Great TV, But Not Perfect

I've had this set for 4 days, and have watched a good deal of content: movies, tv shows, and sports (mostly soccer and golf, but also some football). I've streamed Netflix shows in 4k, and they look incredible. I really like the magic remote as it's easy to use, and I can set my favorite channels. This is the first smart tv I've owned/used, and it's great. The Netflix and Amazon Prime are the 2 I use the most, and they work flawlessly and are quite easy to navigate with the magic remote. I'm lucky enough to live in Chattanooga and have the gigabyte fiber optic Internet connection with an ASUS RT-AC87U router that is lightning fast. The Netflix 4K programming looks stunning. I hope LG adds some more apps to the store.
I debated whether to but a soundbar with the tv, and decided to wait to see how the built in Harmon Kardon speakers sounded in my living room, which is fairly small (about 15' by 20'). They sound great! I decided no sound bar was needed. Would a soundbar with a sub produce better sound? Absolutely, but I'm not an audiophile and the built in speakers really surprised me. The tv has a Spotify app, and it seamlessly syncs with my account, and I've even used the tv jut to listen to music.
Why did I give it only 4 stars? There is noticeable judder and motion blur when the action gets moving on screen. I've noticed it several times while watching soccer matched, golf, and football. The picture looks great, but there are times when the action studders, and it's quite noticeable. I had read this was an issue with previous LG oled displays, and was hoping they had fixed this issue. It doesn't every time the action starts moving, but it's noticeable when it does. I haven't hooked up my PS4 and tried a game or a blu-ray, but will do so in the next few days.
Overall the tv is great, and I can live with the occasional judder and motion blur. I would recommend this tv.

First OLED TV and the picture is breathtaking. Just pop in a Blu-Ray and even at 1080p, the color, sharpness, and contrast is surreal. Even more so when watching 4K content. Haven't gotten a chance to watch HDR< but tried a few 3D movies. You haven't really watched Mad Max Fury Road till you've seen it on this OLED in 3D. It's something to behold. Smart features are somewhat useful, but the app selection leaves something to be desired. No Plex app for instance. Most of the other popular apps are there (Amazon Prime, Hulu, Netflix). Amazon and Netflix let you stream 4K and HDR. Pretty much the only source right now for 4K, HDR content. Since I don't use an AVR (I have a Sonos system), it would have been nice if there were four HDMI ports rather than three. I could get Dolby passthrough to optical from HDMI without issue.

I bought this to replace a Sony in the family room. I was very hesitant to pay such a price for a new TV considering I could have bought 2 or more other TV's for the same price. Glad I made the decision to by the OLED. It appears that any manufacturing issues have been addressed as I see no evidence of light bleed or banding. The picture is absolutely fantastic (Ser No 511XXXX). Yes, I had to do a little set up action to get the picture to my liking but I'd do that with any TV. Remote that comes with the TV is actually functional and useful. The colors are exceptional and really pop with unbeatable black levels. If you can afford it, IMHO you'll love this TV.
PROS:
*picture quality
*deep blacks
*HDR content ready
*thin and nearly bezel-less so all you see is the picture
*weighs little for its size
*cool remote
CONS:
*expensive
*not a lot of 4K, HDR content currently available
*some gamers complain about input delay (I, personally, don't see it)
*wall mounting requires proprietary LG mount but was included with my TV

A very short back story first, I was comparing the 1080p oled to the samsung js9000 and though I noticed more clarity on the samsung- the oled blew me away. I didn't think id afford/ get the 4k pled because at that time there was only the curved for way to much.
I ended up getting the 9500 after a great price deal.
** people complain about the judder/ blur but i just go to the settings and put TruMotion on User: De-jutter: 10+ De-blur 10+ and to me it looks Great!! And to me at least does not look soap-opra like. Only time i leave it off is if i connect my computer to the tv because it just looks better off.
Overall after tweaking the settings to my liking for hours I found what i liked. Everyone will be alitte different but one thing all should agree on is this being the best. Honestly OLED is the way to go.
I do wish they made more sizes options, i woulda been happy going from a 40" to a 50" but i forced a 55" and honestly, keeping the lighting on it low , even though i am only about 7 feet away it fits perfectly!
Sound will be last little topic for those still reading, I honestly was supper happy with sound quality for what it is, BUT It of corse has no subwoofer sorta base, just pretty good stereo and only using tv speakers until I get a receiver to connect my existing Jamo speakers which I will probably be better then the tv speakers even just running it on stereo.

