Using it as I write this. Clear view, no motion blur while watching sports, which is pretty much all we watch. Just need more broadcasts in 4K. True blacks. Bought a slim mount so all disappears. Got a Sonos bar for sound as the internal speakers are good…if you are a dog. The remote is awkwardly shaped and confusing to operate. Amazing these companies can’t figure out how to do these yet. Scope creep central on these things. I think I can launch a Tesla rocket with it, but all I want to do is go to the last channel watched…which I can’t do.

Upgraded my Sony 55 X850c finally after 5 years. I was on the edge on getting the TCL 6 series or just coughing up the cash to get the LG OLED. I researched different tvs for atleast a month before I made the decision. I had the fear of permanent burn-in which was one of the reasons I didn't purchase this tv sooner. Rest assured this tv has settings to shift pixels and put up a screensaver. If you want the best picture with g sync and HDMI 2.1 with vrr, don't hesitate on purchasing this set. The picture does not get as bright as QLED tvs but the sharpness and picture quality will speak for itself. HDR with Dolby Vision will blow your socks off. In 2021 if you are on the fence and want a solid tv with HDMI 2.1 with most of the bells and whistles of the CX series than look no further. The CX model is only 50 more dollars now so I would recommend getting that if it's in stock. Otherwise this model will still do the job for the price.

    Excellent OLED TV

I had spent a few weeks debating between a Samsung QLED or an OLED TV. I eventually decided on the LG BX55 due to the response time and overall better picture quality. I primarily use this TV for gaming and watching movies and after a week of use I can say I’m beyond impressed. The response time is better than my LG gaming monitor and I find myself in awe looking at games like Ghosts of Tsushima and The Last Of Us II. This is my first OLED and it has impressed me, and I am now considering purchasing a second to replace the UHD Samsung in my bedroom. My only complaint with the TV is the complexity of the UI takes some time to get used to. After a week I’ve finally got it all figured out, but out of the box it definitely was much more complex than any TV I have previously owned.

About a day in and I’m absolutely loving the BX. I’ve been drooling playing the 4K demos on YouTube, the picture quality is a religious experience. My Xbox one x is much clearer and richer vs my 2018 4K tv. Watching football as I type and the picture off broadcast looks crisp and motion is flawless. I was worried about brightness as the BX seems to be set up dimmer vs the CX instore, but getting it home there is no issue. In fact I have oled brightness setting halfway and if I turn it up higher it just gets too bright and blown out. Small knock is there is some light banding in some gradients especially if it’s gray and it’s fast moving like an expanding logo, but really 99.9% of images have no issue whatsoever. I almost went with the CX but I’m glad I saved the cash as it turns out the brightness difference is no issue at all. You will love this tv.

Gorgeous TV. I honesltly debated between this and CX but ultimately the price made me go with the BX Series. Picture quality is amazing and best of all it has 4K @ 120hz for gaming with the PS5 or Xbox Series X. Next gen looks amazing on this which is the main reason I went with OLED. The only downside I see if that it only has 2 HDMI 2.1 ports which are on the back of the TV instead of the side but I wall mounted my TV and have had no issues so unless you want it to be flush on the wall then this setup will not work and you will have to go with the CX. For the price difference, I took this one and didn't lose noticeable picture quality compared to the CX or even GX. Overall, best TV purchase I have done ever.

Love my new OLED 55’ TV. My two favorite Geek Squad Specialists Aaron and Theron assist in getting this TV delivered, installed and mounted. I even have the arm which resided conspicuously behind the Tv and it can extend out and can be moved from left and right. Love the display is night and day the picture quality is in matached.

very happy with this tv. big upgrade from an older 43” sony 1080. completes a year-long home theater upgrade. don’t love the smart tv aspects, but using a firetv box instead for smoother streaming needs.

Outstanding picture, I will only buy OLED going forward. I have had several LG TVs in the past, they have all been great, but OLED is the next level. Surprisingly good sound for native speakers.

Picture itself is great. My only issue is the clearance at the bottom of the screen is insufficient for my sound bar. My Bose sound bar (2018 model) sits about 1.5 inches higher than the lower part of the screen. Crawl screens are not visible at all. Unfortunately I will have to purchase a different sound bar to make this work.

