I used a PC up till my daughter suggested that I needed to move into the 21st century and get a laptop. I'm struggling with it, too used to a PC, I guess. It's not as bad as I feared and the mouse is actually easier to use than I expected, but it took 3 weeks and the tape falling off for me to find the camera. I think I'll like it more as i adjust to it, but my cat sat on it the day after I got it, so I guess it's a seal of approval.

It took six months for me to research and narrow down my choices to the HP envyx360, the Dell xps13 and the Lenovo c940. I needed excellent audio, above 300 nit display and a large enough deck to rest my palms. After almost a month of use, I am still super happy with my decision. Very light to tote around, very smart battery saving program and amazing Dolby atmos sound shaper. I waited for the Black Friday Sale AND bought open box "excellent" and saved a ton of money. Do not buy the 4k, you don't need it! The unit is fast, bright and works great in tent mode using the touch screen. I went from a 17 inch HP to this 14 inch and do not feel any loss. Buy it and be happy.

We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Lenovo Yoga C940-14. Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686. Lenovo

Got this for my son as a gift and he loves it... The ultra-slim compact design and longer battery time give him all the speed and portability that he needs. The garaged active digital pen is a nice and unique feature to allow my college artist to draw whenever he feels like to. The NVMe SSD is definitely super fast, full-HD screen, despite not being 4K, still looks crisp, would highly recommend it.

Thank you for choosing the Lenovo Yoga C940-14 for your son. We are pleased to hear that the cutting edge features and the performance of the Yoga C940-14 meets your son's computing needs so well. Designed to be equally stylish in every position, the Yoga C930 is crafted from premium aluminum with high-precision drills and polished twice for a luxurious feel. Not only will you have a sleek looking 2-in-1 laptop, you’ll also have a marvelous feat in cutting edge computer engineering. The Yoga C930 offers 12GB of DDR4-2400MHz RAM, 256GB SSD PCIe of super-fast storage, as well as 8th Generation Intel Core i7 processing. So you'll have a system engineered for powerful responsiveness and speed in a razor-thin convertible. Combine display clarity with the ultra vivid imaging of Dolby Vision. Experience brighter brights, darker blacks, and colors never before seen on standard displays—the true red of an English double-decker bus, or the sharp blue of a summer sky. By shifting components, we were able to edge the screen with razor-thin 4.95 mm vertical bezels that will make the absolute most of your visuals. Working hand-in-hand with Dolby, we created the word's first speakers that fit into a convertible hinge via a rotating sound bar, delivering powerful immersive sound in every mode. The Yoga C930's Rotating Sound Bar with Dolby Atmos Speaker System is truly revolutionary, as the audio sound will be just as amazing whatever mode you're in: tent, stand, tablet, or laptop. Dolby Atmos delivers breathtaking, three-dimensional audio that flows above and around you with depth and precision. Combining two sets of speakers - featuring powerful down-firing woofers, custom tweeters, and unique vibration buffers that reduce unwanted noise - your audio will sound bigger, deeper, and more accurate. It’s sound you can feel. We've heard from you that keeping track of a digital pen can be a pain. With a garaged pen (included) that fits flush into the chassis, you won't have to worry about looking for your pen when you need it. The Yoga C930 ensures you'll be able to capture your thoughts the moment they occur because it charges while in its compartment and is ready to go. With its 4,096 points of pressure sensitivity in the tip of the pen, it provides the natural feel of a pen-on-paper experience, with twice the accuracy of competitors' pens. Lenovo

We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with the initial setup of your Lenovo Yoga C940-14. It is possible that restoring the computer back to original factory settings may correct the issue. This system is equipped with OneKey Recovery System. There is a very small pin hole on the back left side of the device, right near the cooling vent on the device. You will need a pin to push this reset button. Plug the device in. Let the battery charge for about 15 minutes. Push the reset button. The system should boot to a choice screen where you can choose "Restore To Factory Default". Select this. It will delete everything from the hard drive except the original factory install of the operating system. You will need to reinstall all programs and files after the reset. If you don't have copies of the files, try to make one before you restore by selecting "Boot to desktop" and trying to back up your files. Once you have restored the computer, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. I use this laptop for work and my business and it handles all the work I throw at it! The speed of the computer with the 12GB of RAM and the 512GB Solid State Drive makes the experience super smooth every single time I turn it on and use it. I also game on this computer from time from time to time and it handles Skyrim, The Witcher very well. Although it does not have a NVidia chip included, but it does the job with the Intel Iris Plus graphics that it comes with. The build of the laptop is amazing with the key board being very well built. I love this laptop and got it for a great price last year I recommend this beast of a laptop to anyone. Oh and it has a pen which is convenient for taking notes.

