This is my second LG sound bar since I’ve purchased our first one in 2011. I had previously owned the JBL 3.1 (great bang for the buck) and wanted an upgrade so we decided to purchase this. I was so excited to get home and finally plug it in... then was not so impressed after all. First off, the actual sound bar has an excellent quality sound with good clarity too! However, the subwoofer was so weak it ruined the entire setup. For a 500+ watt system it should not lack in bass at all. Yes we tried tweaking the system and bass etc... didn’t show much of a difference sadly. In my own opinion it sounded like the actual sound bar had almost as much bass as the subwoofer. Really didn’t want to return but the lack of bass ruined it for both me and my husband. Our music even sounded lame with hardly any bass. I did expect more for $1000. Sadly we will be returning this LG sound bar but if bass isn’t a big deal to you then it’s a great speaker. If you want that home theater kickin bass sound this won’t satisfy that desire sorry!

This is such a great and robust sounding soundbar. We opted to hook it up to our 70" TV in our master bedroom and it fits perfectly! I would definitely suggest adding the rear speaker package to it, although it does stand up well on its own! We had a little trouble setting it up, but quickly realized it was just a matter of re-arranging all the components we have attached to it. Great for video games, to get good immersive sound (especially in the creepy games!). We received, and very excitedly, unpacked and set up our LG SNYG soundbar. They do a great job packaging it in there! The first thing we noticed was the weight and construction of the components. We previously had a VIZIO soundbar, which felt very light and simple. The size of the soundbar, lengthwise, was just a bit longer than the base stand we have our 65 inch TV mounted onto, so it overhangs the base a fair amount, but it doesn't overhang the fireplace itself. The set up took us a little bit, as we have a few peripherals we hook up (Cable box, Xbox, Nintendo Switch), so figuring out which to run through HDMI or Optical was a little challenging. We are having trouble with getting Dolby Atmos to work, it does say we are getting Dolby Sound though. For some reason, our TV is also having trouble keeping an audio signal when switching between cable and the Xbox. Also having trouble with our TV getting 4K UHD, but this may be a cable provider problem so I will update once the cable company replaces our box tomorrow. All around, the sound is pretty impressive and the Google Assistant is very helpful. We, however, happen to have a Google Home Hub and a Google Mesh extender all within 4feet of the soundbar. So, we muted the wifi extender and just try speaking in the direction of the soundbar or the Google Home Hub. With Alexa, you can assign a different wake word, it's a shame Google does not support this as well. I also found it rather odd that the LG Thinq app didn't work with this, and a separate app had to be downloaded. The LG Speaker app sometimes can't find the soundbar, and has to be refreshed a few times. I wish it had a way to test each speaker individually. The AI Room Calibration option is a little underwhelming, honestly. But the overall sound and quality of the soundbar and subwoofer is great! We love watching movies and playing games, streaming content and playing music, and this soundbar really enriches the experience. The sleek design is really nice and the touch controls are a much appreciated change from bulky buttons. We would definitely recommend this model! It was definitely worth the wait.

I love how easy it was to set up. Matches well with my TV. The sound is amazing. It's not as big as I thought it was compared to the box it came in. I LOVE IT. I love that it works with Google Assist, make it so easy to ask questions and my kids love talking it.

The sound is amazing i love it really loud . The only thing I don't like. is for some reason it would stop working I would have to unplug and plug it back on .
But the sound is amazing only @ volume 20 is super loud and max is 40 haven't tried to max volume .
So I hate that I would have to return it because of that little problem.

A bit about me before we start - I'm a big audiophile and have a bunch of earbuds and headphones from different brands. In my basement, I just finished setting up a 5.1 home theater system. I was just looking for a soundbar that could fill my living room with audio since I have high ceilings. The other main feature I wanted was bluetooth audio so I can listen to music in the kitchen as well. I have 2 LG tv's and have personally had great luck with their products so I decided to get this sn9 after seeing the upward firing atmos speaker. I ordered it and got it in a few days and was surprised at the size of the box - They have good padding on the sides to protect the soundbar itself. Unboxing as really easy and the size is perfect for my 65" tv. The subwoofer was pretty light but it packs a punch. The range is really good too as I have the sub next to my sofa on the other size of the room and I don't have any delay. Right out of the box, it comes with an optical cable which was great since I didn't have a spare. I plugged it in and the sub auto connected with no extra set up needed. On the TV, here are some settings which are importart to change. First change the audio to optical only. Then change it to auto instead of PCM as otherwise the sound comes out to be very quiet and soft. After that, the next thing you want to change is the audio mode on the soundbar itself. You press the F button on the remote for that. By default, it's on AI Sound mode which changes the sounds based on what's playing. I personally don't like change so I put it to music mode. This was the best balance of sound and bass for everyday tv viewing. Movie mode is how you get the upward speakers firing and I only recommend it mainly when watching a movie as regular TV isn't set up correctly for that type of sound. Simply put it is AMAZING the virtual audio firing up. I really liked watching action movies on it. Attached is a photo of the settings you should have for the best experience. Connecting it to google home app was a bit difficult as my wifi was acting up but once it connected to wifi once, it started auto updating and said B-Updating or W-Updating. It took about 10 minutes and during that time you cannot use the device. I assume these are updates to the AI sound mode but again I don't use it. Overall I have to say the sound and value of this device is great and it keeps my tv stand clean of wires instead of hooking up an amp and speakers I just have the soundbar.

Absolutely love the Google assistant enabled Sound bar and the wireless subwoofer sounds great! The sound bar is quite large in size and it comes with attachment gear to the bottom of the TV ( I haven't tried fixing it). WIFI, Bluetooth, Optical cable, can play audio from phone through LG mobile app. The large sound bar fills the entire living room with the volume. The sound effect and quality is awesome!

So, After researching for a while, we bought this setup, including the rear speakers for a Christmas screening of the new Wonder Woman movie with our newer LG TV. Out of the box, the rear speakers synced and worked great, wifi set up was great, center channel was great, bluetooth works fine... BUT THE SUB ENDLESSLY BLINKS AND DIDN'T CONNECT! We tried for hours, watched videos, read reset articles with the mute button and sync tips... nothing. SO, we are taking the gigantic box back tomorrow and returning it for a new one and we're going to give it another shot. If it works my review may go up, but what a Christmas let down and day after Christmas return inconvenience.

I’m a bit of a Luddite and had not owned a TV for 15 years. I bought this sound bar at the same time as my LG OLED. It was easy to hook up. Never had a problem. I see some comments about the bass not being good, maybe I’m easy to please because it sounds good to me. Then again, watching TV isn’t my life. I connect it to my phone and listen to music as well. Very satisfied.

LG knows that they have a problem with the subwoofer not connecting to the soundbar - just google it. They cannot fix and will not really try. They have you send it in for service, replace a part, and there is no improvement whatsoever. Whatever you do, don't buy this paper weight. It is now sitting in storage because I cannot even sell it. Absolute garbage.

Do not buy. Unit worked fine for several months. But something happened, perhaps a firmware update. Now, the bar tries (and fails) to update and the subwoofer needs to be powered down/up to connect to the bar.
LG will not extend the warranty to fix the defect.
