Consumer Digest nailed it! Great washing machine!

The main reason I picked this washer was it was the highest rated machine under $1000 by Consumers Digest, and they were definitely correct! I had an older Samsung machine, that seemed to do a good job and lasted about 8 years, but you don't realize what a poor job an older machine does until you update. When you can clearly notice a difference in how clean your clothes are just looking at them coming out of the wash, that really tells you something! I waited a few months to write a review to make sure things were consistent and it wasn't just a fluke. Bottom line, Consumer Reports nailed it, this is a great washing machine for its cleaning number 1, it's also much quieter than our last machine and spins the clothes dryer which means less time in the dryer and significant savings on both ends, washing and drying! Hopefully I don't have to review a washing machine for many years, so far, this one is well worth the money!

I’ve been using the LG WT7150CW for 7 months now, and it’s been flawless. From day one, I haven’t had a single issue. One of the things I appreciate most is its energy efficiency—you can tell it helps reduce consumption—and it also takes great care of clothes, even on heavy cycles.
The capacity is ideal for large loads, and the washing performance is excellent. Everything comes out clean, even with cold water. Plus, being able to control it through the LG ThinQ app is amazing. I can monitor cycles, get notifications, and even start a wash from my phone.
I highly recommend this model if you’re looking for a reliable, quiet, and modern washer. Totally worth it!

This set replaced my 10 year old ones that were still functioning perfectly. I gave them to my daughter when she bought her new home and a front loader set was not in her budget. These new ones are a lot the same but with more settings and the steam function. I have had my "new" ones for over 2 years and could not be happier with my purchase. They clean like a dream - please use the correct settings -, use a LOT less water than top loader agitator models, and have so many options! The speed wash is great when you need something in a hurry and it needs to be laundered. I did get the pedestals this time because they were on sale too. IMHO they are an expensive luxury but in my case two benefits: I am a senior with back issues so loading and unloading is a challenge that these negate and the stirage space is great. While they may not hold a large bottle of laundry detergent standing upright there are always a lot more things to store.
Sound issues: ok these are not exactly quiet. They made different sounds when washing, filling, draining and especially spinning!!! Mine are on a tile floor, on pedestal and my home is on a crawlspace. I can hear them but i am used to it and personally do not find it to be an issue. If yours vibrate too much there are antivibration pads that work great. On the ones i gave my daughter we put the pads underneath the drip pan (use one of these under your washer in case it ever leaks it will save your floors) before placing the washer ... additional benefit it keeps the washer from walking on those high spin cycles.
Ok enough .. love my washer and dryer and as an aside my old 13 year old set is still going strong with only one repair to fix a worn out gasket. May not be the cheapest initial purchase but years of service and dependability make it a great value.

Just received today with matching dryer. I was worried that the accent color might be too bright based on the manufacturer photos. It's not and looks very modern and pleasing. So far so good with a few loads ran. Machine is quiet compared to a 10 year old Samsung. The App/wifi is a nice touch but I wish you could remote in without having to set it up 1st on either machine. It does not have true 100% remote capability. Real glass doors are a premium look and feel however the control knob needs beefed up to compliment the glass and or trim. The 4.5 is plenty big. Almost thought about the 5.0 but it's not really needed unless you have a very big family. The best thing going is LG extends the warranty an additional year if you register through the app. That gives you two years coverage! Was one of the factors when deciding to buy. Best Buy did great on the install and haul off of my old units. Pleased with my purchase.

It's only been a few weeks since this new washer was installed, but so far this is an excellent product. The capacity is much greater than the unit it replaced (same dimensions), the features are terrific, its relatively quiet (much better than the unit it replaced) and efficient. The installation went smoothly, thanks to the Best Buy installers.

Awesome washine machine! This one is super high-tech. Every feature this machine has is useful. I greatly appreciate the Turbo Wash feature that saves time. The sanitizing steam cycle is also useful. The LG ThinQ app is also very useful. From important notifications to mashine maintenance, it's a must-have. Sometimes I forget to close the door. The app notifies me so I don't regret it later. My next purchase will their dryer.