I went to Best Buy expecting to buy an LED-based television, but when I saw the picture quality of this LG OLED-based set, I changed my mind at once. The clarity, and depth of the color is incredible. Of course the black is really black, but the other colors are brilliant and vibrant too. This set will display HDR color, something it's curved-screen cousin won't, causing us to select the flat screen over the more trendy curved screen model. The sound from the Harmon Kardon speakers is the best I've ever heard from a recent television, although of course not as good as what our home theater system produces. The set we bought had a minor defect (LG logo light would not turn off, despite my having set it to "Off"), but Best Buy immediately exchanged the set for a new one, which works flawlessly.

BEST TV ON THE MARKET CURRENTLY HANDS DOWN! While it's very expensive, if you want a great tv, it's worth every penny.
Pros:
+ 4K TV that supports HDR (high dynamic range) so it has excellent colors and picture
+The organic part of it has the best blacks and dark shades of contrast of any TV ever.
+ The Magic Remote works like a Wii controller so you literally point at what you want and click, which is great for typing things out when searching for something
+ The profile is extremely thin and light
+ The sound on it is Harman/Kardon and is actually quite impressive by itself without any additional soundbar equipment
Cons
-I wish it was cheaper, but that's the price if you want the best!

I got this set because it checked all the boxes. OLED, 4K, HDMI 2.0a, HDR support on both steaming and HDMI inputs, an advanced smart TV capability, and 3D it's basically perfect. As for a 55 inch size set it is hands down the best TV on the market. Only negatives I'd say is it only has 3 HDMI inputs instead of 4 and it currently doesn't support the Western Digital 4K Hard Drive through the M Go app like the Samsung sets do, but maybe eventually it will support that.

Great black levels and colors. The remote control works good and easy to use. Web 2.0 works good. Just wish it would have the directv app. The picture is better than the plasma I had. There is some motion blur that you can get use to. All and all it is a good television. Been a samsung fan for many years but lg has won me over.

I originally bought the curved model but it was dead on arrival. Took it out of the box at home and it didn't power on. I was a little upset to say the least. Took it back to BB and exchanged for the flat model. The TV was $2999.99 with 0% APR for 24 months. Also got a FREE 42" 1080p LG LED tv and wall mount for the OLED. The tv itself is breath taking. Regular cable/SAT signal is ok. It is better then my 1080p set for sure. The up scaling helps and the true blacks really make the picture life like. I have Netflix and amazon prime for some 4K content. 4K is insane. Better then the movie theater. There isn't much in 4K yet but with big companies jumping on board with 4K it will only be a matter of time. 2160p is hear to stay. Dish network is releasing the 1st 4K box and direct TV has launched 2 4K SAT's in orbit. Also a few major networks have bought 4K cameras so I think by the end of 2016 we will have a true 4K channel line up. The 3D upscale is good. I only watch a few of my favorite shows but it does give a more immersive experience. I say if you're looking for the best picture available today get this set. My only "what if" with this set is how long it will last. I hope to get 10 years from it but the tech is to new to really have a true reliability estimate.

The TV over all is great. Nice build quality but the remote could use a little more work. The motion processing needs a major update, as user setting are better than preset. The up-scaling could also use some updating to get on the level of Samsung and Sony, The contrast, color and detail is amazing!

Absolutely, hands down the most amazing TV I had to date. I'm very much demanding in regards to the picture and sound, and this TV impressed me in all respect. I've seen it in the showroom and read a few reviews before buying and was curious just how good are the colors and the blacks in the dark room (not in store showroom), wow it turned out they are absolutely beautiful. The more 4k content is becoming available, the more this TV becomes essential for truly immersive experience. I'm also using it as external monitor with my Mac, works beautifully in full 4k definition. The smart TV applications are also quite good, I found it very handy to be able to link iPhone and iPad to this TV, browse videos on youtube and watch them instantly on TV. Speaking about physical appearance, this TV is well designed with super thin edge and is surprisingly light weight. The best part is the price when it's on sale is coming to the range where it's becoming affordable.

