I've never been much of a soundbar person; I firmly believe in shelling out the extra money for a proper surround sound system. But once I became a father and moved my entertainment system to our basement to make more space in the living room, the audio quality from our 11 year old TV was less the ideal.
Very uneven sound levels that require constant monitoring of the volume. We decided to try out a soundbar in the hopes that it would have a "night time" mode that would actually work so we don't disturb our kid when they're napping.
And thankfully this soundbar excels in that area. The Clear Voice + Nighttime setting makes this a fantastic choice for when I'm stuck in a contact nap with our kid but want to watch something that I can still hear without disturbing them.
And venturing into other sound options like Cinema Sound is impressive and has a very 3D-like sound quality to it that really envelops you in the action, even though it does sound very artificial compared to my true Atmos system in the basement.
My only complaint with this item is that the rear speakers can sometimes be too overpowering, even with Clear Voice + Nighttime and having their EQ settings put as low as it can. Unplugging the rear speaker receiver is simple enough when this is an issue, but having an option to turn them off in the Soundbar's app or remote would be appreciated.
Overall, though, this is a very solid soundbar system that is lightyears more impressive than the Samsung soundbar I bought for my grandparents in 2015 which has very poor volume control.

3.5 to 4 stars.
This unit replaces a Vizio unit I had for about 8 or 9 years. The Vizio began go on the fritz a bit turning itself on and off again randomly with no reason. This past Saturday it finally had a fit and kept going on and off and on and off repeatedly. Not sure what is up with that but my patience level was done so I ordered this LG unit.
First off, the packaging….my word, someone from NASA must have engineered the packaging. Definitely not getting damaged in shipping even if shipped it to Mars. The look and feel of the soundbar and the surround components is nice, has a high-end attractive look. Matte black but not finger-printy. The rear part of the system obviously will not see very much but the soundbar itself looks great.
Set-up was super easy. The subwoofer and surround units paired right up with the soundbar and ready to go right out the box. Super surprised at the ease of initial set-up and honestly does a fine job straight out the box. Of course I wanted to mess with every little setting. Easiest way to do so is get the LG Soundbar App and connect to the unit via bluetooth on your phone. From the app can adjust settings and even volume for the individual speakers. That being said, the adjustments are somewhat basic but adequate. The app is okay, because have to connect via bluetooth you cannot change settings from the app on the fly while playing sound. But, you can adjust settings with the remote and the LCD display while sound is playing — note, there is no instructions on how to do any of this, have to poke around and figure it out yourself.
Currently have the rear speakers on a table across the room. Distance between the soundbar / TV and the rear set-up is maybe 20 feet. My couch is about 8 feet from the TV. Am thinking will mount the two rear speakers a bit higher on the wall see if that makes a difference in the overall sound. And, the overall sound is generally great. My only complaint is the Bass, or where the Bass at?
Compared to the older Vizio unit this has replaced….the Vizio had a Great amount of Bass to annoy the neighbors with but lacked the dimensional surround and lacked full spectrum Dolby stuff (I am not very technical with DTS jargon). Yes, it was a surround system but even straight out the box this LG unit has that overhead element of surround with the two up-firing speakers which is pretty cool. Now if I could attach the Vizio subwoofer to the LG system somehow….. :-)
The Bass output I would say is on the low adequate to upper ‘Meh’ range. If you want a floor shaking subwoofer, look for a different product. My neighbors will be happy this unit has less bass than my previous unit—haha. It does the job without being too much. I watched the beach battle scene from Rouge One this afternoon and while I was not blown away, the output was fine. That being said, if you are an audiophile — nope, this unit is not gonna cut it. However, as a general use soundbar with very good surround this is a great unit at a great price. Will this remain as my main living room system? Most definitely not, but…currently I live in an apartment setting so this fits my current needs and does a solid job. Great for apartment living, would be an excellent choice for a rec-room or video game room for the kids in your house as the Bass clearly will not be a problem.

This is a solid product, and with the price, it’s cheaper than other systems, but not quite as robust. It works fine in our living room (15’ x 15’), and was easy to set up. We listen to most programs on a 35-50 volume setting; I believe 90 is the highest. The surround sound speakers behind the sofa give off the stand noises (people yelling, bands playing) when watching football games. It’s like being immersed in the stands but not overpowering the main volume/speaker.

I've been using the LG 5.1.2 Channel Soundbar for about a month now, and I'm absolutely blown away by the sound quality. The soundbar produces a rich, immersive sound that fills my entire living room. I can hear every detail in my favorite movies and TV shows, and the music sounds amazing.
The soundbar is also very easy to set up. I simply plugged it into my TV using an HDMI cable, and it was ready to go. I also love that the soundbar has a wireless subwoofer, which provides deep, powerful bass.
Overall, I'm very impressed with the LG 5.1.2 Channel Soundbar. It's a great way to improve the sound quality of your home theater system, and I highly recommend it.