The amount of storage is great for the price, which is the main reason I bought it. I never wanted to see “Your Startup Disk is Full” ever again! I use this computer for general use (bills, shopping) and light work for grad school (no crazy programs). I’ve had MacBooks since 2010 and I will say this is not as nice as a MacBook, nor is it as nice as Microsoft Surface 3 Laptop (my husband has one). It is not as sleek or smooth as either if that makes sense, but I use Windows at work and it made sense to also use it at home as well. Here are my main gripes coming from using a MacBook for 10 years: - The track pad is tiring to use on the finger. Not as slide-y as the MacBook. - The keyboard buttons are a little strangely placed. I’ve had it for almost a month and it’s still hard for me to type quickly without lots of typos. - The webcam is very dark. I have to have my screen brightness all the way up in Zoom calls so I don’t look like I’m in a cave. - The speakers sound like they are in a cave almost, or like there is too much bass. Not as loud/clear as a MacBook. Pros: - Love the finger print unlock. - Nice and clear display. - Fast (so far). - The tablet/flip option is kind of cool for having your recipe up while cooking. Overall I am happy with it, it is just going to take some getting used to coming from a Mac. While the “experience” of using this laptop isn’t as nice as a Mac, I don’t think I’ll ever go back to a MacBook. If you’re looking for something fast with a nice display and lots of storage, I highly recommend.

With regard to the touchpad on your Lenovo Yoga C940-14, you can make adjustments to the touchpad in your system settings. You can get there by clicking on the magnifying glass at the bottom left of your Windows 10 screen. Type "touchpad" in the search window. Select "Mouse & touchpad settings" from the list of choices. You can make general adjustments to the touchpad there. You can also select "Additional mouse options" for more detailed adjustments to the touchpad sensitivity by increasing the delay of the touchpad. The Yoga C940-14 ships with a standard QWERTY keyboard with the keys having approximately 1.5mm travel. The Yoga C940-14 ships with a 720p (HD) webcam. Here is a link to instructions for adjusting the brightness of your webcam within Windows 10:  https://www.howto-connect.com/change-camera-brightness-windows-10/. The Yoga C940-14 ships with a convertible hinge, that hides a powerful Dolby Atmos Speaker System that immerses you in 3D sound in every mode you position the screen in. Combined with two sets of speakers featuring powerful subwoofers, custom tweeters, and unique vibration buffers that reduce unwanted noise, your audio will sound bigger, deeper, and more accurate. This is my first ever review. I had the yoga 900 for about 3 years but it started to heat up and the fan would constantly run for no reason. I was skeptical to buy another laptop but needed one because I am a med student. I really liked the specs on the c940 and decided to give Lenovo one more chance. I purchased the C940 during the Black Friday deal and it arrived as expected, in two days. I have been using it for a little over 2 months now. I wanted to get some use in before writing my review. So far I am pretty happy with the purchase. The laptop is really well-built, way better than the previous model. Its sturdy and the included pen is amazing. It writes so smoothly with no glitches. I love the fact that there is a built-in space dedicated to the pen so you don't lose it. The fan was an issue the first couple weeks but I believe that was due to a specific app I was running for online classes. Once my class ended, I don't seem to have the issue anymore. Ever so often- maybe once a week or so I will notice the fan is running for a few mins but after a few mins it goes away. I have the Quiet/Intelligent Cooling mode on and that is a great addition to this model. The battery life is very good. I charge my laptop once a day at bedtime after using it all day with the battery saver on sometimes. Another perk with this model is it has Lenovo Vantage built in where you can go and set it to stop charging the laptop when it gets to say, 60% to preserve the life of the battery even when the charger is plugged in. The screen size is great it has edge to edge display which maximizes the screen size. The audio is far better than most previous laptops I have had. My Pros: Battery life, Display, Build, Included Pen, Lenovo Vantage, Intelligent cooling/Quiet mode, Bigger mouse pad My Cons: every once in a while fan starts running for a few mins for no reason and automatically shuts off

