This is the discrepancy; the small water filter size is not enough to remove the foul smell and taste out of the drinking water and ice. I tried multiple brand of water filter including the LG brand and all failed. The only fix was, I installed an additional external water filter system which did the trick. We can now enjoy a clean and fresh tasting water and ice. My old 18 year old LG Refrigerator/Freezer combo with a much larger water filter did not have a smelly and foul tasting water. So, if you’re considering this LG Model, you may experience the same issue and may need to install a similar set-up.