First I want to say my rating would actually be 4.5 if that was an option, simply because I was hoping for a "My Cycle" setting because I do 99% of my laundry on the same setting.
My husband has brand loyalty and we had Samsung washer/dryers for the last 10 years. They worked great, but both washers had to be replaced around 5 years. I put my foot down since I do the laundry and said we were getting a different brand. I did a bunch of research and ultimately it came down to the LG set and the GE Profile set. After looking at a bunch of reviews I decided the soap dispensing option seemed gimmicky with the GE and while the vent option seemed great, the GE matching dryer is what made me decide to go with this LG set. The GE dryer had too many negative reviews.
I've only had the set for 3 days, but I was a week behind on laundry for a family of 4 so I've done 10 loads in the 3 days. So far, and hopefully it will remain this way, everything has been great. I use the same setting for everything, except bedding. Normal is my go to. The LG takes about 30 min less time than my Samsung. My Samsung on the same settings took 75 min for a load of laundry, while the LG takes about 40 and they come out just as clean. I need to experiment with the settings more once I'm caught up on laundry, but the normal mode works great (I adjust the settings a bit with temp, spin, soil level). It's super quiet, so for the people saying it's really loud and knocks stuff off their walls... I just have to say - learn how to level a washer. My Samsung would sound like an airplane when it was spinning fast, this one you can hear in the next room, but my laundry room is on a different level and I can't hear it at all. For the people saying there isn't enough water because their 10+ year old washer filled it up... yeah the older models waste water. These ones put the actual amount of water you need in the tub, your clothes are still getting clean.
Ok, now for the dryer. The dryer was the deciding factor for me with the GE and LG sets. The GE had too many different negative issues, while the LG seemed like people were complaining about the same things. First, I want to address the people saying their clothes are coming out wet when the dryer says they're done. Don't use the sensor dry on any dryer. It doesn't work. I've had the option for so long on different models and all it does is get your clothes hot and it thinks it's dry. Time dry setting is all you need. I set my temp to medium and because I do larger loads and a lower heat, it does take about 75 min to dry, but that's what my Samsung did too so that's ok with me. I might fiddle with the sensor dry to see if it actually works on this one, but because I'm behind I don't have time right now to try that out. For the other people complaining that lint is flying in their face, I haven't had this happen at all. The lint trap is actually really nice, the lint comes out super easy. My Samsung had one that had to fold open and we had to replace it a few times because it would crack/break from simply opening it to remove the lint.
After reading all the reviews I'm sure there are some defective dryers causing the issues, but I think a lot of them are user error. It also seems like the older generation is comparing apples to oranges and wants their new dryers to act like their 15 year old ones. If that's the case and you want an old school washer/dryer with an agitator that uses way too much water, then shop for that and don't buy something like this just to complain that it's different.
I'll update if things go awry.

I purchased this to replace an 18-year old LG front loader that I loved. I don't think the new one works as well. With the reduced water usage, I have found that I have to use liquid detergent or the clothes don't get clean, especially with cool water - the powder detergent isn't even dissolved all the way and the clothes don't smell clean. Liquid detergent works fine. The detergent dispenser is annoying. If you are using liquid soap and want to do a pre-wash, you have to put the pre-wash detergent directly into the drum. If you try to put it in the dispenser, there's a hole and it runs underneath before you can close it and doesn't get used. If you want to use powder, you have to remove the plastic container for the main wash cycle or half of the powder will remain in the container. Also, it leaves small pools of water in the dispensers, so I have to leave it open to let it dry so it doesn't mold.
It doesn't have a hand wash cycle like my old washer, and the delicate cycle is definitely harder on my clothes than my old one, even in a mesh bag, so I have to manually wash certain items that I used to run through the washer. If you have pets that leave fur on your clothing or people with long hair, expect to find clots of hair on whatever you wash. This washer does not deal with hair or fur well. My old one wasn't great in that area, this one is definitely worse. If you're dealing with animals (I have older cats) that are incontinent, you better presoak anything you used for cleanup before dumpingit in the washer or it will still smell. I haven't tried the steam yet, maybe that will help. While this washer has many different programs, the instructions say you need to wash any large items on the bedding cycle. So what about large, delicate items like lace tablecloths? They need to be done on delicate. Not sure how I'm going to handle that one. I like the large selection of temperatures and spin speeds - especially the ability to not spin at all. And the spin cycle is amazingly effective. I haven't used anything above medium and even my jeans are drier than high spin in my old machine. The entire machine is definitely quieter than my old one. I can barely hear it when I'm on the first floor (it's in the basement). I also like that you can do up to 3 rinses. I don't like the wifi function. I have no intention of using it, and wish there was a simple way to disable it, so I unplug the washer every time I'm done using it. I don't like having the controls on the front - I use the top for folding and sorting laundry, and have inadvertently turned it off while it was running and inadvertently enabled / disabled the control lock just by standing or leaning too close. The selection panel on the right is really hard to read. My basement doesn't have bright lighting and my sight is not great, and the lights that glow to indicate what has been selected overshadow the writing, making it difficult to read. The words need to be back lit or written in a contrasting color or something. The drum on this is larger, deeper and lower than the one on my old washer. Not a problem for me as I'm short, could be an issue for someone with back or knee problems. At the same time, it's several inches taller than my prior washer due to the controls in front. If I had added a pedestal it would be shoulder height. Washing times are comparable to my prior machine. The longest cycle so far was 90 minutes for some very dirty bedding, and it came out really clean except for the hair clots that I had to pick off. The time estimate that appears on the display is accurate, so I can set a timer and come back when it's done. I like that the signal to notify you that the washer is done can be turned on or off. Overall I'm happy with the washer, but am not impressed with this new high efficiency technology.