I went to BB to upgrade our main TV and really wasn't in the market for a large purchase. I was shown some models that were nice but nothing quite like this one. As it turned out I was shown this and I fell in love! The best part is it was 50% off due to an open box. I'm not one to trust open box buys but I was told the box was damaged off the truck so it had to be opened. There was absolutely not a scratch on it and it has a flawless picture! To protect myself I bought the Geek Squad protection plan just in case. So far it has performed like a champ. I recommend pairing it with a soundbar or surround sound system to enjoy the best quality in sound. Blu-Rays are upscaled close to 4K and look amazing. The 3D is really cool as well. If you are going to splurge I recommend any LG OLED TV.

The crisp picture of the EF9500 still amazes me after several weeks. I started with an EC9300 in May, 2015. I enjoyed the picture and design of that model then stepped up to the EF9500. Wow!
Both have beautiful pictures, but the EF9500's 4k makes an even better experience.... akin to looking out a window. The 3D is clearer, as well. I would have held out for a 2016 model, but I wanted a flat screen (due to an elongated reflection of a lamp in the back of the room which was verbotten to be moved) and 3D capability. It is costly, however, if you can afford it don't settle for anything less.

I was looking for a tv to replace the incredible blacks and refresh rate of my pioneer elite plasma.
I found this and then some in the LG OLED 4K tv's. Incredible blacks, amazing refresh rate and vibrant realistic color.
The tv is incredibly thin, and sharp looking design is very visually appealing. I will in the near future be wall mounting it with the mount included in the tv purchase.
If you're considering a high end Samsung LED spend a few extra bucks and get one of these. Worth the money.
I bought hdmi 2.0 cables on Amazon for a fraction of the cost as the audio quest ones they recommend and the Amazon ones are just as good.
The curved model doesn't support hdmi 2.0a- therefore cannot produce true 4K when connected to a 4K uhd bluray. Very deceiving. If 4K is why you're upgrading get the flat one (9500 model).

I have not had time to tweak the picture but am just using the standard settings. The picture is great. The colors are fantastic. Blacks are really black. Have not noticed any problems with the standard settings except on 3D. Getting a little ghosting. Nothing bad, but if I go into the controls I as sure that I can fix that. It is worth the price. The quality of the picture is noticeable right from the start compared to the TV it replaced. The picture is as good as my Plasma.

As a TV, this can't be beaten. The picture is amazing. OLED is an incredible technology. However, I was replacing an existing wall mounted TV that was hung using a standard flat screen TV wall mount that is compatible with 99% of TVs. This TV requires a non-standard wall bracket that is specific to this TV. Here's the problem: if you have an existing wall mounted TV like me, the chances are that all of your wires and cables will be centered behind the existing TV. If that is the case, the specific LG bracket will need to be mounted right on top of the existing outlets and wall entry points. And the bracket is totally solid with no holes to pass cables through. In order to get around this, I was advised that I would have to move the existing cabling 2 feet left or right of the current holes. There is no way that I was going to agree to tearing up my wall to accommodate an extremely poorly designed wall bracket. I ended up returning the TV and replaced with a Sony 4K LED. The picture on the Sony doesn't hold a candle to the LG, but it can be mounted to a standard bracket. LG designers have caused a huge injustice by designing a fantastic TV and an extremely poorly thought out wall bracket. Huge shame!

Purchased this TV after reading several reviews online. All reviews stated as the best TV currently in the market, and it is, indeed.
The colors are amazing, the deep blacks make them pop. HDR video looks stunning (Amazon Prime has some HDR shows), and WebOS is very easy to use.
If you don't mind paying the premium, go ahead and buy this TV. It is worth every penny!

I was a little apprehensive about some of the common reported picture imperfections regarding vignetting, motion processing, and other gripes with this set, but I've been extremely pleased with the picture. This TV really produces excellent blacks far exceeding the mid-range plasmas I've owned in the past. In fact, right before my TiVo hits the nightly emergency broadcast alert system test message and displays a completely black screen, I keep thinking that the TV shut itself off.
My one minor complaint about the picture is that the picture isn't as sharp as I'd like when objects on the screen are in motion. Coming from plasmas, I can't stand the soap opera effect when motion smoothing is turned on, so I always switch this off. It took a few days to get use to the decreased sharpness for this TV, but I don't really notice it anymore unless I'm actively looking for it.
I can't wait for future iterations of OLED TVs to further mature the technology and for the price to continue dropping so that I can pick up another one!
