The Lexmark 100 Black Injet Cartridge installs easily, snapping into the left slot of the wide, easy to access printhead. The Cartridge info is linked to the printer via RFID, so there are no loose or dirty electrical contacts to worry about. Ink seems to be of high quality, very dark, drys quickly and seems smear resistant. A well thought out physical and electrical design which provides great output. However, the 100 cartridges ,in my experience, of printing an even mix of text and photos, over the last 3 months of printer use, has about one fourth to one third the page yield of the 100XL cartridges, which sells for only about 35 to 40% more for a much larger ink capacity cartridge. I would only recommend the 100 cartridge for users who are very infrequent users or who are not concerned about low yields and higher per page ink costs. All other users would be much better off with the 100XL, the larger capacity, higher yield cartridge.

Will not be ordering this item again. Not sure if it was an old one which was received less than a month ago and installed for about 18 days and keep getting low black ink message. Printed very little!! Wast of money!