I use a Macbook Pro for work, but really don't love macOS, or the complete lack of touch screen or basically any innovation in the mac lineup in a long time. My Chromebook was hardly able to handle video anymore, and overall ChromeOS just doesn't do what I need it to - particularly with photo editing while on vacations. In my search for a laptop, I knew I wanted a 2-in-1 to have the flexibility of a nice large tablet, as my Nexus 7 is well past the end of its life. I wanted touchscreen, and an active pen with a garage. Shockingly, the garage feature isn't available on most 2-in-1 laptops! I wanted at least 12GB of RAM because websites and modern browsers are hungry these days, and that will only get worse. I *really* wanted an AMD Ryzen 7 chip, but unfortunately that never seems to be paired with a bright screen, so I had to settle for Intel i7 & Iris+ graphics. My search landed me on the C940, as it has an acceptable amount of RAM and SSD storage, good processor, quality build, (barely) bright enough screen for outdoor use with a high color gamut for photo editing, and the garage pen functionality. The Good: * So far, I've been impressed with the build quality. It feels solid. * I like the keyboard feel quite a bit - much more than the shallow travel of the Macbook. * The touchpad is acceptable, though it took me a while to figure out why many clicks kept registering as a "right click" - turns out the lower right section of the trackpad was set to act as right click by default. Easy enough to disable that hidden "feature"! * Lenovo did a good job of NOT installing a bunch of spammy demo software! MS Office might be the worst offender - easy enough to uninstall. * I actually find their update and configuration utility useful. * Lenovo's extended warranty and accidental damage protection plans are reasonably priced. I'm impressed with the details they've put into their customer experience - much improved over my HP days of 10 years or so ago! * The laptop has been stable, runs relatively cool and quiet most of the time. Even when the fan is on full speed it isn't terrible. * Battery life has been impressive. * Fingerprint scanner has been quick and reliable - much better than my Samsung Galaxy S9, for instance * I never expect to use a laptop's speakers for music, but the speakers are shockingly good with mysteriously strong bass, if needed in a pinch. * Physical camera shade The bad: * I didn't realize until I started playing around in Corel Painter - the active pen does NOT have tilt functionality! I didn't realize this was a thing that I wanted until I started actually *using* the active pen. This is quite a disappointment - especially if you intend to use this for digital art creation! I can only hope that Lenovo offers a tilt pen upgrade that fits in the garage. * No USB-C charging ports on the right side of the laptop. I swear, every single place I sit in my house, the wall outlet is on the right side of the couch, chair, table. This means crossing the cable over my lap, or under me. One port on the right would have made all of the difference. * Doesn't charge with lower-powered USB-C PD chargers. This is something the Macbook will do - charge with a phone charger (slowly). Sometimes, that's all you got, and its better than nothing!

    Design, Speed

I should've known better. I keep getting reeled in by Yoga specs, and every time there is some problem from the start. This one is no different. But this time I'm returning and not going to bother with Geek Squad or the mess that is Lenovo factory service. 1) Second time I started up the machine, the screen was bright, blinding green. Only thing that made it go away was restarting computer. 2) 3rd time I tried using machine, fingerprint scanner did not recognize me. Had to use pin to sign in. Now it's a crapshoot each time I try starting the computer. Sometimes scanner works, sometimes it doesn't. My fingerprint hasn't changed... 3) Also 3rd time I started up computer (after using pin because fingerprint didn't work), the screen was bright red/pink. This time it reverted back to normal after a minute or so. 4) Still third time using computer, now when I scroll vertically on websites, the screen will momentarily turn black. This also happened with my Yoga 900. 5) Uncomfortable keyboard. Surface is too hard after using Yoga 900 rubberized board, and the edge is really sharp, as mentioned in another review. My hands feel weirdly overextended or cramped when typing. I honestly can't figure out which. Only that they start to hurt while using this keyboard. Sound quality is nice, speed is good. But display problems out of the box is too reminiscent of my Yoga 900 and Yoga Pro 2. Not going to deal wit the hassle again. Tried out a Dell XPS 2 in 1 today and I'm going to order one. My last Dell had almost no issues until the hinge broke. All my Yogas have been beautiful to look at, but too many technical problems and no support at all from Lenovo. it's an awful company. Returning.

