So Quiet!

I did not know a dishwasher could be so quiet. My old one still worked but was loud and I wanted to upgrade my kitchen with matching stainless steel appliances after my microwave died. I only hear it when I put it on the scrub setting mostly at the beginning of the cycle and it is still pretty quiet where I do not have to turn up the TV volume to drown it out. It has a nice chime when it is done but I wish I did not have to guess each time which 2 buttons I have to press to turn off the chime when I run it while we are sleeping. Luckily it has not woke me up yet! I'll have to read the directions again! You do have to rinse the dishes well before placing them in if you are not using the scrub cycle. My dishes fit in it pretty well. I do not find myself changing the racks ever. Overall I am pleased with it!

Bought this LG dishwasher to replace the builder's junk Sears dishwasher. The LG dishwasher is so quiet you have to check it to ensure that it's running. Many cycles to choose from, along with the finishing cycles. Cleans everything thrown at it. Great price too when it's on sale. This is my 5th LG appliance and haven't had any issues with any of the appliances. I have the white finish LG dishwasher, as all my other LG appliances are white.

Takes too long, but cleans and dries well

The good: It dries pretty well but I've needed to put the "extra dry" to get it that way. I do like that there is some adaptability of the shelves so you can fit it best to what you need to dry. Very quiet!
The bad: The wash and dry (+extra dry) takes about 3:30 hours, which seems too long. Also, although it is nice to rearrange the prongs on the shelves, they don't stay in place very well and if you tug it the wrong way the whole thing falls down. I usually rinse items gently before putting them in, but I've noticed that it can harbor a smell if it takes a few days to fill it up.

I was provided this model dishwasher after the original LG dishwasher I bought had a factory defect. I was advised that my model was no longer being carried and that this was an option. I had a nightmare with the Best Buy installer and had to have a real plumber fix the installer's mistakes. Also don't believe the Best Buy employees when they state you have to purchase a dishwasher hook up kit for an extra $30. After my plumber hooked it up, it is the best dishwasher I have ever owned. This dishwasher was definitely worth the litte bit of extra money.

I can't even hear the dishwasher running! I use the quick cycle instead of the normal cycle. It's about half the time and the dishes still came out spotless! I love it!

Great dishwasher

Just got this delivered and installed today. It's currently washing it's second load. It did a great job on the first batch of dishes. One thing I noticed is that with the "Hybrid Drying System", the dishes don't come out so hot you can't touch them. They were perfectly dry and just warm to the touch.
I'll say this. So far so good. Allow me to put some context on this review. This dishwasher replaced a Bosch SHY66C05UC. At the time we bought it, it was the most expensive dishwasher that Sears sold. In my experience, dishwashers tend to be an appliance you take for granted. Over the years, I can't recall ever having a dishwasher repaired. The Bosch was great for the first 3 years. Years 4-8 were an entirely different experience. I had at least one major failure per year with it. The electronics on it finally went out right before Christmas this year and rather then spend $350 to replace the failed part, I decided enough was enough. My point? Try to find a review on the above Bosch dishwasher. You can't. Reviews on appliances like this are fine but if you notice, most of them are all based on purchases made in the last few months. If I had reviewed the Bosch in the first 3 years, I probably would've reviewed it very high. In the end, I wouldn't even give it a single star.
Out of the box, this LG dishwasher works as advertised. Will it fulfill the destiny that I have chosen for it, to do its job well for many years with minimal repairs, or will it start to fall apart after a few years. I wish I could come back here to tell you but this review will be long gone by then.

Do not buy this dishwasher unless you ready to buy another one in less than 2 years. We purchased this dishwasher in July 2013 and experienced our first problem in January 2015. The LG repair men came out three separate times to fix the problem. After the repair, our extremely quiet dishwasher sounded like a jet engine with every cycle. Our dishwasher broke again in April 2015, flashing the same error code as before. After the hassle of communicating with the LG service department and our frustration with this product, we are cutting our losses and buying a new one. Do not buy!!!

The dishwasher looks beautiful in our new kitchen. It's ridiculously quiet. It has done a great job washing dishes and even our tupperware is dry at the end of the cycle. Very, very happy with purchase.
Love the countdown to finish and end of cycle tune.

I purchased this dishwasher from Best Buy a couple weeks ago and love it. I read the reviews but so far have not had any problems. I had them install the machine and could not be more pleased. The guys were very professional, knowlegible and did a great job. They leveled it and checked it twice and I have no problem with the door as some stated in reviews. He explained that this dishwasher did not have a heater for the water that it would only get as hot as your regular hot water which could explain some of the complaints for dishes not drying. My dishes are dry when I take them out. It cleans perfectly. I am very happy with my purchase of this dishwasher with Best Buy.

