Great TV, but not so smart

TV picture is great. Super happy with the sound. I was going to buy a speaker bar but the sound is really good. The 50 inch fits perfect on the fireplace mantle. The feet on it are one of the reasons I purchased as they take up minimal space. Unfortunately we are not happy with it's wi-fi ability. We can not get it connected. We have followed the easy set up over and over with no luck. We bought and connected the Apple TV and it gets right on the internet. Also, the remote buttons are not the greatest when you need to type info for passwords or searching. For this reason it only gets 3 stars.

We love this TV!! It has 3 HDMI ports which is perfect and the SmartTV aspect is very user friendly! There are different brightness settings, but my husband occasionally finds it to be a bit dark.

I went looking for a small tv for a child's room. I ended up with a smart tv for the living room and shifted other TV's around. The price was fabulous and it has been a great purchase. Very easy to use and set up. Connected to my wireless connection with no problem.

Purchased a 50" LG Smart TV from BB after two years earlier buying a Vizio 50" Smart TV from another store. Put that tv at the curb after the screen went blank and paying 80 bucks to find it wasn't worth fixing. No more Vizio products for me. Hopefully the LG will last longer than two years. Picture is definitely an improvement over the Vizio. We'll see, so far, so good.

I had been looking for a TV for a while now. My Vizio was beginning to break down, of course it was 12 yrs old. The LG 50" was just what I was looking for. I read a lot of the reviews before making my decision. It was between this TV and a Samsung. Although both were well made and had great reviews, I'm glad i

Bought a Vizio 50" Smart TV March 30, 2014 for $693. April 6, 2016 picture goes black (actually blue). I have proper surge protection, so it wasn't that.. Paid $80 for a TV repair service to come out and tell me it would cost more than it's worth to repair, over $500. He had no kind words for Vizio, according to him, if it had been a Samsung or LG, cost would have been under a hundred. Based on this experience, no more Vizio products for me. Bought an LG. We will see how that works out.

Prior to purchasing this TV I have used a 27 inch Samsung monitor for both my PC and PS4, so suffice to say there was a bit of a jump. In addition to this I also purchased some Monster brand HDMI cables. General impressions: The range of color seems a lot warmer than the Samsung ran, it seemed a lot more gray than the LG. There are several preset monitor brightness/power save levels, running it on medium is sufficient most of the time, which can certainly help conserve power. I usually don't even notice that I do not have it on maximum brightness. Smart TV: I had no intentions of using the Smart TV stuff on here until I got it and played around, it is handy for things like Netflix or Youtube, they run much the same as they do on consoles (same app layout etc). While the two HDMI inputs I leave play very clearly at 60 Hz, it plays Smart TV stuff at 120 Hz (or at least appears to emulate it). Price is hard to beat. As I said before I connect my PC to it, text etc is clear and easy to read at 1080p. Having browsed around a physical store when I finally made my purchase, I can say it definitely has one of the lower estimated yearly costs energy-wise for its size (A comparable Sharp TV used over 3x as much power). I am satisfied with it. Cons: No stereo output. Not that I should expect this on most TVs but it was a con for me. There is an optical out, which I did get a converter for. If you're like me and attaching to external stereo, be sure to set sound to "LG Sound Sync" and not "External Speaker", because for whatever reason the latter did not do well with Netflix (get a loud screeching noise as soon as you load a file... YouTube played just fine). Not taking off any stars for this since there is no problem when you select Sound Sync. The feet are rather wide apart. If you are not using a wall mount, be sure you have a surface as wide as the TV to place it on, because otherwise it will not have room to sit.

