Beautiful picture. TV itself looks classy. However I am a 3D movie fan. Have quite a collection. This TV produces so much ghosting it is impossible to enjoy a 3D movie. Had to return the TV and got the 65EF9500 OLED. That has perfect 3D.

It's great watching any hd or 4K content in this. The colors are natural. The high refresh rate allows for smooth action even when watching a high action sequence in 4K. The software is also not as slow as on other smart tvs.

Many of the upper end televisions started looking the same in the store. Decided on the LG because of webOS 2.0 and really enjoy this feature.

We wanted a 3D TV, and we wanted a Passive TV - because we don't want to spend $20+ for a pair of glasses (we have six in our family, plus friends and family who want to come over) or keep them charged to watch movies. The passive glasses are great because they are the same technology used in movie theaters, so you can even use the same glasses as the theater uses. We also like the fact that LG uses the 4k resolution well with Passive 3D, giving a true 1080p picture split for both eyes.
Native 4k looks great on the set, but there's very little available - need to go to VUDU, YouTube, etc. There is a new Ultra HD DVD standard, but even the players for those are not readily available yet, and not many studios have released anything in that format.
The picture quality is very good. My only gripe is that the TV is a little dimmer than I'd like - so we have to get good blackout curtains during the day. Not terrible, but not as bright as our previous Samsung 55" which we replaced with this one.
The TV OS is fantastic - every TV should come with WebOS. The pointer on the remote can be confusing though (but it is a great feature). Sometimes you want to use it to point at UI elements that come from other components you have plugged in (like your XBox or DVD Player!).
Overall, we have been very satisfied with this set - and if you are a 3D Movie Fan and cannot spend the money on the new OLEDs that LG has, then this is a very good buy. I heartily recommend it.

What a great TV. I was going with Samsung's 8600 series TV that I reviewed for months. The LG was up there the few times I glanced at it, but after seeing it and hearing it I had to go with the LG. The sound blew Samsung away. Let alone the picture and the overall look of the TV. After several months, I know I made the best choice.

Best user interface/remote contol, Worse 3D

Best thing about this TV is the user interface/remote control. Was very disappointed and frustrated with the 3D, which was poor quality. There's a certain scene in Hugo, after the automaton (sp?) draws the rocket in moon picture, that was very blurry, along with other occasional, but consistent, blurriness/ghosting/cross talk, usually in background (but not always). Alfred Hichcock's Dial M for Murder was unwatchable - unbelievably bad. Thought LG was supposed to have the best 3D, because of other reviews I've read, but this is NOT TRUE. 3D is very important to me, so I exchanged this for the Samsung 65JS8500, which is so better in so many ways - I definitely made right decision getting rid of this LG - on the Samsung, the problematic Hugo scene was almost perfect, and the Hitchcock 3D movie was very good (even better than Sony TVs I had). My new Samsung also has better picture quality. Only thing that is good about this LG TV is the remote control, and smart webOS software. Samsung also has point & click remote, but it's not quite as good as the LG since it's missing a scroll wheel. I love love love my Samsung 65JS8500, and would highly recommend that TV instead.