This is my first time buying a washing machine. I read a lot of reviews and went through videos on youtube. LG came out on top in-terms of economical and techy machines. It has been a month since I have been using it. Best buy installation and haul away service was amazing, efficient and did not take much time(though I do feel I could have done it myself but it was my first time). They balanced the washer and set it up as requested. Machine is linked to the LG ThinkQ app, cool way to track when the machine is due for a cleaning cycle. Make sure the delivery bolts around the drum(4) are removed before you use the machine, if they are left then the drum will make a loud noise and may even break. It's pretty quiet, does not vibrate a lot as long as it is leveled. Runs fine for regular loads, but heavy loads like beddings and comforters cause issuses if placed together, when the machine hits the rinse and spin cycle for beddings it fails to spin due to unbalanced load(basically the sheets and comforters intertwine), you have to be alert and check on the machine when it's time for the spin cycle as it will be stuck at the 15 or 10 mins mark until you pause and untangle the load and distribute it evenly. Besides that, I love the techy stuff with the machine and I can track things on my phone. I use both pods and liquid detergent and no issues with either, gets hard old stains, I work in a hospital, clothes are fresh and clean, all kind of stains come off. Highly recommend it, if you are willing to spend more, buy the dryer that comes with it, both the washer and dryer communicate with each other and are cheaper if you buy them together, my old dryer broke a month later and I ended up buying it's recommended twin a month later at full price :(, but love the machines. They are a beast, and if you love AI and are techy then you can look at the newer versions with touch screens that LG recently released.

I purchased this unit to replace an 11 year old LG front load washer. The old unit had provided great service, but the control board was getting unreliable. This new unit is a substantial improvement over the older unit. For the same physical footprint, it has a 30% larger capacity, is quieter, has more wash selections, and has WIFI to support built-in intelligence. I can now wash a queen comforter in this unit which I could not in the prior unit.
Only negative is it comes with a really short drain hose. Be prepared to purchase an extension.

This is our second LG front loader, which we purchased to replace the old one that died after 14 years of service. My clothes are definitely cleaner and the larger capacity is nice. There is a great range of settings (which our old one also had) and it's easy to operate. I don't understand why I would need to start my washer remotely (there is no magical feature that loads it or transfers the load to the dryer) so we have never connected it to our wifi or explored those settings. But it's paired with our original gas dryer we purchased in 1994, so we're clearly not hung up on new technology. :) We've had it for over a year and still love it. Cleaning the drain was easy. Highly recommend!

This washer replaced an older LG front loader that died. It’s quieter than the older washer, especially while draining. It doesn’t have the usual buzzing drain pump that the older washer had. I also like the larger capacity: 4.5 cubic feet vs. 3.7 cubic feet of the older unit. And the interface with the ThinQ app is a nice bonus.