I recently got the LG 5.1.2 Channel Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer, and it has completely transformed my home entertainment experience. The Dolby Atmos and DTS
create an incredible surround sound effect that pulls you right into the action. Whether I’m watching a movie or playing music, the sound is rich, clear, and immersive.
The wireless subwoofer is a real game-changer. It adds a deep, rumbling bass that brings out all the intensity in action scenes or makes music feel fuller. Plus, no messy cables to trip over—just plug it in, and you're ready to go.
Setup was a breeze, and the sleek design blends in perfectly with my living room setup. The soundbar itself delivers crisp dialogue, and the surround sound channels work beautifully to create an enveloping audio experience. It feels like I’m sitting in a movie theater, minus the sticky floors and overpriced snacks.
Overall, this soundbar delivers a fantastic audio experience with easy setup, great design, and powerful sound. If you want to feel like you’re in the middle of the action, this is the soundbar for you!

Excellent sound and fairly easy setup. Extremely well packaged. Only negative is it is listed at $450 which is a bit much for a cheap remote and 'only' 5.1. also, the rear speakers are wired to a require, plugged in access point. So, you need power somewhere behind you and space to run wires to each satellite. Seems like a bit of an afterthought to a brilliant wireless sound bar and subwoofer.

Purchased these speakers to go in an apartment. I'm a huge fan of watching movies and wanted something on the simpler side while still providing a quality surround sound experience. I have not been disappointed.
One of the concerns I had when making a purchasing decision was concern that the bass would travel through the walls and result in noise complaints. This is where I need to praise the LG app. I am able to switch the speakers into night mode when "quiet hours" go into effect and in the many months I have had this product, I have not received a single noise complaint from my neighbors despite regular movie nights. The quality is also quite impressive for the price. Additionally, I believe there may be some additional compatibility benefits when paired with an LG tv. Though I can not speak to this as I own a Samsung television. Would strongly recommend.

The clarity is great, no matter what u r watching. Watching a movie with dolby atmos is GREAT, along with the surround sound, u feel like u r in the theater! This is a GREAT system, at a GREAT price!!

BRO!!!! This sound bar and sub combo is awesome!!! It matches well with my LG CX OLED TV! It fills the room with sound. I don't know if that conveys what I think it does, but it's how I feel about it. The sound actually sounds like it's from a full surround sound system. And the bass feels good and thick! The Dolby Atmos feature really does add something that wasn't there with my previous sound system. This was Definitely an upgrade!!!

Great deal if you can get during a sale for sub $400. Satellite speakers sound great and have ample volume (realism and volume are tuned perfectly IMO). Sub is more than enough to fill the low end audio, sound at itself seemed a little tinny at first but is great after some acclimation.
Atmos function isn’t very perceivable, but overall still sounds great enough for us to love and recommend.

Overall, this thing thumps! I love that it's capable of playing master quality music files, and upward firing speakers for Dolby Atmos content ! My only gripe is LG's option for "Clear Voice" while watching TV/movies. You have to crank up the volume to make out what people are saying. I had a Polk Signal S2 before this, and their clear voice implementation is far better, but couldn't play Hi-Fi music, and didn't have rear or Atmos speakers. Basically if you don't like to crank up the volume for movies due to neighbors, kids, etc, it's not for you. It's definitely worth the buy, especially for the price.

Cinematic Bliss with Minor-Setup Challenges

The LG 5.1.2 Channel Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer offers an immersive audio experience that elevates home entertainment. The Dolby Atmos and DTS:X support create a three-dimensional soundstage, making movies and music come alive. The wireless subwoofer delivers deep, thunderous bass, enhancing the overall audio quality.
However, there are a few drawbacks to consider. The setup process can be a bit complex for users unfamiliar with advanced audio systems, requiring some patience and attention to detail. Additionally, while the soundbar provides excellent audio quality for movies, some users may find that it lacks a bit of clarity in the midrange frequencies for certain music genres. Despite these minor issues, the LG soundbar remains a solid choice for those seeking a cinematic audio experience at home.

I purchased to mainly watch movies in dolby atmos. Hard to believe a 300$ set up is this good. It took about 20 minutes from start to finish to hook up. The app has all channels where you can set levels of all channels. Watching the flash as I write and wow, about to jump off couch. System provides loud and clear surround sound in a medium size man cave. Surround speakers are the weakest link but still provide great effects. I have the surrounds and sub hidden behind my couch w surrounds firing up from behind. Very good effects. Not sure for 300$ you can do better. Bass is good, center channel privides good clarity for voices and effects in atmos are awesome. Couldn't have purchased anything at double or triple the price that would provide a significant difference in sound. We have a sonos set up in a larger room w sub thats great but very happy with lg in my space. Highly recommended

I bought this for use with my LG C2. Sound quality is much better than the TV. It was easy to hook up. Overall a great sound at considering it was heavily discounted on sale. Probably wouldn’t be as thrilled if I had paid full price but it at a discount, I consider it an excellent bang for the buck.

Talk about bang for your Buck! The sound quality is where this soundbar truly shines for the price. It delivers crisp highs, rich mids, and surprisingly deep bass, elevating my movie nights and gaming sessions to a whole new level. Whether I'm watching action-packed scenes or listening to music, the soundbar's immersive audio enhances every experience.
Additionally, the connectivity options are extensive, allowing me to effortlessly stream music from my smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth, and connect various devices through HDMI and optical inputs.
Overall, I couldn't be happier with my purchase from Best Buy. This soundbar has exceeded my expectations in both design and performance, making it a worthwhile addition to any home entertainment system. Highly recommended!
