Would have preferred that it had a display so you know the action it is doing. It's tray opening is slow which results in pressing the open button several times.

Too quirky to love.

I don't need all the streaming apps, have a smart TV /Amazon Fire cube for that. However this box is just too flaky. Sometimes it would start up with a horrible grinding noise, other times it would just freeze. On one DVD it would freeze at the same point, so I tested that DVD on another 4k DVD player and it worked fine. I returned it and got a Panasonic which is working fine so far.

The picture on the discs I've tried is fine. No better than blu ray.

Great picture

It plays movies.

l never got to use it

I will say the remote was larger than the one I have now and the setup was cleaner to use just wish it had worked the first time. So no matter how I answer the next question it really boils down to I don't know I really didn't get to try it out.

Do not buy - Horrible LG Customer Service

Opened and installed but didn’t have a 4k DVD at the time. We finally bought one and when we finally had a chance to watch a 4K dvd it turns out the machine has issues with playing the disc after 30-40 min into the movie. We have been trying to contact LG customer service to no avail. We cannot get anyone on the phone and have dealt with only automated systems and chatbots. Turns out the issue we’re having is common with this model. Don’t make our mistake, avoid this machine and go with something else. No more LG for us.

Waited too long to open after the warranty expired

I didn’t open the box until last week, 12/20, and I purchased it in 12/19. Straight out of the box the cd tray would not open all of the way and it is not useable. My fault for waiting, but I’ve never had a problem with LG products. I had to wait to open it after the one year warranty expired. I have 6 LG tvs and don’t have any problems with them, so maybe it’s just the blu ray player design.

I'd look elsewhere

At first it sounded like someone had left a phone off the hook, so we took out the disc, restarted it and insert the disc again, but it sounded even scarier so we turned it off. This player has only seen intermittent use, I'm surprised that it didn't last longer. I do not recommend this player.

Requires networking

VERY AnNOYING and I will be returning it today. I want a basic player that doesn’t DEMAND to profile me so they can sell my personal data.

Flimsy and overpriced
