exactly. But it is beautifully designed and well built. And it performs fast with pretty good battery life (I've been getting 8 hours). If you can get it on sale, it's a pretty good deal.

Left my iPad for this and never looked back. Other similar "convertible notebooks" are offered with only 4G of RAM, good luck with multi-tasking with 4G. And those with the 15 inch screens are simply too large and cumbersome. This Lenovo 700 has captured the "sweet spot" in the market with a fully-capable notebook-tablet that has 8G RAM, more than enough to actually work with, and a speedy solid-state 256G drive that's plenty large enough for MS Office and many other Windows apps while still having room for data and photos. The 14" screen is amazing... bright, extremely high resolution, and perfect for my main use, photo editing. A 15" is too cumbersome, the 13" too small. The price point on this Yoga 700 is also "just right" - and check your nearest Best Buy for "Open Box" returns with even better prices.
