Love the switch
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Switching over from a JBL sound bar the difference in sound quality is clear, the bass isn’t as powerful but that’s a small sacrifice. Finally not having to use the soundbar remote to change the volume is so much better.

LG soundbar
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sound bar will rattle your windows if you let it. I’m still not sure whether or not the center channel is to my satisfaction. Hard to hear voices sometimes when in Dolby Atmos mode. If you go to standard and then clear voice it’s great but you lose the sound effects. I am still tinkering with it and may add surround speakers to see if it makes a big difference.

Works great but blocks signal
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This sound bar works great. My only beef is the bar itself is too high and blocks the signal from the remote to turn on the LG TV behind it ... so the remote has to be held over your head. Other sound bar brands have an IR pass-through feature where the IR signal goes in the front of the sound bar and out the back into the TV. To eliminate this minor inconvenience I'll have to build an attractive riser block under the TV to raise its up so the remote signal hits the TV when you hold the remote at normal level.

Works Great - Except for ChromeCast
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this unit to replace a top of the line $1500 Sony soundbar that had some kick. Unfortunately, the Sony was so finicky that I couldn't take it anymore. I just wanted to turn my tv on and have the sound work. This LG soundbar delivers. Its best attribute is that you don't notice it. But half way through "The Heights" I started to listen more critically and I realized the LG soundbar has a broad soundfield that makes the sound natural and surrounding. The bass/low end is similarly adequate. There are not a lot of adjustments which made my wife happy. It won't blow you away, but it does what a soundbar should - it let's you watch movies in a way that adds to the theater experience without detracting from it. The bad: Chromecast is non-functional. It stops after less than a minute. This has been reported on the web without a resolution. For me this meant installing a Chromecast on the TV and sending sound back to the soundbar through the optical cable (HDMI pass through support from my high-end Sony TV is hit and usually miss - did I mention that I'm done with Sony overpriced and undersupported electronics?)

Not compatible with all televisions
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sounded great in the store but couldn’t get it to work on my 85” television that I bought the same day. The person that sold me both said they would sound great together. Come to find out that they were not compatible together. Make sure to ask geek squad before spending this much money if they will work together

Phenomenal sound and great looks
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sound bar by far exceeded my expectations for both the sound and looks. I previously owned a vizio 5.1.2 Dolby atmos soundbar and was impressed by the sound but the lg unit takes the whole experience even further. The ai sound calibration makes a noticeable difference between it being on and off for the better. I have it paired with the optional rear speakers and would recommend them as well.

Great sound
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fantastic sound. The bass is great. I will say that I have to change the volume quite frequently depending on the scene. There are several different hookup options (HDMI, Optical, HDMI Arc, BT, etc.). The one drawback is it only has one HDMI hookup. It may be difficult to use for those who do not possess fundamental audio skills.

Blows Samsung Out of the Water
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was going back and forth between this and the Samsung equivalent but decided on the LG since i paired it with a C9 OLED and assumed integration would be seamless (which it was) and I can control everything through the LG remote. Overall I read online that people said Samsung over LG but i also think its marketing on Samsung's part. My initial impression was Wow. We have a 9.2 in our media room and i set expectations low given this is a soundbar and was pleasantly surprised. Havent tested ATMOS yet but in our bedroom we dont have vaulted ceilings and i can hear the sound quality resonate off the walls which makes it sound more immersive. If you are using this in room with ceilings greater than 12 feet you may be disappointed (YMMV). Overall highly recommend over Samsung.

Nice sound bar
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sound bar sounds amazing. There is one problem that keeps happening. The sound will drop off randomly. There is no rhyme or reason for this happening. I have it connected to our TV with an HDMI cable. I would definitely by this again. Quality product. We got this on sale during the holidays.

Good Sounding Bar
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good sounding sound bar. Setup is sort of a crap shoot due to the LG app. I got the sound bar on sale and would recommend at that price point.

Sounds Good, But Far From Perfect
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While I love listening to music, I do not have a good enough ear to say how this sound bar is versus others. I have had difficulties with getting this sound bar to stay connected and it seems finicky on whether or not it will connect to my devices. I have never been able to get the "Hey Google" feature set up. After several attempts I have given up. However, when the sound bar is connected to the right device, the sound bar is surprisingly loud and sounds good. I will buy a receiver the next time I decide to make an audio upgrade.

Good Soundbar when bought on sale!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good for average size living room! Bass setting vs Movie setting seemed to make no difference to my ears. Overall a good soundbar with little maintenance and easy setup!

adds bass to the TV sound
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not an audio afficianado, but the subwoofer definitely boosts the bass sound. It's easy to hook up. I skipped using the Google Assistant (it's not actually necessary to login or setup whatever the google voice asks).

Good sound, OK tech, limited support
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have always used old school Hi-Fi setups, which I still love, but my wife can't stand due to wires and size. Bought this at same time as a new LG TV. Overall the sound quality has been good, with solid surround quality and good clarity at volume. A couple annoyances are that they send wall mount brackets, but not screws for placing them in the wall. I tried to use support to find the size of screws recommended and got an automated, useless answer. Other issue is that the "chromecast" function only works for audio. I was hoping the chromecast built in meant it would fully function as a chromecast to stream HBONow (since smart TVs inexplicably don't include some options!), but no dice. It has worked well with a new mesh router system for the google cast of audio from Spotify, though.

Superior Sound Quality
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ive owned and listened to many soundbar setups and the sound quality combined with the subwoofer is by far superior to any other soundbar I've heard. It literally sounds like there are speakers around my living room when watching a movie and the words are crisp from people speaking. I have no issues with this and new guest that I have over always complement it. This soundbar paired with my 65 inch is better than the movie theater.

Don’t listen to negative reviews
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing is so customizable that it is good for all ears! Room rattles during a movie. Voices are crystal clear. Choice between Bose, Sonos....LG won this contest for me.