Got this dishwasher to replace one that came in home. Works well. Dishes come out clean as long as you don't overstuff it or smash two dishes together, which should be obvious.
I have trouble with the touch controls, my wife does not. So maybe try it out at the store if they can to see if bugs you or not.

It doesn't dry the dishes and takes a VERY long time to wash. It is very quiet and that is great but after the delivery man left we took the stickers off and there were 2 big scratches under it
Pros
Cleans great
quiet
fits a lot
Cons
scratched on arrival
not very energy efficient
Doesn't dry dishes
silverware basket is kinda silly with the 3 pieces the way they are

Poor Drying/Cleaning

I love how quiet the dishwasher is, you can barely hear it running, but without the heated drying cycle the dishes are still very wet once the cycle is complete. I also like the timer on the front so you can see how much longer until your dishes are clean. I don't like the unit for the smell, I feel that the unit locks in a odor even when my dishes are rinsed before going in and I don't believe they get as clean as they should be.
Unfortunately I will be returning my unit, after trying it for just about 2 months, I just do not like it.

Worst Appliance Ever Purchase/Used

Let me start with the positives on this dishwasher. OK. Now I can get to the negatives. The first problem was that it flooded my kitchen cabinets because the drainage pump malfunctioned. LG sent technician. That issue was resolved. The motherboard then malfunctioned. LG sent technician. That part was replaced. The dishwasher ran through a cycle OK but didn't clean the dishes properly leaving food residue and particles on everything. After more error codes and replaced parts, the technician said that there was nothing left to replace. The runaround from LG began at this point. I was told:
Don't rinse dishes too well before loading
Rinse dishes really well before loading
Put a bowl of white vinegar once a week and run a cycle
Use the Power Scrub cycle all the time
Use Jet-Dry Finish or else it won't clean
My water is too soft
My water is too hard (the old machine I had before - not LG - worked really well with the same water until the power blew on it)
None of these suggestions made a difference.
LG refused to replace the unit even though this dishwasher doesn't wash dishes. My kids have learned to literally scrape food particles off of the dishes and glasses before they use them even when we run two cycles. LG told me that they can't do anything about the problem since their technician reported that there's nothing left to replace on the machine. Seriously. I had the woman repeat that back to me and couldn't believe that she did so without even a hint of awareness how crazy that sounds. I've never had an appliance that was so utterly useless as this one and have never dealt with a company as disconnected from its customer than LG. Would I recommend to a friend? Never! Would I recommend to an enemy? No heart is that cold and no enemy that deserving.

Doesn't Last

We bought this dishwasher in April of 2013 to replace our Whirlpool dishwasher that had finally quite working after 11 years. When we forked out the $700+ for this dishwasher we went ahead and purchased the Best Buy 1 year extended warranty. That warranty expired last month. As fate would have it, the dishwasher quite working yesterday and I found out that my extended warranty expired a month prior. It won't turn on at all, like it's not getting power. I've read a couple reviews that state that people are having issues with the touch buttons. I don't recommend this dishwasher because it doesn't last.

Useless

I agree with all of the negative points about this dishwasher. The worst is that it's impossible to load in an efficient manner. The racks fold down, but that doesn't create a useful space. I can line up dinner plates, but no bowls. The dishes also don't dry well. The soap dish is too small. The silverware bin is long and unwieldy. There's a piece across the top that separates each piece of silver, in theory a nice idea, but there's nothing to keep this top closed, so if you pull out one piece of silver, you risk launching all of the silver onto the floor. The dishes don't always get clean, even after the cycle runs FOREVER, and sometimes there's a weird sliminess to some of the dishes. And the dishwasher sometimes, but not always, makes weird loud noises at the beginning of the cycle. Oh yes, and the cycles go on FOREVER!
I hate this dishwasher. Tragically, I only use it twice a week, so it'll last forever, since I'm not wasteful enough to throw it away. But what a waste of steel.

I find i have to use power wash all the time if I want even the simplest dishes cleaned. our water is not real hard and I never had this problem with the last dishwasher. they just don't seem to rinse well or come out sparkeling clean-have to re rinse too much even silverware. I use the products recommended but just not overjoyed with the results for the price i paid for this!!!!

sump assemby (dc motor unit) lasted only 13 months

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
I read the reviews and all seemed good at the time I purchased this LG dishwasher. I ran the washer once every two days on average. At 13 months the dishwasher threw an LE error code which meant the dc motor needed "repair" (read replacement). Do not run the machine in this situation more than once without protecting your floor since it will fill with water and never pump/drain, thus eventually overflowing... So I'm handy and replaced the sump assembly myself for $150 but I recommend getting the super extended warranty on this piece.... I plan to stay away from LG - its my first and last product from them.
