Great , huge washing machine
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this top loading machine to replace a 13 year old front loader. It holds many more clothes than my older front loader, and seems to do a very good job washing clothes. There are lots of cycles to choose from, and you can pause it and add more clothes if you forget a few things. It holds my queen size comforter. Clothes do not come out wrinkled any more than in any machine, just shake them out before you put them in the dryer. A few people have had trouble with unbalanced loads, make sure it is exactly level when it is installed, as we did this and have had no problems at all. The man who sold me the machine said the most common reason for people retuning the machine was that they could not reach the bottom of the tub. I am 5'6" and have long arms and I can easily reach the bottom, but try it out before you buy it to make sure.

Large and Quiet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had been in need of a new washer and after much research decided on this LG. The capacity is wonderful will easily hold my king size comforter and it takes less loads to do the same amount of clothing. It is also amazingly quiet you almost have to stand next to it to hear it. Uses way less water than the old unit I had the only complaint I have is the measurements are not accurate this is about an inch taller than stated on bestbuy.com so I will have to raise the shelf that is there other than that this machine is great. would like it to be cheaper but that is just because I always try to get more for the price.

So Happy!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very skeptical initially due to less than favorable and negative reviews, but after careful research, I'm glad we chose this washer anyway. If you read the installation and instruction book and follow the directions as stated, you should have no problems. I think some of the problems experienced in other reviews were because the washer was not installed or used properly. I have been able to wash pillows, queen size comforters, and large loads of towels and jeans with no problem. A load does take about an hour to complete. If the load I'm washing is not heavily soiled, I select the quick wash cycle and it's done in about 25 minutes. When purchasing this machine, you do have to purchase new drain hoses as they are not included and the delivery men will not install using your old ones. I recommend the stainless steel ones. Overall, I am very happy with this machine!

Great Washer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just purchased this washer and have loved it so far. The speed wash setting is great and with the same style LG dryer I can do a normal load of laundry from start to finish in just over an hour. This is our first washer we've ever had to research and buy ourselves, and we're very happy with it.

Good Washer So Far
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this washer a couple weeks ago for our new house and have done 20+ loads. Delivery and set up in our home by Best Buy was a breeze. Have been happy with performance so far. Clothes come out clean and fresh. No issues with underfilling or detergent on clothes as reported in some reviews for this or other machines. Some reviewers make fun of song at end of wash but it's nice to have a longer alert so you hear it. Washer is louder than our last one - fine in our basement, but wouldn't want it next to living space. Clothes are slightly more wrinkly but worth it to have them come out less wet. Normal wash cycle is 57 min. but there is an express wash that's around 40. Seems to be a good value on sale @ Best Buy.

Super washing machine!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Received this washer and dryer combo a few days ago... been running loads non-stop! Very happy with the results. No unbalanced issues as I've seen in previous reviews. Delivery crew were very professional, worked quickly, gave me a tutoring session and cleaned up after themselves.

Best waher for the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Found this waher for my son and now he needs to by the dryer, because this washer holds so much clothes he has to dry his items in 2 batches. I have the front loader wish I would of bought the top loader. Also he likes the amount of water he saves on each load cause were he lives the water is priced high. The washer is also quite

Excellent State of the Art Washing Machine
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This washing machine was an excellent purchase. The capacity of this machine is very large. It has a direct drive motor that is very quiet. Our new dryer does not have to work so hard to dry the clothes they come out of this machine simply damp.

Nice and big for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife and I were looking to buy a new washer and we found this great deal. It is really a large capacity, it has a lot of features, energy efficient. It does let you know when it is done washing with a nice melody instead the usual noise. It was a great deal.

Very nice washer.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This washer replaced another that kept breaking and was very noisy. Our washer and dryer are on our first floor and this washer is so quiet it allows us to watch TV without turning up the sound. It does a nice job and has plenty of features.

Not recommended, can't do large loads
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought the washing machine due to capacity and features - as sold to us by the Best Buy sales rep and the website ratings. We have owned the washing machine for almost 3 months now. Loads are consistently going out of balance, even though the machine has a "true-balance" feature. We called Best Buy to ask for assistence. Due to us not having a Best Buy warranty, we were told we had to deal with the manufacture #LG#. LG sent out a tech. The tech did a diagnostic test and said it was fine, then proceeded to tell us "they don't make them like they used to". The machine has ruined several shirts and a pair of jeans. Additionally, he said that we could only wash 3 towels at a time, maximum, with no other clothes. This is supposed to be an energy star, ultra-large capacity, high efficiency machine. Lastly, the LG tech said we needed a "tub" under the machine, as it needs to be on concrete or "stabilized"; it currently is on a level tile floor #the machine is supposed to have a built in anti-vibration system#. Worst machine or appliance we have ever bought and even though it is a few months old, complaints to Best Buy are doing nothing - they told us to keep complaining to LG until we get any satisfaction.

great if it would work
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picked out this washer as a replacement for a samsung that failed us horribly after 6 months and flooded our home, even after gs repairs, hoping that a change of brand would bring us better luck, which of course, is never the case. While we found ourselves happy with its cleaning abilities, efficiency and the fact that it did hold our queen size, albeit, lightweight, comforter. unlike other reviewers, didn't find a problem with uneven loads (which will happen if something overloaded or an odd-bulky item -we found it happened with a bath rug or something when it did). In just a few short months of ownership, no overloading and proper cleaning/maintenance done to the machine, a loud grinding noise emanated through the home. The "10 year waranteed!!" direct drive motor failed. Calling gs to have them come check out the repair (we thankfully opted to purchase the extended protection plan again after the failure of the samsung), they confirmed this was the case. After 2 very long weeks, our machine was repaired and running smoothly. Now a week ago, a few months after this repair, the agitator blows off. As gs no longer services our area, an outside contractor popped in to confirm that yet again, as a failure of the direct drive motor, the inside would need yet another replacement, unsure of whether it was poor installation of the last tech, or another bad motor, we're waiting it out again for a repair.... my best suggestion, stay away from this one.

