Great display for gamers & content creators
|Posted .Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5This is a great monitor for gamers who are also content creators due to its 4K res, high 144hz refresh rate, DCI-P3 gamut coverage and brightness. Sure, it has the downfalls of IPS but it’s still very good. For the price, its not the best value but it is a very nice display and you’ll be happy with it (unless you buy it for HDR due to the eight dimming zones). Also, you’ll need an RTX 2000 series card or newer or an AMD GPU from 2019 onwards, except the Radeon 7. I have a Vega 56, so I’m stuck at 4K 120hz.

4K, 144Hz, 5 Stars!
|Posted .Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.Features
Quality4 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5This monitor is the best investment I've made for myself during COVID. I'm currently driving it with an FE 3080. Coming from a 1080p panel, the 1440p monitor I tried just did not "wow" me the way this one did. I mainly game on PC, so I don't really need HDMI 2.1. The RGB lights, while not some revolutionary feature, is definitely nice to have and creates a great ambiance. The OSD controls are phenomenal - tactile and easy to use. The monitor is sharp, bright, and my unit has a relatively minimal amount of IPS glow. At $660 open-box with basically no clear issues, this was an absolute steal.

4k 160hz!
|Posted .Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5This is worth if if you’re a pc gamer. It lacks HDMI 2.1 but it doesn’t really matter for me cause i only game on pc. Currently paired with a RTX 3090 and this monitor is amazing! The new firmware will make it OC to 160hz! Picture is also amazing! Upgraded from a Samsung odyssey g7 and have no regrets! If it’s in stock GRAB IT! cause it sells out really fast. The RGB is also a nice touch if you’re into that kind of stuff. 4k gaming is just on whole different level and wont be going back to 1440p or 1080p. Overall its a great monitor and LG knocked this out the park! Ive had this monitor for about 3 days and have no problems with it. Hopefully it stays that way.

Best 4K Gaming Monitor in need of Quality Control
|Posted .Owned for 2 months when reviewed.Features
Quality2 out of 5Value3 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Pros: - 4K 160Hz (OC Settings). - Great colors and very bright. - Nice monitor stand w/plenty height. - Easy to use menu. - Gsync/Freesync compatible. - Best overall price/features/colors for a 4K gaming monitor. Cons: - Terrible corner bleeding from all 4 corners (noticeable in darker scenes; pic provided). - Limited availability due to Covid so you get what you can find type of situation. (WILL claim warranty for bleeding once stock catches up). - USB 2.0 for a late 2020 model monitor is ridiculous.

Q: QuestionSo is this a good monitor for ps4/ps5
Asked by Mike.
- A:Answer Not really, no. Most reviewers are clear that this is more of a PC-focused monitor, especially due to the lack of HDMI 2.1 for 4k. For PS5, it will do 1080p@120hz. For Xbox Series X, it'll do 1440p@120hz. However, without HDMI 2.1, you will not be able to do 4k@120hz. 4K@60hz is the best you can do, due to the monitor having only HDMI 2.0.

Q: Questioni noticed one of your answers stated the monitor supports 144hz at 1440p over hdmi through free sync. I just ordered this monitor and the description is saying Gsync, so which is it? I have and Nvidia card I hope I didn’t just buy an amd monitor.
Asked by Maynard.
- A:Answer It is a Gsync approved monitor. It uses AMD freesync that has been verified to work properly by Nvidia. You will be able to enable gsync via Nvidia Control Panel.

Q: QuestionWhen I turn on G-sync my monitor flickers semi constantly, this only started to happen when I got my 3080. I am not sure if a 3080 issue or monitor issue.
Asked by DrDrew.
- A:Answer Things I would try: - reseat DP or HDMI 2.1 cable both on monitor and to back of PC - make sure graphics driver is latest for nvidia 3080 - make sure monitor firmware is latest , can be updated via OnScreen Control (can dl from LG site) I have a 2080ti and have had no issues with mine flickering when gsync is enabled, so hard to tell if its the monitor or card without more testing. I will say this though - the first 27gn950 I bought had screen flickering down the middle, returned it and bought another one, and 2nd one did not have this issue.

Q: QuestionWhen is the anticipated release date?
Asked by Lawrence.
- A:Answer Amazon.Ca has it listed to release on August 24 and B&H has it listed to come out Sept. 2, so I would assume somewhere between those two dates.

Q: QuestionSo what would be a good monitor for ps4/ps5
Asked by Mike.

Q: QuestionWill my Nvidia RTX 3070 be enough to run on this monitor ?
Asked by RayRod388.
- A:Answer It depends on your standards and what you consider "works". I have this monitor paired with an RTX 3090 and I get great frame rates. In your case, the RTX 3070 is about equal to the RTX-20080Ti which was my previous GPU. Long answer longer... it depends on the types of games you play. 1) Do you play the latest and greatest AAA titles like Cyberpunk 2077 and Assassins' Creed Valhalla? If so you will struggle to push a stable 60FPS without dialing down some settings to medium. 2) Do you play older titles like Destiny 2 or Overwatch? If so, you can easily drive 75-100 FPS with an RTX 3070 The RTX 3070 is better suited for 1440P. However, I have owned multiple gaming monitors including the HP Omen 27i which has the same IPS panel as the greatest of all time LG 27inch 1440P gaming monitor that EVERYONE raves about, and 240HZ 1080P IPS monitors among many others. I will say out of every gaming monitor I have used or seen, THIS LG 27 4k IPS monitor is the absolute best, most gorgeous, and responsive monitor I have ever used. The most striking thing is how small the bezels are. They are so small, you cannot even really see them. It creates a window effect that is truly hard to describe. That and the color and brightness are the BEST on any monitor I have ever seen. Actually looking at the screen is stunning, it is better than every other monitor in my opinion. Fair warning here. DO NOT use this 4k monitor then go back to 1440P. That is exactly what I tried to do and wow was it bad. It is like eating a filet mignon steak and when you get half way done eating it you are handed a McDonalds cheeseburger. Once you go with this 4K monitor, it is very hard to go back to 1440P. It is not so much the insanely sharp resolution, it is the colors and brightness and HDR and vibrant display. No one really makes a premium 27inch 1440P gaming monitor with 400+ nits brightness and HDR. Using my old HP 27i Omen IPS 1440P monitor side by side with this, it is not even a comparison. This 4k monitor mops the floor.
