Q: Annoying and stressful humming sound

A: We regret to read that your LG LG - 24.7 Cu. Ft. French Door Refrigerator with Thru-the-Door Ice and Water - Stainless/Stainless look Model # LFX25974ST is making a constant humming noise. While that constant humming noise is normal, your description of it being "deafening" is not and if the unit is still under the manufacturers' warranty, you would be well advised to contact the LG Customer Interactive Center at (800) 243-0000 and speak to a Call Representative who may assist you trouble shooting the unit and if it is determined that a service is necessary, they can set that up for you. If it is out of warranty, if it was through Best Buy, then contact the Geek Squad Services to set up a Service through that warranty...^IFV

Q: need the outside size of the refrigerator modle # lfx25974sb sku 2869035 how tall and how wide? LG 24.7

A: Height To Top Of Refrigerator is 68.38 inches and the width is 35.75 inches.

Q: what is the "usable" cubic feet of this refrigerator

A: almost all the advertised space is usable. Very smart layout

Q: Is the ice filtered?

A: Yes, the ice is filtered.

Q: Question Concerning Depth

A: I think the 1" is the minimum required. I would hesitate to put this with just 1/8" on the sides, although the side clearance might just be to help with installation, not really required for ventilation. I would not remove drywall to get additional clearance - the most you are going to get is about 1/2". Drilling holes isn't going to help either - you need space for hot air to escape, so holes in the drywall aren't going to help. The additional vertical clearance may compensate for the lack of rear clearance, but you would need to consult with someone more knowledgeable to be sure. I would check with LG to see if the clearances are enough and more importantly if it will affect the warranty in any way. One reason for getting this fridge is it has a 10 year compressor warranty.

Q: DOES THE ICE OCCASIONALLY GET STUCK IN THE ICE CHUTE? MY DAUGHTER JUST BOUGHT THE 35/6 CU. FT. MODEL AND THE ICE SOMETIMES GETS STUCK AND HAS TO BE MANUALLY CLEANED OUT.

A: I've had no problem with ice machine yet. I read in the manual this is sometimes a problem when ice dispenser is set for crushed ice. Mine is set for cubes.
