After three years my freezer was unable to keep temp. I purchased the Geek squad protection and after 4 service calls no one has been able to fix the refrigerator. After the second service call my refrigerator stopped working, completely spoiling all the food that was not already lost when the freezer stopped working. I am not as unhappy with the fridge as i am completely frustrated with the service provided by the Geek Squad repair subcontractor.

Or at least, get the extended warranty! Lasted 2 years 9 months. For real. Arrived home and the freezer was and fridge were warm. No help from Lg customer support. They said I have to get a tech out to fix it. Paid a guy $85 to say someone else needed to replace the compressor and or some of the electronics. Hmmmm I don't think so. Then I'm stuck again with disposing of all of my food (expensive gluten free) not to mention we just had a baby and tossed over 48oz of mommies milk! Yikes! Not a happy momma. Thanks Lg. No, life is not good. I am buying a different brand and definitely getting the Geek Squad Warranty. They even help pay for "food spoilage" nice! But don't think I am letting the delivery crew take this Lg junk. Nope! Im going to go "Office Space printer scene" on it.

The product is great. We WOULD NOT buy another appliance at Best Buy due to not being advised we needed to have a stainless steel waterline kit. The delivery men were not able to connect the icemaker and water, and said the salesperson was supposed to let us know to get a waterline kit. My husband went to Best Buy in Crystal Lake, and spoke with the store manager. The store manager said the salesman cannot tell the customer about the need for a waterline kit, as each home is different. Are you willing to purchase something from a store whose manager and salespeople can't be bothered with making sure the customer has the right equipment for getting the refrigerator installed???? We had to install the waterline ourselves, when the delivery people could have done it, had the waterline kit been mentioned and made available at the time of purchase.

this fridge looks great and operates great. love the French door style. everything in the fridge is so easily accessible. the only draw back is if you are a frequent ice user (we are not) but the container does not hold a lot of ice, probably less than a 10 full glasses and it's slower than other ice machines at making the ice. but not an issue for us!

This was an upgrade from a 2 door fridge. Silent, lots of space and cools well. The controls are easy to use. My only concern is that the doors will not close shut on their own if we do not push them all the way. The open door alert helps with this though.

For a refrigerator of this size, LG has installed the smallest ice maker in the history of man. I have had the fridge now for three days waiting for ice output to catch up with the demands of my five-person family, and it's just not able to keep up with us. We are having to carry ice from our other refrigerator, which is very inconvenient. This might be enough ice for a single person, or maybe people who like to have one ice cube in their drinks, but that's not the way most people do it in America. Caveat emptor. Three stars because otherwise works as advertised.

I wish I would have read reviews more carefully, especially those written by people who have units for 1 full year. EXPENSIVE repairs less than 18 months from time of purchase. Good luck finding a repair person willing to work on these fridges. Well known history of shoddy workmanship, so much so, reputable repair people refuse to work on them. Just sunk $800 into an essentially new fridge to keep it running.

I purchased this refrigerator yesterday. It makes lots of noise. It is way louder than my 10 years old fridge. It makes a loud high pitched humming noise for about 30 or 40 minutes, "shuts off", is silent for 5 minutes, then the cycle repeats. There are no hissing, rattling, popping sounds. It is so loud I can hear it upstairs and it is giving me headaches. If I knew this problem, I wouldn't buy it. I'll call customer service and ask if it is a defect or not.

I bought this refrigerator three years ago. It is worthless. The gasket around the door is ripping and it is full of black mold. The freezer has broken down and need to be repaired after only one year of use. The ice maker jams constantly and falls apart. Literally into pieces and needs to be re assembled. Don't waste your money. This is the worst excuse for an appliance I have seen in a while. I was told that my extended warranty did not cover the gasket. I told them the door is not set right otherwise black mold would not grow on the refrigerator. This appliance is not being abused I live alone and am the only one using it. It would certainly not stand up to a family's use.

This is an expensive refrigerator but it has many nice features.

Ours was delivered yesterday. It does not work. Compressor gets very hot, fan stays on, absolutely no cooling. Refrigerator compartment is stagnant, with no air circulating at all. Freezer is circulating very hot air. On the bright side, Best Buy got the repair guys to some out the next day. Don''t know if they can fix it yet though. So, off to a great start. Also, as for the frig itself - seems nice enough. The pics are deceiving though. The shelves on the left side door are very shallow due to the ice maker.

Freezer stopped working. Just found out there was a class action lawsuit. Offciurse no one knew about it.

We purchased this refrigerator about a month ago. It stopped making ice, so we exchanged it for the exact same on and low and behold it is doing the same thing. We were really disappointed bc the associate told us it makes a ton of ice...well it does not and it takes forever to drop any even on the ice plus setting. Do not waste your money!!!

This unit died 13 months to the day after getting it. I have tried to contact the LG service center, but they are unresponsive. The phone system is down and the service request form on LG.com is also not working. This is my second LG appliance to die. I bought both for the great sounding warranty, but I can't get service so what good does that do? I will never buy LG again.

Ice maker never dispensed ice well. Always have to open and break up ice. Then the ice maker quit dumping the ice which then lead to it no longer freezing ice along with the freezer bottom no longer freezing food. So we no longer have ice maker or a freezer on it. Bad design: the water spout is on the front instead of in the water/ice hole. So anytime we have a guest over whom tries to get water out of the fridge, they end up wet along with the floor. Also because of the location of the water spout, when you try to get water in the dark you can not see how full it is getting bc the light is under the water/ice hole not out front.

A nice refrigerator, but literally the week after the warranty expired, the ice maker broke and had to pay to get it repaired.

We purchased this refrigerator because we had read it was very quiet with the new LG compressor. The compressor is quiet, but there is a fan that runs 24 hours a day to circulate the air. This humming fan only stops when you open the door. I would not recommend this fridge if you have an open floor plan.
