Customers commend the 4.9 Cu. Ft. 12-Cycle High-Efficiency Top-Loading Washer for its large capacity, excellent cleaning performance, quiet operation, and ease of use. Many appreciate the effective spin cycle, resulting in faster drying times. However, some users find the deep wash tub challenging to access, particularly those of shorter stature. The convenient features are also frequently praised.

My previous Whirlpool washer broke after 11 years. After much research I decided to go with the new wave and buy an HE washer. This washer is too good to be true. Before I begin on the product, I have to state that the delivery team was wonderful. They called, brought in the machine without damaging anything, installed the machine, and gave me a quick tutorial on how to use it. First, I read the manual as suggested by another reviewer. It makes a difference as there are SO many bells and whistles to this machine. You should load the washer by placing the clothes in a doughnut shaped circle; never covering the middle. Then select your cycle 1 and cycle 2. Add liquids and press start. Then the machine will spin one time without water to evaluate the weight of the clothes. The machine will lock and begin to wash. If you need to add additional clothes, do not worry because their is a feature "add garments" which will light up. Once this lights up, the machine will unlock and you can add clothes. Remember to select start button again to take off pause mode. I am amazed at how very little water is used. For those who want more, there is a feature to add more water to rinse cycle. I washed my third load which was light and I got a "de" error code. I looked it up and discovered that my load was too light. First, I repositioned my load and started again (I tried this first because I knew that I had clothes covering the middle part)-it worked. Another great feature, this machines plays a great melody at the end of the cycle. Lastly, your clothes will dry faster as this machines really spins the water out of clothes and towels. Things to be aware of: don't pour liquid past the lines indicated in compartments and if you are shorter than 5'2", I recommend buying a step stool-my only complaint! My husband use to wash the clothes and now I do. I actually don't mind washing clothes because of this machine!

Great delivery experience, easy to hook up, work for 24 hours, then stopped. started working an hour later then stopped again.... While it lasted I loved the capacity and the features... It looks great and we were looking forward to years of clean laundry, I replaced a whirlpool that made it 12 years... but this LG lasted 24... that s right 24 hours until it stopped...LG, Life is Good ehh? Not so good when the washer locks up mid cycle with water and my Military uniform in it and the LG warranty service can't come for 4 days.... at least Best Buy said they would replace the unit with a new unit, but they can't come for another 9 days....

This is by far the best washer we have ever owned. Its extremly quiet and does a great job washing clothes. Don't let the electronics intimidate you at all, its very easy to use.
The only drawback is the depth of the tub. My wife says she is 5'1" and cannot reach the bottom of the tub without standing on a step stool. But thats the only thing we could even begin to complain about.

Amazingly Good

My large family moved up from a 3.1 cubic foot Frigidaire HE front loading washer to this 5.0 cubic foot top loader. With the old washer, it didn't matter how often the laundry was running, we could not keep up with pile of laundry waiting for its turn. The new LG machine is ridiculously generous in its capacity. I don't think we've run a load yet that hasn't lit up the 'Add More Garments' light. Granted, we moved up from a Cavalier to a Navigator, but we still couldn't be more impressed. The fit and finish are impeccable on this machine, it works great, and it is quiet as well. I have never enjoyed doing laundry, but I find myself doing loads out of the enjoyment this washer has provided.

Great product - I had the older ones

I wanted a top loader that had some style and I think I found it. This washer has performance and style and very easy to use. This washer is so deep that I can finally wash a comforter and sheets at the same time. It can be a little noisy but that's probably because my older washer did not have the hight quality performance. Overall, I like this machine and find myself watching it performing.

This is a very good washing machine. It is much different than my previous machine that I had for about 15 years. I am still getting used to all the different features and options. It cleans well and can wash huge loads. It takes about 69 minutes per load for the options that I choose. That is longer than my old Maytag but it can hold twice as many clothes. I would not recommend this product for a short person because the tub is extremely deep.

We purchased this washing machine after researching several brands. We had 2 days of laundry for a family of five (2 adults, 3 teens) backed up when the washer was delivered. 2 loads later, all caught up! The machine is simple to use. My only "eh" about it is that I am 5' 4" and sometimes reaching the bottom of the basin can be challenging for socks and small items.

Very happy with the efficiency of this machine. Small footprint in laundry room but very large washing tub! You may need a small stool to reach small items, like socks, that are at the bottom. Clothes come out extremely clean. Best Buy delivery went without a hitch. Love this machine. Highly Recommend!

Not practical

I have now had this washer for a year now and completely hate it. I did over two months of research before I purchased this washer and I should of went with my gut feeling. We have a set of front loaders in our other house which we have used for 12 years so when we moved to this second house I had to buy another washer and decided on this one. First off, you have to make sure all your clothes are perfectly stacked in the washer before turning it on. Where with my front loaders I can just stuff and go. And you will not know if they are not stacked perfectly until the last spin and then you get an error message and sometimes it restarts the whole washing process. Plus you must I mean must only wash like material, for example my daughters bedding sheets, fleece blanket, comforter. Seems easy right NO! The fleece blanket will throw the whole washer off balance. So I have to wash all our fleece blankets just in order to wash just my daughters. I completely regret purchasing these. Top loaders are not user friendly what so ever. I hope I can save at least one person from the nightmare especially a mother cause we don't have time for problems with our washer.

Nice but 1st Unit was a Dud...

I will be receiving my second unit in a few days, the first one had issues with the drain pump. After only a few loads the pump started making a loud thumping noise during the spin cycle. Will give the unit one more chance cause I really like the size of the tub and the look is this washers something special but it still lacks that pop on the operation side of things. Maybe if the washer had a true sanitize cycle or steam cycle/Allergen cycle then it would be complete. But this isn't a bad washer I really want this washer to work out for me...
