Q: Can you make it so you can add more water?
A: The reason why they made it smart because it senses the right amount of water to clean your clothes. Make sure to use HE detergent and put the right amount to your load. Also, heavy stains should always be sprayed with stain remover first and rub by hand. I'm sure there is no existing washer that could wash away heavy stains. If you want to add more water you could pause the washer and pour more water in, but that defeats the purpose of the washer being smart enough to know the right amount of water it should use. That's just my 2 cents.

It is not unusual for the unit to get phased out after a year in the market. This happens to every Electronic product that you see in stores throughout the country. Your circuit board has fuses in it that have different amperages and when you have too much current flowing through the circuit, the breaker will trip. What really leads to mildewy or musty smells are some environmental or usage conditions that can cause residue to build up in the tub. This washer has a Tub Clean cycle that is specially designed to remove this buildup using bleach or another cleaners designed specifically for cleaning washing machines. It is recommended that you run the Tub Clean cycle once a month, or more often under heavy use conditions or if odor is present...IFV