We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Lenovo Yoga C940-14. Concerning the screen image issues you mention, be sure the latest version of Windows 10 is on the computer. Then update all of the BIOS files and drivers up to that latest Windows 10 version. You can easily accomplish this by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software installed. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. Here's a tip for making your fingerprint reader work every time: Try lightly sliding your finger over the fingerprint reader. No need to press hard on the reader, in fact pressing hard on the fingerprint reader will distort your fingerprint and cause read errors. If the issues continue, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support for specific help with your issues at: 877-453-6686. Lenovo

This was my first time buying a Lenovo laptop and boy let me tell you, IT WAS WORTH IT!. The yoga c940 is a beast at what it do best. It is very responsive. Turn on and load in under 10 second. I was even beginning to wonder if this was even a Windows laptop. The 2 in 1 functionality is a give away. When you wanna draw or design some stuff this is made easy and include a touch pen that is point blank accurate. **Display** The display is stunning bright and beautiful to work with. It fact, it is very detail and rich picture in quality. I can't complain much except only hiccups with display is that it is reflective so you might want to get an anti-glare screen protector. **Design** The lightest laptop i ever used. I can easily take it with me and store with no problems. Just note that it will show touch impression from residue/sweat mark from your finger etc but easy clean with one wipe. **Battery** This is quiet impressive. This whole day battery and fast charge. I used pc for development and i am compiling lot of code and running application that drink battery like juice and it survived 9 to 10 hours of development torture.

    Pros mentioned:
    Battery life, Display, Price
    Cons mentioned:
    Keyboard

This was the one 13-inch-ish laptop that my college-student-to-be liked in side-by-side comparisons with the Dell XPS 13 and HP Spectre 13. Both of those felt too small for her, although there is not a major difference between a 13.3 and 14" screen. But the keyboard on those feels cramped because there is no *gutter* space on the left and right sides of the keys. Yes, we understand that this is so you can make the body smaller, but some people like to have edges... At least on the keyboard--nobody likes fat screen bezels. Speaking of which, this top bezel bump for the webcam is actually a nice design thing. My HP Spectre can be awfully hard to open with the beveled edge, firm hinge, and flush edges. So the bump makes it easier to open. Liked the specs for college use. With 12 of RAM you're nicely situated between 8 and 16. Plenty of speed without paying for it in battery drain. (My son's Dell XPS 15 sucks battery life, what with the 4K resolution, 15" screen size, and 16gb of RAM. And speaking of display, this is also great for college students who want battery life for doing work (as opposed to skipping homework to do gaming or stream Netflix or Hulu). The HD display is very nice, and for *normal* computer work the trade-off of 4K for longer battery life was worth it. Semi-complaint: USB-C world is just dongle dependent. Not a fan of it, but what can you do? Love that my 3-year-old Spectre has plugs for everything, but all of the skinny premium 2-in-ones now have far fewer options. This Lenovo does have one full-size USB slot, though, which will be handy. Real compaint: the cursor frequently disappears. This seems to be a known problem with Lenovo. What you do to get it back is put the laptop in tablet mode and then switch it back. You can do this physically, but you can also use your taskbar (lower right). My expectation that this will be a firmware fix at some point. So I'd definitely recommend it, especially to someone who favors battery life over super-saturated colors (that probably aren't necessary for most people).

Thank you for choosing the Lenovo Yoga C940-14 your student. Regarding the cursor disappearing, first be sure that the HotKey in the F6 position on the Yoga C940-14 keyboard has not been inadvertently tapped. This HotKey toggles the touchpad on/off and will have the effect of making the cursor disappear. Next time the cursor disappears, tap the F6 HotKey to see if it reappears. If not, be sure the computer has the latest version of Windows 10, the update all of the BIOS files and drivers to this latest version of Windows 10. You can easily accomplish this by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software available on this computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. I love this computer. I was hesitant because of the price but it is exactly what I expected and then some. Great touch screen (and even better with the Lenovo Pen). The computer is smaller than what I have had in the past but it's plenty big enough for what I needed. Runs lots of statistical and programming software with ease. Very quick to turn on/boot up. Overall worth the money.

Enjoying the features of the Yoga C940. Was able to transfer all my legacy files without any loss. Secure in knowing they are there for support when I have issues or need help. The security features, the touch screen and the finger print login are three of my favorite features. Perfect screen size and weight for ease of portability but also large enough to review documents and watch videos. Exactly what I needed to solve both my home and travel needs in one device.

Its a really good laptop, very easy to use and very light too.. so far, I have no problems booting the machine, or no delays while opening it up from sleep. It has very fast processor and no lagging issues as of now. Although it seems to leave the color while viewing ultra hd content. But no major issues in that since it comes up very quickly from that.
