As the title states never buy open box especially when the geek squad member refuses to let you verify the condition the unit is in. To cut a long a long story short the monitor in my box was an older model lg unit that was broken and after trying to resolve the issue with best buy I got cursed out harassed hung up on and laughed at by cus service members and they refuse to do anything to resolve this for me. Just a overall lack of respect for a long time customer.

I’m not sure if I just recieved a faulty monitor or not, but while the monitor itself looks good it always took forever to turn on, usually much longer than my actual PC. As well, after 6 months of use, it suddenly died on me. Rather annoyed about the whole thing.

I wanted to love this monitor. When I am watching any video if I fullscreen the video it creates a frame loss/lag on the video. I have a 2080ti, and good pc specs. I am not sure if I just got a bad monitor?

So sick of having to unplug, plug reboot these monitors to get them to come on. Happens every time I boot into windows and leave on for a while.

9 months of daily use and am getting horizontal lines on the screen. really peeved. otherwise beautiful monitor but unacceptable at this price point.

Solid monitor for the clearance price. Currently compared to modern OLED models it's not as vibrant/clear but at the clearance price I got it - you can't beat 4k 144hz IPS for $329.

While not every panel is made the same, mine didn’t have any dead pixels or any dust behind the screen. I’ve never seen an HDR1000 panel, so I can’t speak to how it compares, but I’m very pleased with the monitor. It’s by far the best monitor I’ve ever had. Much better than my old 4K 60Hz non-HDR monitor. The colors on the display are amazing. The color wheel on the back of the panel is honestly a nicer experience than I was expecting (in video sync mode, which requires downloading the Ultra Gear Control Panel app). I imagine I’ll mainly use it for videos, rather than games. But we’ll see. The audio sync mode fell flat, whether selecting bass, mid, or treble. It just didn’t respond very accurately. As for the 16 dimming zones, this is where perhaps not all panels are made equal. MINE doesn’t suffer from much light bleed. But I’ve seen some on YouTube that did. So roll the dice, I guess. But having seen said YouTube videos before I bought the product, that was an area with my particular panel that was particularly pleasing. It’s a matte panel, but in my opinion, it really has the clarity of a glossy screen, while maintaining the benefits of low reflection of matte finishes. I saw a review on Amazon saying it doesn’t come with a DP 1.4 DSC cable. Mine did. As well as an HDMI cable, which I’m not using. The overall build quality is very high. The stand feels very robust and strong. The onboard controls are OK. It’s easy to move the control stick too quickly, where you’ll press it twice and it’ll only register once if you go too quick. But this isn’t an issue. Once you get it dialed in to your liking, you probably won’t spend much time in the monitor’s settings menu. Overall, I would 100% recommend this to a friend.

Love it. Switching from a 4k 60hz monitor to this 4k 144hz HDR Gsync monitor was a HUGE difference. This monitor can push my 3080 RTX to its limit. Only complaint is that the HDR mode seems to not be so great, it limits the viewing angle and dark colors are not great with HDR on. Would be disappointed but colors are outstanding with HDR off so not a big deal. With HDR off the colors still rival my samsung qled hdr q80 tv so im happy.

Was able to pick this up today at Best Buy and so far quite impressed. My main PC is down and waiting on the 3080s to build a new PC so right now I am stuck at 4k 95hz. The IPS panel has its flaws that all IPS panels have. Not great contrast, the blacks are not very deep and some IPS glow. Was kind of hoping I would be able to run this monitor 1440p and 144hz until the 3080 cards came out but seems DP only supports max 95 hz unless I have missed something.

One of the best gaming monitors I’ve ever seen. Price is steep but very worth it. (Would recommend getting on Black Friday)

Probably the best monitor I have ever used. Overclocks to 165htz and has a 1ms response time for a 4k. There is really nothing else close for the price. Buy it.

Please note, I love my LG monitors. This monitor is no exception but it has one MAJOR draw back. No HDMI 2.1. Sure display port will get you the full 144Hrz refresh rate, but if you ever plan to plug in your new Xbox or PlayStation (that claim to support 120Hrz/FPS at 4K on HDMI 2.1), you will be limited by the HDMI port for refresh rates (down to 60Hrz). The HDMI limitation is a MAJOR issue for me and I can't recommend this monitor because of it. For a $800 monitor, HDMI 2.1 is expected. Hopefully in time, LG will include it with future generations of this line. For people wanting the best of the best from a monitor/panel to play games on, this is one of the best on the market... but it's has a major flaw without including HDMI 2.1 for console users. More and more gamers are using their monitors as their console driver (in addition to their PC) since Monitors can provide a much better experience as compared to a TV. Other things to note: LG has some weird HDR settings that mostly don't get used by anyone who owns a LG monitor. The HDR settings are a little washed out and over saturated, the FPS1 picture display setting tends to be my go-to setting on LG monitors since it seems to be less saturated and actually looks like HDR. Significant IPS glowing can be seen easily with the HDR settings turned on. Just don't use HDR on LG monitors, there's other settings that look better and are still more responsive. The selector Nub under the monitor (power and setting control) can be slow to react which may cause user frustration and annoyance due to the lag.

I bought this monitor 2 1/2 years ago it was just out. Now it has a green/red vertical line right down the middle. I paid 899+ tax. I'm pis.sed no more lg for me.

Terrible monitor in glad its not for sale anymore.