Hate this washer!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this washer because of the large load capacity and "auto-balance feature" I have been very disappointed from day one. When turning on the machine and seeing that the time remaining on a load of laundry would now take 53 minutes instead of the 15-20 minutes my 20 year old Maytag machine would take to wash a load of laundry. Then every load I wash gets out of balance, so much for the "auto balance". The machine just continues to add water and turns back and forth to "Balance the Clothes". So, not only does the machine stop when it is off balance now the clothes are soaking wet with water from the machine trying to balance itself. I then choose the "Spin Only" cycle to try to remove the water so I can finally get them into the dryer, only to discover that it still adds water in an effort to balance the load. After hours trying to redistribute the clothes and spin the water out, I usually end up putting soaked clothes into the dryer!!! I hate this machine, I wish I had never bought it....

Problems with balancing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, let me say that I love, love, love the size of this washer. You can fit an entire bedspread in and still have room left over. What annoys me to no end is that it takes double the time to wash as it says it does. The problem is that it gets unbalanced -- at about every load and trys to correct itself by re-balancing. I spoke with a man at LG who said "If I would have read the owners manual, I would have known that I can not wash jeans and towels in the same load". I've seen it be down to 27 minutes, then it jumps back up to 35 minutes. And I've seen it spin at 1 minute for 10 minutes until I stopped it myself. LG says there is nothing wrong with the machine -- just open the lid and re-arrange the clothes. Great, just what I want to do is sit and watch the washer so that when it starts acting up, I can re-adjust the clothes. I'm waiting on a call from Best Buy. I'd like to start by changing machines, but I have a feeling, it's just how this machine works.

Large tub but no coats or rugs allowed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I searched the reviews for a washer to replace my front loader that I loved but didn't last 8 yrs. this LG top loader got really good reviews and I had it delivered. The salesman did tell me you couldn't put plastic in it-figured I couldn't wash shower curtains. No- you cannot wash anything water resistant incl winter coats (I live in Michigan), rugs with rubber backing, mattress pads, sleeping bags (the tub is extra large). So i spent $647 for a washer that only washes reg clothes and then you cannot do a small load. Two shirts? Nope, too light a load. The day is was delivered I did a load-ok worked. Next load, error code E6, clutch error -CALL FOR SERVICE. Just got it delivered!! Called LG and the lady told me to check for a coin under the agitator preventing it from turning. I was washing towels. Took out the towels, turned the agitator , put the soaking wet towels back in and it started back up. Do I trust it? No

A word of caution about the drainage hose
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My washing machine was delivered and installed yesterday, and to my horror during it's initial cycle, water started GUSHING out of the drainage hose! Thankfully, I was standing right next to the machine when it happened and was able to abort the cycle before any significant water damage was done. Upon closer look, I notice several small holes in the drainage hose itself!! I would caution anybody purchasing this machine to thoroughly examine the hose before letting the delivery person leave, and possibly make them wait until you've tested it first. Wish I could comment on the machine itself. I'll have to wait several more days to receive my new machine, and hopefully the first machine was just a "freak" incident. However, I must say that the drainage hose is made of a flimsy cheap plastic compared to my old machine's very heavy duty rubber hose, and I really hope it won't be a big problem in the future.

bring back the old technology!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Each load takes a ridiculous amount of time. If you rinse twice and/or use fabric softener, a load takes over an hour! Yes the clothes are clean but no cleaner than in my old Kenmore with dials. According to several repair experts, these machines with all the high tech have a MUCH shorter useful life than the older models with the dials. Remember when a washing machine lasted 20 years? NOT these machines. And they are so sensitive, a set of sheets will cause an unbalanced load at least once per cycle; usually more than once!

awful washer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.this thing is awful,, can't soak your whites over night,, only 30 mins,so I have to soak overnight in a bucket,, Like my Gramma used to, 50 years ago. Who ever came up with all these improvements should have at least talked with someone that use's a washer,, they do not,, I'm sure. The whites are not clean so you know the colors and darks are not clean. Uses just enough water to cover the clothes, no more. and you cannot add any,, the worse,, is it leaves just a little water in the tub,, and after awhile it stinks,, so you have to go buy ANOTHER product to "clean" your washer,,,omg,, wish I had done some checking before investing money in this thing,,, Also in the auto add,, the softener goes in with the soap, 2 out of 3 times. This is, in no way, Best Buys fault, all the new washers are like this. My clothes are, in no way, as clean as I want and should be getting. Best thing about this washer is that it holds a lot,, not so hot if the wash is not clean.