    Best TV I ever owned

Best TV I ever had. I was going to replace my 48" with the same size OLED and I am so glad that I went with the 55". I have quite a large room (28') and now I can see and read the text from across the room. I did not realize how good the picture really was until I set this TV up. Watching 4K movies is better than being in a movie theater. The colors just pop off the screen. The contrast is the best that you could imagine. I am a part time photographer and my photos have never looked this good on a screen. The remote takes some getting used to but it is otherwise pretty good. The main issue I have is not with the TV but with cable TV. The commercials have better quality than the shows (wonder why -- LOL). The upgrade of the signal makes most streaming seem to appear like 4K. If I didn't know that it wasn't 4K I would think that it was. I have heard of the burn-in issue but I have had that issue with other large screen TVs and I don't consider that a detriment just an incentive to upgrade in several years like I always do. The price for this TV could be considered on the high end compared to the TVs you see advertised for much less but this TV is definitely worth the money (I spent a lot more for my first 1080p). I would like to see more apps available in the WebOS but that will probably happen as it becomes more popular.

LG BX 55" 2020 Review: TV, Gaming and G-Sync

Bought this LG BX 55" from Best Buy in the Fall of 2020 for both viewing and gaming. Have been using it for about a month now. I found the TV setup easy. It found my wifi simply and connected with no problems. Enabling apps like PrimeVideo, Disney, Netflix, Hulu all simple. I did not set up any surround sound audio, but for the smallish room I''m in the TV sound quality is good. Aesthetically the image is superb. The blacks are truly black, and the color gradients are brilliant and clear. I use a 4K 27" computer monitor and this LG TV at 55" in full 4K has even better color and image quality than I would have expected. The remote takes a little getting used to, but it's actually quite nice. When you hold and move the remote it acts more like a Wii controller or a mouse, with a visible pointer on the screen you can use to select items etc. If you don't like that or it's confusing, there are still navigation buttons on it like a classic remote. As a gaming Monitor, once you get past the setup process, it is also amazing. I have an MSI RTX2070 Super GPU so G-Sync was something I wanted to make sure I could utilize. Some tips for those who are trying to use this TV as a gaming monitor with G-Sync: 1) The TV input has to be HDMI. Yes, Nvidia finally worked out how to get G-Sync over HDMI and not just Display-port (game changer and a threat against AMD!). Don't try a D-port to HDMI converter, none work right now with G-Sync. If you are not running G-Sync then a converter may still work - I've never tried it. 2) The Input description for the HDMI input on the TV has to be set to "PC". You need to "rename" the input as a PC or the TV won't be looking for a G-sync signal from your GPU. Just plugging in the HDMI from your PC isn't enough. Go through the LG TV settings menus until you can "identify" one of the HDMI inputs as "PC" 3) My biggest challenge was setting up this TV with a 2nd monitor. The intent is to "game" on this LG TV, but use the 2nd monitor for other apps like discord, steam, chats, streaming etc. To do this you need your PC Display settings to assign the LG TV as the PRIMARY monitor, not the secondary. G-Sync will only show up in the Nvidia Display Options when the TV is the primary monitor. This took forever to figure out... 4) Although the TV can handle 4K at 120Hz, as a gaming monitor unless you have an Nvidia 30XX series GPU your PC is probably not going to be able to push that over HDMI to the PC. So be sure to set your PC and TV accordingly (cut the refresh rate, or cut the resolution down). 5) Also, the TV has a "game mode" for display settings that works great - be sure to set the display mode for whatever HDMI input you use to "Game mode". 6) The OLED screen does have a risk of burnout, so I'm told... So be sure to blacken your desktop background and when possible, hide desktop icons... When you do this, the LG BX TV will be entirely black even when the PC is running.. It looks exactly the same as if the TV were off (not like my old backlit LED that still looks grey!) Two thumbs up for this TV. If I have any reliability or workmanship issues I'll be sure to update this in the future but after about 50hours of TV and 50 hours of gaming things are running great!

This is my first 4k tv, so I wanted to go big with getting a nice tv that will last me awhile, look beautiful, and do all of that while not breaking the bank. This is the perfect tv. Setting up the TV was a breeze, the stand wasn't a hassle to screw in like my last TV. Software setup is simple and easy. The magic remote was a little off putting at first, think of it as a Wii remote, where you can wave it around to select items with a cursor while pointing it at your tv. It still has all the same functionality as a regular remote, too. It ended up growing on me and actually makes navigating menus faster now. This tv makes light gaming sessions look INCREDIBLE, and it makes my movie sessions look even better then that. I am seriously blown away at how good dark scenes in movies look now. If you are looking for some of the best movie watching experiences, but don't want to be scared to look at your bank account, this is the TV for you.