So this is a smart tv with several apps including Netflix, Hulu Plus, and Amazon Instant Video. A great tv over all with 120 hz refresh rate, 1080p (1920x1080). Extremely clear picture, great color and incredible blacks. I love LGs smart tvs. They never fail to show up. I have a 55" (55lb6300) and 50" (50lf6100) The bad part of this review was that when I got a tv that was only 5" smaller than my other, I didn't receive the magic wand remote. The one that comes with this tv doesn't allow you to really celebrate the full functionality of this tv. The receiver or remote may have been left out to reduce costs (I don't know). Having dealt with the magic wand remote on the 55lb6300, I was really hoping for it to make a second appearance here. Since that was only a part of the tv review, I only removed one star. Over all, LG has put out some fantastic smart tvs. I very much recommend this one if you've got it in mind versus another competitor.

    Perfect TV for the perfectionist

This TV is remarkable. First of all, no defective pixels or sub pixels. Defective pixels or sub pixels are rather prevalent among lcd and led lcd TVs (led TVs are lcd TVs with led backlights), and most manufacturers will let a given amount of such defects to pass quality control. Apparently, not LG! This led tv is pixel perfect! Not a single bad pixel or sub pixel. The pixels are not the only thing perfect about this TV. The picture quality represents the pinnacle of 1080p performance. The black on this TV is pitch black, like a plasma. The picture uniformity is fantastic, and it has no backlight bleed. The colors are brilliant and accurate. The only way to get a better picture would be to buy a more expensive technology, such as 4K or OLED, and if you want perfection, an LG 4K or OLED TV. Not only is the picture quality top-notch on this TV, it is packed with features. For example, the ARC HDMI input allows for the best possible connection and sound with a home theater system or sound bar. If you don't want to connect it to a home theater or sound bar, the TV's built in speakers sound very good for TV speakers. The Smart TV operating system of this TV is very intuitive, making it very easy to use. It includes a web browser, and the internet operations are very fast. Streaming internet video is seamless and buffer-free. If the long-term reliability of this TV proves to be as good as its initial impressions (and I think it will because LG's attention to detail and build quality is obvious with this gem of a TV), I will only buy LG TVs from here on out.

So me and my brother had been needing yo upgrade our tv for a while now and when we went to best buy to check out the tvs we had great help buy the guy at the tv section. We had originally gone in for a 50" inch samsung tv we saw online, but after talking with the sales associate he gave us the differences in image quality and i must say im glad we went for this tv. The colors are a little more vivid and natural then what we saw on the other tvs. Amd i have to say Madden and Halo 5 look amazing on it!! You do get a great sound as well just with the speakers on the tv. It is also a light tv with a slim body so it was very easy to hang up on a mount that was rated for max 150 lbs.

This tv delivered. The quick refresh rate keeps sports looking clear and quick. Bright colors and great contrast. Works well with all my devices from computer to chromecast to Xbox one. Highly recommended. Only downside is the two footed base has to be on a wide stand

We had originally bought a tv from sam's club. The advertising for it was misleading, it was only a 60 hz. We got this tv that is 120 hz for almost the same price and we are really happy with it. The picture looks great in hd, and we love the fact that it's a smart tv with built in wifi. We could've probably gotten a better deal if we would've waited until Black Friday, but we couldn't wait that long.

I originally purchased a Samsung 60" then returned it because in my estimation that was not a smart tv. It was much to complicated to operate and the picture was inferior. I then got an LG and was extremely impressed with its ease of use and picture quality. I only knocked of a star because I don't like the stand. I think it looks cheap and I would prefer a frame on the tv. But I guess that's how theyake them these days.

This tv is great! I loved how easy it was to put the legs on. The smart part is wonderful. You have access to hundreds of apps and the layout of Netflix on this vs my Samsung blu-ray player is remarkable. The picture is great and I couldn't be happier with this buy.

I found it to be easy to set up. Picture quality is excellent and gives true colors. Black isn't the deep black you get from higher grade TV's but this is less then a third of those prices and is still very good. This is not used for gaming so I can not comment on that capability but for TV, DVD and streaming Netflix it surpasses our expectations.

This is a great deal. The tv is simple to set up, and the smart tv functionality is great. I have complaints about the picture either. The only negative I can think of is the remote sometimes lags. Other than that, it was a great buy.
